  1. Sort of a good idea for a topic but it's not really working out. needs to be tweaked a bit. Humans are the most advanced species basically because of our brains. The only argument iv seen on the other side is that other species are more advanced because of their physical capabilities. In terms of being "advanced" I see that as intelect and not perhaps how strong. If someone were to put me in a cage with a gorilla the gorilla would tear me apart. Now if somebody placed a gun on the ground who's going to figure out how to use it? Let this topic die.
  2. Well the whole theory behind vegetarianism/veganism is the whole supply and demand thing. If half of the world quit eating meat the companies would only have to kill half the animals. True just one person not buying meat dosent make a HUGE difference but it does make a small dent. Also, (trying not to make a huge deal about it since most people already realize it anyway) facts become more believeable with sources.
  3. Plants can solve puzzles in much the same way animals do. In most cases animals require some kind of reward to motivate them into doing a puzzle (usually food), if you put a plant at the bottom of a maze and shine a light through it, the plant will successfully navigate the puzzle. Is the plant truly thinking, depends on what you call thinking. Not really into biology but isn't that just the plants growing toward the light? If you have a site of some kind of refrence I would like to see it it does sound interesting.
  4. Little background-Gotten crap pretty much all of my life for being a vegetarian. Been one since I was about 4-5 maybe(17 now), that's the farthest I can remember. My dad's one, mother and sister couldent care less about the animals. One thing I don't understand (maybe it's because I don't eat meat on a regular basis), I don't get this "it tastes good argument." These are living creatures. I understand it can be incredibly hard for people to give up meat, my dad even lapses from time to time (he, unlike myself was raised on it so I'm guessing it's harder). Now this whole "Plants are living thing too!" crap. Plants cannot think (to my knowledge. I learn new things every time I check this board so...). Yes, they have nervous systems. Some things are inevitable. We need to participate in the food chain. In my opinion you really just have to go by how developed the species is (as in plant->insects->birds>mammals). Yes other animals try to kill us and If I met a hungry bear in the woods it may try and kill me. The problem I see with this is that humans are intelligent. We have evolved to be so far above a bear. I see it as sort of a older sibling sort of thing. We should watch out for our younger brothers and sisters since they cannot defend for themselves. You're baby brother who pees on your homework doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know any better does he? Finally, animals testing. On this one I'm probably just where most people are. No for cosmetics, yes for human life. Almost always vegetarians and vegans would pick human lives over an animals life. Only in the most extreme cases would you find otherwise.
  5. Never played magic the gathering. Always seemed to complicated. Weird coincidence. If it's the underground games pro tour one (I just looked up underground games, found the site, and saw the tournament). My dad works in that plaza in the office area. I actually checked the place out a few days ago when i was doing some chores with my dad. Sorry If I sound like a stalker just thought it was weird.

The "being able to do whatever I would want thing" could be double-sided. Think about it lets say i'm supposed to die when I'm 50 but I try to kill myself at 30 with a gunshot to my head. Most likely I wouldent die but fate could have me stuck on life support for the next 20 years. I just realized though that that's sort of a movie kind of perspective. For that to be true I would have to believe in fate (which I don't know). Just addding thought.

My parents have decided for me that I'm going to do this program this summer. They say that it'll be great on my college transcript. At first I hated the idea, taking my chances with complete strangers. The more I thought about it the more I started to think of all the possibilities. My parents have told me I can pretty much choose any program out of the booklet. The thing I can do include rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, and much more. Most include a solo which sounds pretty cool. My dad did this when he was my age. Just wanted to know if anybody here has done this program (or similar programs). Tell where of course, how long (I'm thinking about 2 weeks), and what kind of stuff you did.
  8. I saw the movie on friday. It is now in my top 5 maybe 6 favorite movies ever. The thing I liked about it was it was so balanced. It had just the right amount of everything (unlike the unending nonrealistic fighting of the matrix). p.s- I actually liked the matrix, it's just that the fighting gets really stale after awhile.
  9. Nice music. My favorite was Counting to Zero. Not a big fan of techno but it had such a happy feel I coulden't help it.
  10. From what I remeber I sort of got into this one spot near the bridge that I got into that he couldent hit me in.
  11. Chuckee Cheese ftw! But seriously. ^_^ She likes you enough to go out with you and you should feel comfortable talking to her. :D Just get up your courage, and be her friend. I know it's intimidating, but it's not that hard at all. Exactly what went though my mind when I saw that comment. It's like you're my innner child.
  12. Mae's come here a few times to play. Pretty good. Not exactly my taste but I do have to say that they have one of the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard.
  13. I think it's just considered a sequal to it's predecessor.

Some people can't cope with life it's just the way it's going to be. I understand what you're saying about how much "better" he was off than in some third world country but I think it's also important to realize that different people value different things. I know I'm going to sound like some dumb first year psychology student (because I am) but people generally report the same levels of happiness. By the way I'm not even sure If I believe in this. Everything that I said is if it's true.
  15. WOW That was awsome. I havent been scared like that in a long time. The timeing on the one I did was perfect. Right on the 3rd level when your half-way though the thing. I even knew it was coming but for just that one second that I dropped my guard it scared the crap out of me.

I understand that I may not be the best driver but I live in an area with lots and lots of long roads with houses far back and long driveways (country bumkin). These cops are catching people like flies. I went around the corner and when I came back he had another mom in a minivan. My dad said when he came home he saw the cop with another person. I didn't know traffic school was only six hours that dosent seem bad at all. Probably just boring.

Having this be my first firday off for wrestling in four months I decided to do something fun. I wanted to try and make a few friends. I have a few kids that I talk to during lunch that invited me to go to yoga with them today at the YMCA right outside my neighborhood. I was a little late (went on a run) so I was going a few miles over the limit. I get to this section of our neighborhood thats the last few yards till the main street. Stopsigns on all sides so who wouldent go a little fast? BAM a cop hiding on the side turns his lights on and has me pull over. Turns out I was going 15 m.p.h over the limit and I just recieved my first ticket. I now have a few choices- 1.Go to court and try and get it dissmissed 2. Take a class or 3. Pay the ticket and get the points on my license What my dad told me we're going to do is talk to one of his friends that's a lawyer and try to see what we can do. I just don't want my clean record dirttied (sp?) I'v never even been talked to by a cop before. By the way I am not a bad driver. They caught my mom in the exact same area a couple of days ago. On my way back I saw he had another one. It's been this way for awhile a whole bunch of people I know have been caught. Any ideas on what I should do? Also I need some people to just rant with me about how low speed limits are in some neighborhoods. The limit was 25. It seems like I can ride my bike faster than 25.
  18. Not getting arrested also has it's good points ;) But what if the law was and had always been that we didn't have to wear clothing? If everybody else was doing it would you?
  19. Lets see- I'm the laziest kid when it comes to clothing (unlike my sister who has a room with clothes actually bursting out of her closet and bags all over the floor). I hate shopping for clothes, seems like such a waste of time. Anything that costs of $30 better be one amazing jacket. I have a few just plain one color shirts from fruit of the loom or somthing. A dum-dum shirt (saved up the wrappers) and a blue ridge mountains shirt thats starting to get holes in it. Shoes are conformist I guess since everybody wheres new balance but what can I say of all the shoes I tried they fit the best. With the pants department I'm screwed. I finally had to stop wearing my jeans (holes in knees getting way to big). Now I have a pair of kakkis (sp?) from old navy that I wear everyday (don't worry I wash them every few days). If anybody could tell me what I am I would really like to know. I see people wearing the same types of clothes all over the place. Think about it, the kids wearing "unique" things like goodwill shirts, the band kids (hair style including), and of course the abercrombie/hollister/american eagle crowd. I probably shouldent even be talking about clothes anyway. My dad has had a bit of an influence on my beliefs regarding even wearing them (He says that we should only wear them for warmth).

I know parts where shot somewhere in North Carolina. I went on a hayride though the area.
  21. Saw something about this in a magazine a long time ago, nintendo power or something. From what I remember the game consisted of falling into some kind of hole and that was it. Not sure if thats it but I think it had something to do with a pit or hole.
  22. I went though a child in time phase awhile back.
  23. http://www.purevolume.com/mickeybiscuit ... ristaction I don't actually play in it (not good enough), but I do help with the recording. If if anybody wants the my.space it's pretty obvious. Two of the band members are my neighbors.
  24. Good advice but the only thing I would change would be the adding 5 to each number daily. Try to take it a little slower. Perhaps 5 more a week?
  25. Pretty sure that the order that they came out in was Manhunter (1986), The Silence of the lambs (1991, Hannibal (2001), then Red Dragon (a remake of manhunter imo much better) (2002). IThe only one I havent seen is Hannibal. I just saw se7en 2 days ago I would say it's a better movie. It just seems like a higher class (probably because of Morgan freemen)
