  1. In that case, make arrowheads f2p smithable, make a few NPC fletching shops where you can exchange logs and arrowheads and feathers for arrows. No need to give them the entire skill if all they're going to get is a few low level arrows.
  2. Nah, use a Farseer Helm.
  3. Oh boy that was a tough quest. I felt my sanity slipping too, it truly was a work of art that Jagex really should try to recreate with future quests.
  4. I thought that the idea was that the policies are representative of the public, not the gender/ethnicity of the politician. Now, if the policies weren't representative, something has gone wrong.
  5. I used to use guides, but now I have realised how they take the enjoyment out of questing. So now, I freestyle.

Very true, but the only thing that we can do is avoid becoming the stereotype. I think it's just a pattern that nobody can break.
  7. It shouldn't be legal, it's morally questionable, and the practice should be seriously discouraged. But when it comes to prostitution, a lot of people don't care about legality, morality, or authority. May as well take the blow but minimise the damage.
  8. I've never been victim to controls, but frankly it's up to the parent to allow their child any access to the Internet at all until they reach the age of consent.
  9. That's a very naive comparison. Saruman's taking a very pragmatic (and in my opinion) sensible stance, he's aware that whatever you do with the laws prostitution will still exist, you can only drive it underground by making it illegal. Killing people is nothing like prostitution. I saw a Stephen Fry documentary recently where he visited a legal brothel in Nevada. It was a model business run by a very competent lady. All the prostitutes were pretty much their own business women who used the premises and paid commission. All the girls had regular health checks and would check all the men before they started. It was safe and contributing to the economy. Granted i'm not sure i'm entirely comfortable with the morality of the situation, but i'm not naive enough to think that making it illegal will get rid of the problem. That simply gets the girls drawn into crime and gangs. You're right. Even a zero tolerance policy and serious investment into the police won't eliminate prostitution. The demand is there, and someone is going to supply it. I think that the problem lies not with actual prostitution, but with the pimps who mistreat the prostitutes. They should get at least the minimum wage, they should have health checks, they should be allowed to leave/join the trade when they want, and all of the other laws that come with a legitimate business.
  10. MMORPGs are 'nerdy' by definition, but just playing it and talking about it isn't 'nerdy' enough to warrant insults. I prefer the title 'gamer' to those people (me included), it's much more accurate and less negatively stereotypical. I will, however, respect the views of a WoW player who says that WoW is better than RS, and has reasons to back it up, even if I don't agree with them. If the words like nerdy or dumb (or equivalent) gets thrown around, you're entitled to ignore them until they stop using that abysmal argument. As for me, I don't try to talk about the game merely because there would be no gain in doing so. But, I will answer truthfully if asked: "I play RuneScape in my spare time, so what?"

Education isn't really important, really. My entire primary school class.Third highest results for the level out of ten classes during preliminary exams.2/3 of us,including myself went to schools that average 201 after PSLE.Thats our system,by the way. [hide=Short mini-rant]My score was something like English-A Maths-A* Science-A Chinese-C. Out of 300 I got around 220,went to a lousy school.[/hide] Anyway,at 17,personally I without gambling, earn about 1.2k at a part time job where I work for 2-5 hours, not even daily.I get free food and drinks there,I get to watch free live shows, and I can flirt with girls during work time. Thats how it is,there can never be a perfect education system because freaks like me exist. If say it was adapted to fit me,there would be some other freak who had encountered another flaw in the system, and so on. There is no such thing as a perfect education system, and I was talking about typical trends. But there is such thing as a better education system, and there's plenty of potential in state schools to get a lot better.
  12. Why? Mousekeys aren't illegal, as long as each individual command, be that 'walk here', 'withdraw x' or 'craft runes' is made by the player pressing a button. When you don't press anything and your character performs an action, that's illegal.

I think that the best place is a healthy midpoint between Socialism and Capitalism. Capitalism works, for example, with luxuries which people could choose not to buy and get along without it, and can easily form competition in order to keep the prices as supply and demand dictates, not just what the company wants (oil companies should be undercutting each other, but so many people need oil they don't need to in order to lower priced to get a sale). It doesn't work with products/services which everyone uses, like healthcare, education*, fuel, food, water etc. without danger of crashing. Socialism works with everything that Capitalism fails in, but doesn't need to apply where it succeeds. Sure, you could go 100% Authoritarian, but private enterprise should be encouraged too, nobody should be denied the chance to succeed. *Education is what is keeping the rich/poor divide open. Rich families are paying for better education, and on average get the better jobs, and therefore can afford to improve their own children's education, and on average get the better jobs etc. Ideally, Capitalism in education should be eradicated, not by forceful means, but by improving state schools so independent schools are made redundant.
  14. Support. It seems strange that arrow breakage has been overlooked.
  15. It's my actual name, there is no subtle reference to a certain pipe-smoking detective or anything, although the joke has been done. *creeps off with a magnifying glass*
  16. I'm inclined to believe that our world isn't exactly real* either, but we can't do anything about it. Face it, there is no and will be no red/blue pill. *as in real** real ** as in real*** real real. *** as in real**** real real real. **** as in real***** real real real real. ... n(*) as in real (n+1)(*) n(real) P.S. Sorry, had to get mathematical there, but it would have gone into infinity and I would have been stuck here typing for a long time. :geek:

In my opinion it's a good idea to do something different, it makes you stand out from the crowd. But whatever you do, don't follow someone else in their 'non-conformist style'. Too many people make that mistake and get grouped together again. No, do what you want to do, and if it works, awesome. P.S. Maths isn't the best place to start with non-conformism. Try a creative subject like art, music, design etc.
  18. Good idea, it would be a nice touch to customise your combat style with a defense-offence slider, but how much experience you get in each skill should change depending on the weapon and the 'stance slider'. You should be able to 100% experience focus on each skill though, even if how much it affects combat doesn't vary as much. I know, make it even more variable with a sliding triangle between attack, strength and defence! You pick a spot on the triangle, the closer it is to each corner, the higher the percentage of the experience you get per hit (for attack/strength) or successful defend (defence). On some weapons which traditionally don't have a style option, parts of the triangle are blacked out, so for example, with a whip, most of the triangle is blacked out apart from a small line between 'attack' and 'defence', so you can't train strength. I also wish they re-did the combat animations, it should be exiting and dynamic!
  19. Thanks for the heads up, but it's best to use the tip.it worlds anyways. ;)
  20. A better idea than that doesn't exist. Unfortunately, I don't think we're ever going to be able to get rid of it :wall: . What's wrong with money? It causes individual greed, but there's no equivalent system out there that doesn't.
  21. Probably a colossal war, it's our biggest flaw and will never leave us.
  22. .

The only problem I have with anybody smoking is having a cloud of the stuff going right into my face in public when I don't smoke and never intend to smoke. It smells bad, it makes plenty of people cough, and it ain't a good thing for your health no matter how you look at it. There's no real choice about it either. That's what I want to get rid of.
  23. Mint Choc Chip, but I've had a Baileys (Irish Cream Liquor) one which was amazing.
  24. Mmm... spiffy bookcase. Now if only it were practical, it would be even better. Or is there some kind of hidden door so you can get inside?
  25. That's because RSC has a much smaller population, so the individual stands out more. It would be nice if Jagex focused on individual achievements again, but I'm worried that that may have become impossible.
