Just to add a bit more info : Level 55 Construction for an armour stand to fix Barrows items. The formula is : (100-Smithing level/2)/100* normal price of fixing armour. The normal full fix of a Barrows set is 300k so if your smithing level is 50 its : (100-50/2)/100=0.75*300,000=225,000. / is divide, * is x.

Of course there's lag, what do you expect? There's been a massive update on RS and people want to look around on other sites to see the opinions of other people. It doesn't mean they have to sign up - personally I turn away from any website that says you have to register to see the forums. Not everybody will want to post and why should they be forced into giving their email address etc just to view some forums? TIF is an open-air forum for everybody to use, not just regulars.

make sure it doesnt lagg like a constipated person going for a number 2 before? Technically a constipated person would be going for a number 2 anyway.. Anyway, doing it "right"? This is how I would do it : Release either just the High Detail mode or both of these new modes as BETA. Keep the old low detail mode for those who preferred the old graphics. Wait until bugs/lag are fixed before releasing the full screen mode. Still, keep the old low detail mode. So at the end of it you would have : High Detail mode for those who have the specs, and the old low detail for those who don't. At some point perhaps release the "new" low detail mode if there's enough requests for it. It wouldnt be hard ; there would be less complaints, less lag, people would be able to use the old RS graphics if wanted or upgrade to the HD mode. As far as I can see the "new" low detail mode serves no real purpose at all, since it offers next to none of the HD textures, while maintaining the poor character models/glitches. I really felt there would be an option to carry on playing one of the old detail modes when this update came up, when Jagex said the update was "optional". When the lag subsides perhaps it will improve but at the moment the update feels forced upon those who don't like the update/can't use the HD mode.

In my opinion it's a bad thing. I was under the impression Jagex were releasing the Full/High detail mode in addition to the existing detail modes. So now instead of sacrificing detail for smoothness, we have to decide between "low" detail (which lags), or high detail (which lags even more), or fullscreen (crasheh). It kind of annoys me that low detail isn't really "low". It's just different, and more laggy. But I guess it'll get smoothened out over the next few days/weeks. So I'm willing to wait a while before passing a proper judgement. [/sage]

So I'm assuming this is the one, but, boy, Intel have a complicated website.. If you have Vista it shouldn't be a problem because on the surface Intel haven't released an option to find stuff on Vista.

Find out what your graphics card is (Desktop>Properties>Settings>Advanced>Adapter Tab). Click Properties again and hit the Driver tab. It should give you info on the graphics card. Once you've found that out try : http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx - for Nvidia cards http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html - for ATI cards http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ - for Intel chipsets And download the latest driver for your graphics card. Also try closing any other windows you have, and make sure you stay within the RS window. I have the same problem, and I have to run low detail :roll:

So I was finally able to log in (on the low detail mode -.- ) And all I can say is : Give it time, this is only a BETA..There are a number of problems, but I don't want to rant away here. I can see there are some very impressive pictures but there are things that need to be sorted. And yes, like Arr0w, post more pictures for us! :D

Well, it all looks great. but I have a problem : 3 to be exact.. I've tried using the new detail mode on an old computer, which I kind of knew wouldn't run the new graphics. I get to about halfway through the loading screen when it goes to another text screen saying things about my driver isn't good enough, etc. So i've tried downloading the latest java and drivers and it doesn't appear to be working. think the problem may simply be my graphics card. anyway, I usually play RS on a Mac but for some reason, none of the detail options are working on Internet Explorer for mac. All I get is a white screen, then it freezes. I've tried all java options, High Detail, Safe mode, it just does not want to work. Interestingly, though, on High Detail, the screen doesn't go white. It stays black, and nothing happens at all. Finally on Safari when I load any version of RS the screen goes white, and I get a little red cross in the top left hand corner... Any help? (If this should be moved somewhere else, sorry!)

I'm kinda confused with junk trading. I've never done it ; but I do understand the concept. What I don't understand, however, is the point in making 30m worth of junk, just so you can sell a 3rd age kite for 70m rather than 40m. You're essentially creating extra 30m of cash, just nobody wants to buy it from you. Why not sell the kite and make 30m anyway? You'd still end up with the same net result but without having to chop maples and cut them into unstrungs. I can understand buying 30m worth of junk, because it means you have the resources to sell a high value item for even more via street trades. But surely only someone with 30m spare would actually buy the junk to resell in a street trade, in which case they're unlikely to need the money anyway...

If you're P2P I think the quickest route is :Swordies until 80 or so then monks to 94 then sharks to 99. The most cost effective way is trout or salmon. In terms of time, it's hard to say..But a few weeks if you play on a medium/fairly regular basis.

Your best melee armour + mage pray. Bring the best food you possibly can (buy monks, or sharks.), couple of prayer pots and 1 super set. Pot up before the fight, mage pray and just keep going. It's a fairly straightforward fight although at the beginning your prayer will go down so make sure you use a prayer pot early on. Not quite sure what you mean by "back out", well, of course, you can teleport out of there (use a 1 click teleport like house tab or ectophial). Then you can come back to do the fight. But you shouldn't need to if you use good armour, good food, and super sets.

Ideally you'll want better range (75+), but it's definitely possible. The equipment : Veracs Helm > Armadyl Helm > Torags Helm > Archer Helm (tbh I'm not sure on that one.) Fury > Glory > God Stole Crystal Bow x2 > Zammy Book + Rune Crossbow (2k addy bolts) > Karils Crossbow (around 3k racks) Armadyl Top > Karil's Top > Black/blessed Dhide body Veracs Skirt > Armadyl bottom > Karils skirt > Black/blessed D hide legs Ranger Boots > Snakeskin Boots > Bandos Boots > Dragon Boots Barrows Gloves > Black/blessed D Hide Gloves Archer Ring > Ring of Recoil *I'm not sure about the stats of Armadyl compared to the barrows items so the order may be slightly wrong. Invent : 2nd Crystal Bow (switch when you get to Jad) > 150 diamond (e) bolts (switch to when you get to Jad) 2 Range Potions 8 Saradomin Brews 16 Super Restores I'm not entirely sure on the invent because different people have different opinions on what works best. You may want to add 1 piece of straightforward food to that invent when you dont want to use brews, or you could add 150-200 stacked sweets for minor healing. Or you may want more ranging potions and less brews. Either way it's a rough guide of what you'll need.

I'm on the bandwagon here but definitely slayer. You don't even need 85 ~ 75 (gargoyles), 80 (nechs) and 83 (spiritual mages) are all good money. Slayer is more varied too, and your combat will rocket up...And your summoning..and herblore..etc. It's a fantastic skill.

Play to your strengths, you have 85 range..If you can get that 88+, you could probably find a few Arma teams willing to take you. Although you might also want to get 85+ defence as well. 52 summoning would be useful too. I think that's your best bet, since you're closest to that, and it's potentially more lucrative than bandos.

Coinshare only works on valuable items (or, ironically, d meds -.- ) Joey explains lootshare quite well so I'd just like to add that i believe I'm right in saying there is a 16 tile lootshare "zone" from the monster you are killing, which both of you need to be in. So if you're off screen or something, it might not work.

What armour do you use generally at the moment? If it's Barrows, and you're happy with the fact it degrades, don't bother with Bandos armour. If you're using something like torso + d legs, then Bandos is a nice upgrade. The tassets have great range defense bonus, by the way. And a dfs is always handy if you ever decide to go boss hunting (dks, graa'dor, etc.).

61-70 con only took 3m? That sounds a little...cheap..if you don't mind me saying. How did you level it?

I kind of took it for granted you had guthans already..But if not, then that's exactly what you should get. Then go for an all out assault on 85 slayer as I'm planning to do. It also leaves you with some spare dough. \

Gargoyles, from experience. You need 75 slayer to kill them, and in 2 tasks of about 140 and 120, I think I got around 15 each task. They also have decent loot generally so if you have the slayer level to camp there, you'll make a bit of profit on the side of the charms. Still, it's not a great ratio of charms, but there you go :wall:

Bones to peaches tabs are expensive? If you have more than 5 bones in your invent, it's cheaper food than sharks. A LOT cheaper. Since 5 bones = 5 peaches, 5 peaches heal 40hp (8hp each). A shark costs roughly 1k and heals 20hp. So B2P tabs are MASSIVELY cheaper. Especially if you collect 14-16 bones each time you use a tab...It's over 100hp, easily. Also if you're going to aviansies, don't use Emerald(e) bolts. They cost ~205gp, while mithril bolts cost around ~90gp. Just use mithril. And as craven said, do herb runs and MTK for extra cash on the side while you're at aviansies/green dragons/runecrafting/slaying. And to top it all off, make sure each time when you log off you put your expensive items on the GE for maximum price, and sometimes when you log back in, you'll have made an easy 500k, without even playing the game.

That's pretty clever of you, somehow you've managed to make 29 items fit into a pack that holds 28. Haha, not being serious, you probably made a typo. Though, I can't believe for one minute you did it with a MSB and rune arrows....But if you say so. Crystal bows are a good way to go but will only seem worth it if you succeed straight away. I prefer using a rune crossbow and zammy prayer book, since it means you get the additional prayer bonus.
