1. Gift cards are always good. So is food. Find out what her favorite sort of food is and get some or get a gift card to a resturant that has that sort of food.
2. What dragoonson said.
3. Encourage them in whatever they want to do, unless it's illegal. Read to them A LOT. Try to do stuff that they want to do. Fun outings, go to the zoo, go ice skating, whatever. Follow the 'Love and Logic' disipline model. Basically it's appearing to care while not caring. i.e. The kid wants to wear stripes and plaid and you say you can wear one today, and the other tomorrow. etc.
4. We're limited to those four gods?... Name: Hawk Age: 126 Race: Elf Class: Ranger Wields: Long and Short Swords, Longbow Inventory: Signet ring, Items' Powers: Meh... Sorry, know I'll be playing and I'll update this as soon as I do a little research.
5. I've lost a bit, but is Elfday one of the days of the week? If so can we get all the names?
6. Sorry it's not great. What program are you using? a) Don't use things ripped from RuneScape unless you're going to be constructive with it. B) If you're trying to make it look like RS at least use the RS font. c) Save as high quality jpeg or png. Looks like you killed it by saving it as low-quality jpg.
8. Being smart, a total geek (I play D&D, obessed with medieval europe), playing hockey/obsessed with hockey.
9. 2/10 don't like Stewie  Oops that was for the other guy... You get 8/10

 Pie btw I don't have a santa hat on that one yet. EDIT: ah it's there now :uhh:
11. That's cool... I was being lame... :-#
12. I wouldn't ever sell my account. But if it could be sold... I wouldn't sell for less than a few hundred dollars, as I've spent the time to get every untradeable holiday item except the zombie head, scythe, and bunny ears. I've got not-so-great skills but they're okay... And a rune h4 shield... I'm f2p. 8-)
13. The untradeable holiday items should be made lendable/borrowable. But not tradeable. This would make a lot of people happy, as those with lots of holiday items could lend them and make a few gp at the same time (ask for money to lent, so basically 'renting' the items) and those without them could borrow the items.
14. GASP! He was ambushed from behind! What else is new... -.-
15. I had one today! It's been snowing since about 3-4AM and it's now 10:30 and it's still snowing. We've got like three or four inches already and apparently it's supposed to get worse! 8-) O:)
16. On the previous thread I talked about userbar things: If you'd like it in a different color, PM me and I'll do it. (will edit this post with the new color) Same here; if you want a different color, PM me.
17. Maybe now my dad will finally download FF... Although I doubt someone's going to go to the bother of hacking IE6 on a Win2000... Although I'm not sure what Ouchy's talking about... It's definitely the worst out there, but I've never had any problems other than it can't deal with transparent .pngs... and actually IE7 can... although that's the one with the big hole... That people would extort (? right word... idk)
18. Reward was okay... However I don't blame Jagex for that. I do like the ice amulet though. I did not enjoy traipsing about RuneScape having to ask the snow imp if it was hotter or colder... Took me about an hour to find Jack. I don't like inane pointless things... I like games or things where you make stuff and then you get different amounts of rewards based on how much you did (like in 2005; four levels of rewards, and two different types; scarves and hats. needless to say I got all eight...) Also yeti cave was equally pointless and stupid.
19. Desktops are easy to upgrade, you can add more memory easily, and they're relatively cheap. You do have to buy the monitor, keyboard, speakers, and mouse (usually comes with it though). Unless you're buying a really nice laptop, desktops are generally better for gaming because they are easily upgradeable, you can add a good graphics card/more memory/etc. easily and cheaply. - Also, you usually get one CD/DVD drive, perhaps space for another in addition to a 3.5" drive. Also last much longer, you'll get more bang for your buck- We have a 14-yr-old Win95 that still runs fine (although we've replaced it with a 2000- but also all the accessories still work (probably the monitor's an energy hog though...)) They're generally easier to hook up to printers and routers and such as you don't move them. Laptops are sort of all-in-one packages... Personally, I prefer the keyboards on laptops, although I could probably find a laptop-style keyboard if I wanted to. They're harder to add memory to, usually that involves plugging in an external hard drive (whereas you can put the hard drive in the desktop). Laptops usually have inane amounts of USB ports, and your average desktop has 2-3, but you can get expanders (? USB docks? idk) for them. You don't need a keyboard/monitor/speakers and you can get a mouse if you want. Laptops usually have one CD/DVD drive and in my experience, no 3.5" drive. They're portable, but if you buy a decent one it usually ends up relatively big. Most have some sort of wireless ability/Bluetooth enablement as well.. Desktops Pros - Easy to upgrade, cheap to buy. - Perhaps space for additional CD/DVD drive. - Lasts much longer than laptops - Easy to hook up printers and such and leave them there. Cons - Slightly bigger (most aren't that big anymore, it's just transporting the other crud around) - Must use monitor/keyboard/etc - Can't be moved easily. - Have internal heat regulators that can get loud... Newer models, not so much. ----------------------------- Laptops Pros - 'All in one' package, no extras needed - Portable - Usually have some sort of wireless 'enablement' - LOTS OF USB PORTS! Cons - Near impossible to permently upgrade, options are usually external hard drive - Limited to one internal CD/DVD drive, no 3.5" drive - Do get hot after a while, occasionally fan is annoying.
20. I'm always wearing my coolest clothes. Tri-jester Hat and Scarf FTW! Along with Fighter boots 'cause I like how they look and Safety Gloves 'cause they match... along with the warlock cape from halloween, and occasionally other random holiday/random event clothes... Probably because all I have for armor/weapons is a rune chain, rune h4 shield, and mith scim...
21. Mine. "Gah... What happened?" he woke up groggily. His body ached all over and he could feel more than one bruise. Apparently, he'd been attacked to the head; his vision was not yet clear, and he couldn't concentrate enough to be bothered to care. He shook his head a bit, in an attempt to clear his sight. Looking about, he realized he must be in some sort of cell. Yes, that was it. A thick wooden door with a barred window, cold stone walls and floor... What's this? In his attempt to stand, he realized that at some point, he had been given manacles which were attached to a bolt near the door. He jumped, having heard a dull thump, as if his jailer was approaching. He half-crawled, half-ran to a corner of the cell to better defend himself and searched for his weapon... Which was not where he had left it. He realized the manacles had come off at some point, so he stood up. Having walked to the door, he gave it a gentle nudge which confirmed that, for whatever reason, it was open. Outside the cell, there was a wooden desk with a rusty old lamp burning down. And there was a book. He felt compelled to open it, but it also seemed as if it should not be opened. Giving a slight shudder, he moved the book closer. It was very old, and covered in a dark leather. It had no title. It gave him that feeling again, "I shouldn't be doing this..." But he did. He opened the book. The pages were crinkled old parchment, he moved them delicately for fear of destroying them. It looked like a diary, although there were just three entries. The handwriting seemed familiar, and it drew him in, so he no longer felt worried about reading it. At the house. There's nothing here. It's empty. I don't know why I even got the contract. Well, I do... The pay's good. Well, it's late, I guess I'm sleeping here. He says not to sleep upstairs, but the rest of the house creeps me out... The walls are watching, they're always watching... The ceiling is about the freakiest thing I've seen, and those rooms are gigantic. Yeah, no way I'm sleeping down here. Second day. Did not sleep hardly at all. Walls were indeed watching. They are always watching. Glass was moving in the hall... Freakish. No more sleeping upstairs, must sleep in basement tomorrow. Have to search again anyway. Still very creepy. Also can't touch black books, don't sleep upstairs, don't touch the glass after dark, AND DON'T STARE AT WALLS. Broke one old man rule, was bad. Don't want to break more. Leaving tomorrow though. House is too creepy. Last day. Can't forget to leave. Dungeon too cold to think. Nothing in house, waste of time. Touched a black book by accident, can't be that horrible. Leaving now, hope horse is The nice handwriting broke off there, leaving a rough script. YOU DON'T LEAVE. YOU STAY, FORGET. REMEMBER. LIVE. DIE. I WATCH YOU. MAKE YOU STAY. MAKE YOU LIVE. FORGET. REMEMBER. I TORMENT YOU. Ariska n'arkukat mohtan takuns. Gtrameir tonegr argor neihg! Tomena nieht- He shut the book with a gasp, realizing he had pronounced the strange words perfectly... And had been shouting. Something wasn't right. It had to do with the book... Why was he here? He should leave. In fact, he decided to go do that now. He climbed up the stairs, into an elaborate entrance hall. The hall was constructed of dark marble, with pillars supporting the stained-glass ceiling. The glass was a dark blue, and faded towards the edges. The ceiling shifted, perhaps due to the the light, but it chilled him to the bone. The shape he could not recognize, but struck so much fear in him he nearly fainted. It disappeared after a moment, and he wondered why he feared it, but he forgot it had even happened a bit later. It was late, he realized. The jailer would be returning soon... He could continue his jaunts, if he truly wanted to... This house scared him greatly, but he did not leave, for some strange fascination with it. He did glance at the lamp, and noticing it had almost burned down, he descended the stairs, placed it on the desk, and slipped into his cell. "Gah... What happened?" he woke up groggily. His body ached all over and he could feel more than one bruise.
22. ^ I'm not totally sure about the shading... (I suck at it) But I think I was going for somewhere above the guy?... And then where natural light would give shadows (the edges of things... like on the shirt sleeves...) I dunno, someone good at pixeling help with a light source please?
23. If I get around to it, I'll take a look and try to rewrite it although it'll probably suck.
