  1. We the players have absolutely no rights whatsoever regarding the playing of Runescape or related services provided by Jagex ltd., apart from the choice not to play. It's Jagex's job to make the game as good as they can possibly make it, but it is not their duty. How about a 'Player's Bill of Requests', instead, outlining what Jagex should keep in the game no matter what?
  2. Haha me too. Would anyone care to put the year on the thread tittle? Yeah, that would be appreciated. This thread is so old yet so bumped, but it still is a fantastic interview. I wonder when he will get summoning 99 and take back his rightful place in the overall tables?
  3. So... what is the issue? We've got a santa hat, so a santa suit was kinda inevitable.
  4. Yes, but it can be dangerous, with your eyes drying out and stuff. If you didn't sleep, your brain's functions will become worse and worse and you'll start hallucinating. Eventually you'd collapse, and at best, you'd get some sleep. At worst, you'd stop functioning altogether and die. Our brains just seem to be built in a way where our brain throws information into a disorganised pile and can't deal with it when the pile gets too big. So, we sleep to give our brain a while where it receives no new information and sorts itself out. Even though we say it, we are not low on energy when we are tired, we only get energy from food/drink, not sleeping, our mind is just too disorganised to use the energy we've got efficiently.
  5. I'm a cat person, and proud of it. I don't feel I have to justify myself, it's just that I was raised with a pair of cats and still have a pair of cats.
  6. You can never work out what the next step will be just using the information of the past and the present. You could assume that the current trend will continue forever, but since religion relies so much on single anomalous events, ranging from the sparking of entire wars to the acts of a single person, you'd probably get a completely wrong answer. My answer: God knows. ;)
  7. It's probably not hard to edit them if you want to put in your own message.
  8. I think that revenants are a cool idea, but they've been made as a compromise between p2p PKers and f2p PKers, which causes contrasting problems for both, and they're still too based on the NPC model. The revenants in f2p shouldn't have any abilities which are members only, and should have on average weaker stats. The revenants in p2p should have more powerful abilities, like longer freezing and a teleblock identical to the ones players have, as well as on average higher stats. In both situations, they should both have the pathfinding algorithm which players have and should be able to run. Just because something is flawed doesn't mean that you should get rid of it, otherwise you just make more flaws and end up with nothing.

  10. You don't use 100% of your brain already? No one does. Careful with next answer. How much do we use then? *holds breath*
  11. Great idea. Call it 'The Big Fix Month' or something, just to provide a theme and focus to what they are going to do. Sometimes people value small fixes as much as big updates.
  12. I don't, but I would like to live for a long time, say, 1500 years. I don't think that I would be able to stand life after that.
  13. Wait, what? A positive thread about player maturity? This... this cannot be! I'm going to check this out. Now. EDIT: After some very brief perusing, I reckon there has been an improvement since I quit using the RSOF. But it's not that significant.
  14. Oh for God's sake, RS is one of the most alive MMOs out there. Before, the structure of the game was destroying itself, as RWTing and bots spread like cancer. Now, the structure is stable, albeit with a few easily solvable problems, like GE price inaccuracies.
  15. Erm, what is this doing here? This hasn't got anything to do with Runescape. Anyway, some ads really annoy me. 'Hi, I'm Barry Scott and I'm here to tell you about CILLIT BANG!' I mean, wtf? Am I supposed to know who you are?

Hah, I know how you feel. Compared to 18, being 16 feels weak. First thing I'd do on my 18th is buy lots of alcohol, a lottery ticket, and throw a freakin' huge party. I'll never smoke, it seems too boring to be worth the health effects, but I've got no problem with a bit of booze.
  17. Ponder this: How can there be any concept of Good if there is no concept of Evil? If there was only one path in life which you are forced to take, how can you say that what you did was good, or even evil for that matter? All you did was the standard action which was neither good nor evil because there was no choice in varying from what you are literally forced to do. By allowing the possibility of sin, God made the possibility of avoiding it. The nature of the sin is irrelevant, as the idea of the first one being stealing an apple is. What is important is our capacity to sin, as well as not sinning.
  18. Ugh, I remember having to do that every day when I had a bout of tonsillitis. It's horrible, but it works.
  19. A neighbour of mine fought in WW2 and stole a Nazi flag, which he still has to this day. I haven't seen it, though. It would be really interesting to see whether this thing would actually work. Even though it doesn't 'fly' as such, the question is whether the balloon would work for long enough for the guy to keep reasonable control and get out.
  20. To make it more successful. But then again, it can backfire. How many times do you think Britney Spears has been touched? Good point, but I don't think that putting in some better rewards will touch it that much. They should be more of a thank you present to die-hard fans than a purpose to the minigame, so they should cost a lot of tickets but be very useful.
  21. But the combat system is broken, and just because other aspects of RS are more important in proportion compared to other games, doesn't mean that combat doesn't deserve a revamp. I don't agree with a raise in level caps, getting 99s make the game enough of a grind already and only delays inevitable stagnation again. :| Totilliachp got it bang on. Make items weaker and the game harder. New functions to old areas, dynamic content, more activity to activity interaction. Weapons made from the same metal should never be more powerful than another in all situations. There should be no 'ultimate weapon', only a lot of really good ones. I would like to be able to break up and customise parts of weapons and armour as well, to adjust their focus. Defence, Strength, Accuracy and Speed should equally affect combat, with no inferior trait (e.g. Defence) and no superior trait (e.g. Strength and Speed) all the time. Luck should only decide the result if both opponents have about the same stats, equipment, tactics and style. Anything other than that, and luck should take almost no part. Better NPC AI is really needed as well, if they can't reach the attacking player, they should either find a way around in a similar way as the player movement algorithm or try to get out of the player's range, again using the same barrier avoiding algorithm. Put the potential for victory back into the player's hands. :) So many things can be done to make Runescape great again, the potential of this game is so high it's almost silly.
  22. I agree, those items actually should have been lost. The grave system is too sympathetic to the player who died, and not sympathetic enough to the person who found the deathpile in the first place.

At a certain point in the head, like where Peter shot him, it ruins his healing power and he wont regenerate. Like Claire in S1 when she gets that stick in her head. So if that bullet was removed, he would heal again? Better not take out that bullet. :ohnoes: I thought it was interesting that the Haitian has to put effort into his power blocking ability, I though it was merely a passive constant thing which was out of his control.
  24. Yeah, a lot of electrical versions of old tools get the old name carried on, so there's no need to stick on a new word to an object with the same function. A torch is something which provides constant light, so a 'flashlight', which produces a constant not flashing beam of light, should be a torch. In my opinion, a 'flashlight' should mean a stroboscope or similar. P.S. when the word 'mom' is said, it sounds forced and unnatural. 'Mum' is more flowing, which is much better.
  25. I have soup (like indy, Chicken Noodle is a hot favourite), some fruit, lots of water, and lots of rest. Ooh, I made a pun subconsciously! \
