  1. Mod Dlyan is still very much working for jagex, however he has changed job role. He is one of the most experianced and talanted developers Jagex had and he is now training new developers to a great standered. He still does developing but has much less time. I wish he would get a move on though! nearly two years now! he seemed to have got distratced by RFD and elimental workshop 2............... I fully understand that it is Dlyans prid and joy, but it needs more attention.
  2. You didn't answer a question that I asked, so I will ask again in case you missed it. How long do the black marks stay on a customers file? Oh sorry, they stay on account forever (expect in some exceptions - but I dont know the details of that so cant elaborate) Remember though it's not a case of "your account is 10% banned"...... it's more of we have warned you about this, it acts as evidance. I personally think if people have broken enough rules to collect 10 black marks they are really not good for the games community...... its not hard to follow a set of simple rules, I know people who where perm banned for repeatidly using offencive language....... they where simplay not willing to change there ways! fatpat, I understand when things are jokes, but it's always to think about how what you say could be interprated by otheres around you, and how evidance would look to Jagex. I will always try to include the fact that I am joking, or do things like that through privatce messages when I know the recipient will understand the joke..... Although I would always go with "phr33 st00f pl0x" or somthing that is annoying and noobish but not against the rules. I'ts a shame and should be learned from.
  3. Sorry dlainedee, I think you mis interpreated my wording, I was not getting offended at all. I was mere ly pointing out the fact you seem quite reluctant to accept any right doing on Jagex part, and so I felt it was not worth putting a large amount of effort to change your mind. You are correct, it is the pearents respoinsibilty to teach their childern web safty but lets face it........ they dont do it. It is a must to protect the community the adverage age of player ont eh game is 13-17, these people are really at the very bingining of learning web safty, and are probaly not playing under supervision. I know how dangerous the internet is, and people do follow links online and go where people tell them without any knowledge of what it is. It does happen alot more than you would think. We cannot know the safness of every website, and so we cannot tell is a harmless site posted ingame or on the forums is safe, and so it is important that we do not allow people to post any. With the low subscription cost of the game, and the game graphics RuneScape attracts less hardcore gamers, and often younger. These people are more at risk that say players of WoW because the majority of people are less experianced. I personally think I perm mute soudns a bit harsh for a first offence, however without knowing everything about the circumstances, and not knowing is jagex have a certain problem with that site I cannot say why the actions they took where taken.
  4. I like the way you always seem to add to your posts a line along the way of: dont try and disagree with me because I am right........ it is really not the way to conduct yourself. And YES that rule is there to protect players, I know the rule and it's reasons in very high detail..... although I am doubting it is worth explaining it as you seem adimant that you will not be agreeing anything pro jagex. I see it as a waste of my time to explain it for you, although if anybody eles whats to hear it they are free to ask.
  5. You seem to belive that paying $5 per month makes you all mighty and powerfull....... frankly this is not true! Members and non member should (and are) treated the same. Are you really trying to say that a member encoroging suiside should not be banned because they are paying a tiny bit of money? well what would happen if the person the insult was aimed at did actually hang them selves? This game has only last count 10million players, these people are of different ages, religions, soucal backgrounds, entelagent levels. Siome people are manic depersives (a high percentage than in real life which means over 1:100) somd are mental imature..... etc etc etc...... You cannot just assume people will take it as a joke! People MUST think about what they say before that say it! you dont know how things are taken.... aside from that joking about suicide is never funny, and shoudl be treated seriousally. I would not think a perm ban would be too far out for an offence like this.
  6. How can you say that?!? The one thing Staff never does, is confide with their mods about what actions they take against members. No way do they tell you who, what, when, where... so on... So you have no right to say they are right, have proof, or anything, because you really do not know. I know for a fact, without any doubts WHAT SO EVER, that they are quick to punish, without any proof. I'm not saying everyone is innocent, many are not. But, before I would condemn one innocent member, I'd give 1000 another chance... RS is going to end up on the wrong side of the BBB. It's just a matter of time. I hate to see that happen, it is a nice game. However, there is a lot of adults playing, and this is where RS needs to take time with their CUSTOMERS, and slow down with the banning and muting. It's one thing beeing a moderator, its anotehr being a normal player, you are correct Jagex will not tell us any customer details, and that is why I said I could not make a judement..... however I do spend alot of time on the forums, and so i see an above adverage level of jagex staff posts on the subjects. Some mods i dont know well enought to know their level of truth, but there are soem i see alot and respect I KNOW that dont lie (just too nice). Even the grand Mage Gower has stated many many times that they look into every case very carfully. Customer support means alot to the company, and they want to get it right! they dont ban without reasons.... sure occasionally the reason is human error, but this is rare. As a forum mod, I cannot ban without proof, if I did I would not be in the job very long........ everything we do must be justified and inline with our conduct...... we dont make it up as we go along as many people say. If you where working for jagex, and you had a report on the same issue 100's of times a day, where each inbox message you had to send needed to say the same thing and give the same infomaion, whilst remaining spelling and grammer perfect...... would you really want to give personal replies? in my opinion it would be a total and utter waste of their time. Jagex have much better things to do than mail 8k players a week with personalised replies explaining theya re perm banned for macroing!
  7. Do we know how long the gap is inbetween uses of the speical? and can if fire upto 50 specials when fully charged (guess)
  8. I have come accorss only one incident where a RWT ban was perhaps incorrect. Howvere hearing the evidance the the player (differnt account) I feel everybody would have baned the player. The account did recive money through RWT'ing directly for free froma through away account, but was unawre of it. the account banning was in all fairness correct, but the account owner was moraly innocent. Not sure if this makes any sence? but I would prefer not to go into too much detail about the case..... But I can accept some people banned for RWT where innocent, but often the evidance is so concluive against them the banning will always been considered correct. It's a shame but I dont think it's a rule where a benifit of doubt should be given, there can indeed be mistakes but imposible to spot mistakes.
  9. Oh sorry, hope I did not sound rude! of course there are alot of very constructive player on the offical forums who are not mods, lots of great fantastic people. To be honest with you though I fully support the ditch, it has it's negative points such as slower rcing time (slightly) but when you way everything up it's good for the sake of the community (also it was my friend who suggested it :P and i suggesed a certain eliment of it). When I said misguided I was meaning the people who have no clue what they are talking about, and there are alot of them. People who speak as if they know everything when they really really dont.
  10. Ah great! I was looking for somthing to read and these new letter type thingys will fill that patch! Welcome this would be your first times post? I hope to see many more :) Just to bring up the point of Rants vs compliments...... in any business there are mroe peopel complaining when somthing is done wrong then there are people saying "well done" when somthing is fantastic! It is nothing new, infact Jagex actually do quite well and the compliments forum is quite well used.
  11. It's an intersting question actually..... Personally I would liek to be rich, as I am mature enough to know how to use it. I dont buy skills, I work for them! I would not buy a skill as fankly it would ruin my sence of achivement. HOWEVER I like to know the money/items are there! if I need /want somthing new I can get it (after putting alot of thought into it)
  12. I would play it yes! However on a differnt note: I am not too happy witht he discussion of RS3, on the offical forums we dont allow it for safty reasons. It raises the profile of it as a possibility and some people go looking fo RS3, we all know it;s not there, but they end up on a hack site losing their account. I would appreciate it very much if you could update your first post to highlight the fact that it is not real, and Jagex have no intention of making it.
  13. Yeah that's true, usually people who get selected to be mods never disagree with what Jagex does, and if they do it's only very mildly. Jagex will never be willing to hire ppl to moderate. That's just the way it is. To be honest with you, as a forum moderator we Do complain a fair bit :P but the differnece is we complain constructivly. When Jagex do somthing I dont like they do hear about it, but unlike alot of people I will sit back and thing "why is this bad? is it bad for everybody or just me? can it be done better in the future" I think before I post, not just post which is a skill i wish some other people learnt. I do often however take the side of Jagex alot over that of a player, I know quite well how Jagex operate through my gaming experiance and so have alot of respect for them as a company. And actually the customer service is quite good! (if you want to see what real bad customer service is try and speak with HP computers :P). Alot of players are very misguided, and it is usually the mature players who can spot this and help corrrect them. This is why they gain moderator status..... because they are mature...... not because they think Jmods are gods.
  14. As we are unaware how the report system works it is best to report all you can. I heard once that it just sends a text based ovewview of what you, and the reported person was doing.... if so it would not get all of them.
  15. World 79, I find it a very nice community there :)
  16. Runecrafting any day! it's steady income, you are not destined to be a slave of the luck drop system. Sure it's possible to earn alot more in slayer, but it does not offer any security.
  17. You are only going to find guides if they exist. It may be worth you putting a "*" in your search as it will then look for names which are similar to your criteria.
  18. O O O pick me! pick me! I have one..... although it's nto all that good :(
  19. Jagex have stated many times that they do review every appeal made, if the evidance use to ban/mute/black mark you is not correct of presence the offence will be removed. However if the offence was correct the ban will be upheld.
  20. They wont have banned the accounts they have not found evidance on. Only they accounts they belived to have benifited from autoing will be banned. It is a possibility for human error in all cases and that is what the appeal is for, use the appeal and it will be looked into if a mistake has been made it will be rectified. As I have no evidance either way I cannot and will not make a judgment if I think you are innosent or not, but I will say that jagex are correct the vast vast majority of the time.
  21. Kick of this: Hello my name is Bobbington and I have a green background on the offical forums! The Pmod team and the Fmod team are very important to the community, and i am sure you know we do alot more than just lock stuff (or Pmods mute stuff). It is true that in the Pmod teams there are some definate mistakes, but this is to be expected in a team of over 6000 (?), The vast majority of bad mods are rooted out but there are some fairly wel know cases where they where not spotted  but thou shalt not judge! In the Fmod team there where 150 of us last time i counted (ish) of which a large majority are still active, and to be perfectly honest with you...... I trust and respect and trust every single one of them, there are no currupt moderators on our team, and of that I am proud :). A major reason why the Fmod team can be so long I although I am not sure how the selection prosess works, it is clear that everything we do on the forums while we are beeing selected can be watched. They know if we can do the job or not. Again I dotn know how it works, but I dont think they can be so sure in the Pmod team. But I still love the presence of the Pmod team, they are really good for the game community and help build and develop the rules. I still get annoyed when people think us moderators are just the WBM's who got modded, we are tottaly differnt and can spot a WBM for a while off. The problem is peopel whant to be a moderator for the wrong reasons, they think it makes them cool, and a better player (and they get phr33 st00f), but any of these players who get modded I guarentee would not like it, it is a hard job, and can come with alot of stress unless you want to be a mod as you truely want to help the community, I always though I would never be a moderator for various reasons but yet I knew I still wanted to help the community. So ratehr than wbm (I would ahve never done this anyway) I just tried my best to eb a good person and make a posertive effect on the forum community. I dont know the ins and outs of the Pmods role, but I am sure that the Fnod role is harder to do, the rules on the forums are far less black ont he forums than ingame, and there is far much more judgment we have to use. Once I made a spelling mistake in a thread I locked, as a dyslexic persona I am bound to make a the odd mistake. Becase i spelt "have" Haev" the player took it on himself to make 20 new threads about what an idiot I was........ not the nisest feeling and the player ended up with a ban rather than a warning (although i think he was aiming for one anyway) There is so much more resting on us in the forums, every mistake is looked at :( Pmods do a fantastic job though, there are soem bad eggs, and some do get modded for the total wrong reasons, but yet as a whole team they are needed, and I like them.
  22. Its Socks! 1. What is respect to you? The same as trust, I think the respect player are those who can be trusted. I respect community members, not people who are there to play the game so much as to play the game with others. The respect worth player should not purpousally make a move which detracts from the community. 2. How can you earn respect? Giving out phr33 st00f? I think more than respect beeing earnt, respect must be develped. You can make one move and then be respected because of that, it is not cause and effect. Respect is found by beeing a truthfull, well mannered well balanced and helpfull indevidual. 3. Because you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâhigh ranked̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ should you automatically be respected? Oh gosh no! look in real life....... Genorge bush would be seen as a "high level" does not mean people respect him (this was only an example dont fight back :P) Fame is not respect, respect is a whole differnt kettle of dodar! this does not mean that a high level cant eb respect, because then can! the thing is though they are different entiteies.
  23. It would not impact on the prices, sadly the fact in the majorty of the resourses come in via autoers...... the people using dragon pick axes will be using them for the extra xp, and not the extra profit...... having a dragon wood cutting axe is too expencive to actually gain you more money. I have my axe for the XP.
  24. I report eveybody I feel needs to be reported, however in a lot of circumstances I feel it is better to educate a player rather than report them. Sometimes reporting is just over reacting and expaining what they have donw will have a better effect than an inbox message from Jagex. But will definatly report when it's needed.
  25. One thing i would like to see (and it's only small) are unicorn horn drops from unicorns in F2P, although yes it's a small money maker for F2P the main thing i think would to make a members benifit. Unicorns horns are quite a hard resourse to harvest and i think F2P could really help adress the issue.
