Mage is the most expensive combat skill overall, and still deals the least amount of damage. Melee, there are godswords. Sure they cost a lot, but they don't degrade or anything, and they can deal heavy damage. (70+). Range, there's darkbow, which can deal over 80 damage with its spec! And, also, broad-tipped bolts. Can deal 25+ damage, and they are pretty cheap. And then there's mage. The best spell, ice barrage, can deal 30 damage to 9 people, but what are the chances of that happening? Also, it's 2k per cost, which is pretty expensive. And for all of you saying miasmic barrage is overpowered, it freezes for 48 seconds, think about the cost of the staff. It's 7.5 mil for one hour... And the 15 minute staff costs 900k. I mean, sure it can do some good damage, but it rots away in no time. Also, take into account that mage is the only combat skill where there is no special attack. Range has magic shortbow, magic longbow, dark bow, seercull, etc. Melee has godswords, dds, d long, d scim, dragon 2 h, granite maul, anchor, etc etc. Magic has none. Zero. Zip. Zilch.

Very nice guide. It helped me a bit, and I'm sure it will help countless other people. The people I find the most pathetic are the ones with good ip but still suck. It's just so sad, they have good ip, but can't do anything else. They make me laugh. And yes, there are stackers everywhere. I just hate the ones that brag about it when they stack and beat you. I mean, weren't you supposed to beat me?

I remember this summer I got a champion scroll killing a hobgoblin at rock crabs. The hobgoblin was agressive and it attacked me so I killed it and it dropped a champion scroll lol. What are the chances?

Pfft, prayer was killed the day construction came out. May 31, 2006. I still remember when less then 21 people had 99 prayer. That was back when RS2 was just released.

Man I miss the days of Castlewars when DDS and Whip were mainly used for getting the flag. Nowadays it's ZGS and ice barrage. I remember back in the day, ice barragers were rare, and there were no familiars to help you out. Now CW is filled with SS and GS and titans and Armadyl armor.

There should be more bounty hunter worlds and a few more craters. I would prefer the old wildy, but whatever.

That is crazy! Highest AGS spec I seen in CW was a 70, and it was on me lol. Here's my achievement: Gold kiteshield! Took a year to get.

You know you're old school when you remember the time when santa hats were 200k. Those were the days.... I remember someone saying "Selling Santa, 200k!!!!!!!!!!" I was thinking to myself, "Wow, 200k??? That's impossible! I will never make 200k!!!!" Back then, moneymaking was 10 times harder then now. Runecrafting hadn't even come out yet. But, now, yea, 200k isn't that hard to make. You know you're old school when you remember that there was no use for a high agility level. You couldn't run or anything. The only point was shortcuts, but even then, it wasn't worth it. You know you're old school when the number 1 ranked player had around 1400 overall. Yup it's true. I forgot his username, it had Jagex in it or something, but he had around 1400 overall. I didn't really look at the highscores much back then. You know you're old school when seeing a level 100 was RARE. Back then, seeing a level 100 was rare. There was no Pest Control, no Gilded Altars for prayer, no Summoning. Leveling combat was at least 50 times harder then it is now. I remember when I saw the prayer highscores for the first time, only around 15 people had 99 prayer! Nowadays, there's over 4,000 people with 99 prayer!

The day my defense was last ranked was in 2006, when they last updated the highscores. I would never expect to see it ranked again, but here it is. Rank 1,785,000. Pretty amazing eh? They should have kept it at 1,000,000.

I think the new graphics will attract more people. But, there will still be the gamer who goes "Wow, these graphics still suck anyways". It will be interesting to see the "new version" of Runescape.

Halw Gnun was insane, getting 200 mil herblore exp. Larryr was also insane, getting 1 mil rc exp for weeks and weeks, and he quit in January 2007. Still, after a year, nobody's close to him. I would like to see someone get 200M hitpoints exp, that would require a lot of combat! As for 200M slayer exp, I highly doubt that will ever be done, since slayer takes a long time to raise.

Con-A level 100 with 1 summoning would destroy a level 100 with 99 summoning if they fought in Duel Arena.

Hmm, it's either gotta be removing staking, removing wildy, or changing pc. It's a hard choice between those 3...... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . oooo, the "Most useful update" Umm, I gotta say, the Grim reaper hood?

Your friend is.......weird......to say the very least. He should spend time training other skills then trying to hunt for summoning clues. I think Jagex thinks this skill will be a "Instant hit" so thats why they are leaking a little bit at a time to build up the suspense. I remember in one of the Diaries, a Jagex mod said "Summoning is the skill people have been waiting for." So I'm sure they are expecting a lot of people to love it.

Are you serious? I never knew we could use cannons in PC! It's kinda risky though, cause if you go away for like a min and your team wins, you lose your cannon. :|

Barraging in a crowded CW world (for example, world 24 or 82) gives you really good exp.

I think it was the Runescape community. I remember back in the old days Jagex released 2 quests a month, and that was it. People kept complaining to Jagex to release better and bigger updates. Now Jagex finally listens and realeases big updates, but nobody is happy. : :(

The only thing that will drop is the money Jagex will be making per month.

If they make a CW update that's bad, I'm quitting fo sure. Now I'm 50/50.

The only thing I have sold so far are my empty vials. Sold some for 111 gp each.

The new Bounty Hunters Minigame sounds awesome!!! It will be like Manhunt assassination!

Right now I'm currently Woodcutting yews to get some money. I might spend some on Summoning.
