  1. I'm running Windows 2000 Professional (updated as much as it's possible for a 2000)... And we got a new monitor for Christmas. The monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 923NW (widescreen flatscreen LCD) and the prior monitor was the Micron one which came with the computer. Is there a way to change the aspect ratio (that the comp outputs) so the text isn't blurred and stretched?
  2. Try a little bit of blending. Duplicate the render layer and Gaussian blur the layer underneath, like a 10px radius and set it to IRR (or IIR I don't remeber... the on with the I and the R :XD: ) And this is totally the right place.

In a land not unlike ours, where human, elf, dwarf, and dragon lived apart, at least adknowledging each others presence, an elf was born... Yeah idk.

  5. Also... I haven't entered one of these in a while... We PM them to you, right?

Interesting idea. I have no good story ideas right now though...
  7. 'Lo. I could possibly do graphics and possibly some testing... Definitely imagining... Is that a word?

This(is a link) is what I do in my spare time. And think up stuff for my D&D campaign world. And occasionally come up with a really good story which I promtly forget.
  9. I always enjoy reading non-traditional stories. You should try a chatroom-style one, like that one author whose name I can't remember. Haikus would be good, if you could figure out how to tell a story using multiple haikus.
  10. A Wii, Guitar Hero 3 (WITH TWO GUITARS w00t!), Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Kart: Wii, and Wii Play. As well as the Nero battery charger thing, a Wii Wheel, a Nunchuk, and some pajamas... Also a 4GB flash drive, a head lamp, some Legos, a couple of keychain things, some candy... And I bought myself a 4GB Sansa Clip mp3 player three days before Xmas. :D Very happy with it. Brother and I played co-op for a while, beat the mode on easy, then cheated to unlock everything...
  11. The weird thing is I have issues downloading stuff from the Wii Shop Channel (gives error related to 'cannot get a good connection') but no issues with system updates/WiiConnect24/weather channel/news channel... But I think next time I download something I'll have to move it to the other TV... which is also widescreen... :
  12. I like tip.it a lot better. They seem to have more definitive guides, or at least their guides are easier to understand. There's the plus side of having great forums that are 'unrestricted' so to speak... I think at Sal's or RHQ you have to have certain post counts and other crap before you can post in areas... PLUS WE HAVE THE GALLERY, THE VARROCK LIBRARY, AND THE FALADOR LIBRARY!!!
  13. I think I may have replied to this already, but no harm in adding my two cents again. I would definitely use it, as I'm stuck with IE because my father thinks it's grand and wonderful. There are probably others in the same situation (no control over internet browser) who would be grateful to have it if it was added.
  14. So we got a Wii for Christmas. I set it up in our bonus room, where we have the extra TV and the GameCube. We have a wireless network set up about our house; I'm not sure what the connection rate is, but it's probably average for wifi access... Anyway searched for the connection with the Wii, it found it, but the connection is slow. This may be for two reasons: The house walls are made of concrete or because this is the first time everything's being used. Does anyone have ideas for speeding up the internet connection? Short of moving it to the other TV? Also I heard something about an Xbox and connecting it to a router, would that work with a Wii if I went and got one?

I'm being lazy, but go to
  16. Everyone thinks I meant rocks are supposed to be shiny... I meant that I'd like a shiny rock but this one isn't shiny. :
  17. NOD2's not going to work as it's about $90... Now I see why we have Norton even though it's insanely annoying... It's apparently almost as good as NOD2 but almost half the price. Also, I'm not sure, how is AVIRA free? When I go to the website, it says it's 39.95 euros... Which also doesn't really help me as I'd use USD... Am I looking at the wrong thing? I'm looking at the Premium Security Suite, http://www.avira.com/en/products/avira_ ... suite.html
  18. Today I added another option; I'll do GIF animated sigs and avatars and the like. Also have a great Christmas/whatever winter holiday you celebrate! \
  19. My dad is very paranoid about internet security and firewalls. He doesn't believe that one you can get for free will work/isn't a virus/can be better than one you pay for. We have 3 computers in the house, and the two with internet access have Norton Internet Security/Firewalls on them. I have been told (by Tifers) Norton eats memory. Also that free ones can be just as good or better. The third computer could be connected to the internet, (we have wifi in the house) but my dad (and I) don't want to connect it without a firewall/virus scanner on it; but I'm willing to use a good free/cheap one whereas he isn't. So good suggestions for free/cheapish firewalls/internet security suites you can get? Also ways to persuade my dad to buy/download them and actually use them on the third computer? I think this may not be the only reason he won't connect it to the interwebz though... My brother has had a history of issues with the internet... :?
  20. Rock is nicely shaded. Also has some realistic texture. Sadly, rock is not shiny.
  21. I will say (in respect) archimage_a... he puts up with a lot of crap and random stuff from me, and he's pretty awesome. Also littleboy is very awesome and I have immense respect for him as an artist. But in lulz that must be a tie between hiimben and dragoonson.

Yeah. I spent hours making it show up correctly in that crappy browser. :| Do the post buttons change when you mouseover them? I don't have a copy of IE6 to try it on... Yes, they do, and I must say the 'glow' looks SWEET.
  23. Hawks replied to dsavi's topic in Art and Media
Looks great and is better than the previous one (at least on IE). :D
  24. Cool, I got it today, it's been charging on my non-internetified computer... but I'll download the update on my other XP and get it on that one. Was going to do that already but my brother's on the XP with internet... This one's 2000... Which you can't even download 10 for
  25. I am looking at this mp3 player: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Sansa-Cli ... QK344MB5FM It has everything I wanted (basically 4GB space, plays WMA + FM radio) and is only $50. It's also on sale this week at Best Buy so I can go buy it and not wait for shipping. I have a question related to WinXP; the mp3 player requires WMP10 or above. I can go to the windows website and download WMP10 for XP Pro SP2, right? I think I'm running WMP9... Has anyone had issues with this type of mp3 player? Anyway, thanks and have a great holiday! \
