Hm, I'm probably wrong but I thought I remembered Jagex saying that ROW only affects monster drops. It does have a small effect on barrows, too. You will occasionally get 2-dose prayer, super defense, and restore potions and more runes/racks.

It's very possible that Guthix wasn't worshipped as widely as other gods, much like in the present. You have druidic robes from the third age, and the druids are typically Guthixian, and there might have been records from before he went to sleep. Or it could be that they hadn't planned that far ahead with the God Letters and created a plothole because of how much the lore has changed in ~5 years :razz:

It's probably much easier to do than things that would actually help to alleviate poverty. People do tend to like the simplest way to be able to say "I'm helping!" whether or not it actually helps. For one, it's a lot easier to get people to agree on this than some kind of large-scale political changes. That said, inb4 the politically minded forumers each list the way their respective political beliefs are the only way to alleviate poverty.
