Awesome Magazines?
I forgot. I get that one, since it's free and randomly has teasers for new Lego. Forgot about Discover, too. We got it for a year and didn't like it all that much, so we switched to PopSci. Er... How much is Shonen Jump? I seem to remember it being $30 or so... Yeah it is, and sadly my mom wouldn't pay for it. :P GameInformer looks interesting, is it worth it though if I'm only interested in Nintendo games/hardware? mental_floss looks cool too.

Guitar Hero/Rock Band Discussion thread
I want the GH6 controller. It's freaking awesome. Plus I need a new one anyway, I've got a mutilated Wii Les Paul (faceplate is stuck off due to wedged paper between neck and body because of crappy connections) because I can't stand the body of the GH4 one. Plus the setlist that's yet been released looks sweet. Now I just need $100. (I'll probably catch it on a November/December sale though...)

Awesome Magazines?
To be honest, that looks amazing... But it's $125 a year... I'm leaning toward Nintendo Power (:P) ($20 on Amazon) or Wired ($10 on Amazon).

Awesome Magazines?
We recently decided to get rid of our subscription to FamilyFun... So if I can find a cool enough magazine, we can subscribe to it. Currently the only one we get that I like (besides Muse) is Popular Science. My dad gets Golf Digest and Car and Driver; I get Muse (sort of a kids' mag, but awesome nontheless); my brother gets Odyssey and Boy's Life; we also get Diabetes Forecast and JDRF Countdown (diabetes mags) . But I want some awesome magazine like Popular Science, preferably full of geeky goodness (if the people at ThinkGeek published a magazine, that's what I'm talking about) or really bizarre science or something awesome. Things that would also be cool: Lego, ice hockey, soccer, Nintendo, anachronism/LARP/medieval/crazy ren fest goodness, just general awesomeness. I'd go for something in the $30 US or less/year range. Also then, what mags do you get that you like and actually read all the way through?

Help me
I know it's not, but yeah, it kind of has to be. He does or at least did, I'm now sure what programming languages he currently uses. I'll ask him when he gets home, but I figured I'd also ask you all because you're killer coding ninja monkeys.

Help me
So I need to learn C++. I thought I was taking it as a class, but at the moment it's not on my schedule. For our school's electrathon car, we're working on creating a computer controller that we can also pull all the data off of. So in addition to soldering (which I know how to do) I need to learn C++. My dad [probably] knows it, but can any of you recommend books/sites/tuts for very very beginners? My physics teacher says I need to know how to do everything up to classes (I do understand what they are, have no idea how to do it though). So any resources you can give me for learning C++ would be greatly appreciated.

Today...
I had a world history exam, a German party I missed because my physics teacher made me go listen to some engineering guys ramble on for an hour and a half about random stuff, a band exam that involved charting a marching band chart. Then I left and had a doctor's appointment. After that I went to Target and got a frikkin sweet watch; it's a Lego one with Commander Cody on it. I'm going to either try to finish my Fierce Deity Link papercraft or work on my duct tape Chuck Taylors yet.

Computer Lifespan
We have a Gateway 2000 running Windows 95 which still runs (but has been replaced) that is nearing 15 years. A Micron somethingorother running Windows 2000 that is nearing 11, a smallish Dell with XP that's about 2 years old, and a new Dell something with 7 that we just got to replace a Dell Inspiron 4300 that the graphics card overheated on that was almost 4 years. It depends on the quality, what you do with it, and what's in it (ie no not for laptops graphics cards in laptops)

School's (Almost) Out... Plans for the Summer
My last day of school is this Friday, the 11th; it's a half-day. Not looking forward to exams but looking forward to being done for the summer. Although I won't really be, as I've got AP Bio and Calc work to do over the summer, and I'm trying to test out of English 11... But at least there's no getting up at 5:30 anymore. I've got a half-finished something Deity Link papercraft on my desk, he's only legs at the moment, and I hope to finish building him soon. I'd also like to go to my local zoo, botanical gardens, and an art museum in the area to see the new exhibits. I'm going to camp again for CIT for two weeks, then hopefully spending more time up there playing with bottle rockets and such. I'd like to earn some money over the summer for some of the new Lego Kingdoms sets and possibly save up for a Zune. Oh and I need to see Toy Story 3.

Facebook problems
Hopefully you've done a forced refresh? (F5 on IE and FF, I assume it's the same on Chrome) That happens to me sometimes on FF and you just have to refresh it. If that doesn't work, delete all your cookies and try again. You might also try updating Flash/Java/whatever plugins Fb uses.

Post count
Completely OT: Killerred is only 23 days older than me. The main reason I'm making this post is to find out how many I have... I used to be excited and kind of spammy when I'd be about to hit a new rank, but since I became TET I can't do that anymore. Tbh, I don't notice post count or join date; I look at if I've heard of them often, so that does kind of contain both. But I won't not read a post just because it's from a newbie. And I am equally judgmental on everyone with regards to spelling and grammar errors.

The Recruitment Section
I think this is a really good idea, although it would probably require a complete revamp of the forum; ie all the topics would need to be reposted because moving them would probably be more trouble than it's worth.

Tbh I just throw my Chucks in the washing machine and wait for them to dry (tie the shoelaces first). If they've got tons of holes in them I might put them in a pillowcase first but they'd probably be fine.

Traditional Art
All stuff from my basic art class. My subjects appear to be focused on dragons... Oh and I took pics of everything since it obviously wouldn't fit in the scanner. Assignment: Color About 24x20 or summat Colored pencil Rainbow Dragon (for lack of a better name) Assignment: Pattern About 18x10? Colored pencil Flame Hoodie Assignment: Texture 10x10 Acrylic on canvas with bizarre paint-glue texture (which was red, and the acrylic didn't like it, which is why there are cracks) Ice Dragon Assignment: Animals in Charcoal About 20x11? Charcoal and pencil on craft paper Red-Tailed Hawk Assignment: Hands or Shoes on Scratchboard 8.5x11 Scratchboard Chuck Taylor Assignment: Hands in Oil Pastel 24x20? Oil pastel Anarchy I've also got a Mondrian wannabe, a 3D paper thingy of Da Vinci's horse, a papiermache/Styrofoam dragon, a clay dragon, and a charcoal/bleach drawing of Fallingwater if anyone wants to see them, I'll take a pic. Please use hide tags. It may be an idea to resize your images when you post scans/photos next time. -littleboy

Film, Music, TV & Author Discovery Search Site
I must confirm that the book/author search is just as good. The TV show search was kind of scary... Thinking that people who like to watch Good Eats also like The Angry Beavers (or something along that line) is eerie, but accurate. Other things happened with MythBusters and Bill Nye. btw: http://www.tastekid.com/hawkxs

The Style Thread
Question. Although I am a girl, I shall ask anyway as I figure you know as well as anybody. I need a preferably cheap dress watch, with a smallish face and preferably black leather band. It needs to be decent looking, and I can't find any that match this description. A men's watch would be fine, as long as the face isn't much bigger than an inch or so. I was looking at a sort of Timex Expedition type watch, although it seems all of those have crappy looking bands. Also, any suggestions on what to do if all the head holes (for lack of a better term) in your t-shirts are too big? Lately I've been bothered by this on just about all of my shirts, as I prefer a looser fit, but when I get bigger ones the head hole stretches out of shape a bit... And/or a place to get decent cool shirts cheaply? (Oh and I hate the 'babydoll' style shirts, they have no sleeves...) To be relevant... I have no style, being a girl and wearing essentially a ton of various guy's cargo pants and shorts in various shades of khaki, plus a pile of various black t-shirts, with three different pairs of high-top Chucks...

Summer time
Visiting my local zoo, botanical gardens, and a museum in the area to see all the new/special exhibitions as soon as school's out. Then CIT (Counselor in Training) for 2 weeks, with hope for some bottle rocket fun there. Then I'll probably be back and forth camp and home, and then a week on Mackinac Island. I have some goals: -Finish my Fierce Deity Link papercraft -Make a custom Lego minifig Red Wings goalie -Attend ren fests -Save money for a Zune I think those are it though.
