Issue in Iraq - Updated Again!
Okay, to be honest I didn't want to read 10 pages of posts, so I am sorry if I repeated what has been said already. This is to the original poster of this thread. You says Bush is a "Texan goof-ball" correct? I believe Bush went to some ivy league school, like Harvard correct? I'm not 100% sure if my facts are correct or not =s. You can't get into such a prestigious school like Harvard for being a "goof-ball," much less being the president of the United States. What I can't stand about those of you who criticise Bush for every little thing he does, is that none of you seem to remember he is only human. All humans make mistakes. You all make it sound so easy to be President, yet I bet you haven't bothered to even think how hard it must be. As for enjoying it when Sadam was in control, if you like being a robot, then I guess that's cool, but I guess America figured not everyone enjoys having no freedom. But I guess if you like that, you are entitled to your own opinion.

Sounds of Hell
Sorry but I couldn't help laughing a little when I read this Well I guess it's just what I believe, but Hell isn't literally a physical place at the center of the Earth. I think some people take the Bible too literally and when they think "heaven = up and hell = down" they think in the literal, physical sense, which I don't think is what the various authors of the Bible meant when they were talking about hell. But I guess that's a matter of theology. But I agree with Anesthesia. And who's to say the people that heard people screaming in the recordings don't have some kind of mental thing going on? Also, I would like to see the "thousands and thousands of miracles recording from all around the world."

GM foods!
Yes I know it's a continent, excuse me for making a mistake. I think you might be taking my posts the wrong way, like I'm flaming you. But I'm not, just to clear that up. If there are enough roads to get to all of these villages, which can't really be proven, there probably aren't nearly enough trucks or truck drivers that can distribute the food all through out the continent. It would take many years to get food to all of the places that need it, and by the time all the food was distributed, they might need food again. Instead of just giving them food, they should recieve the means of making their own food. Kind of like that saying about instead of giving someone a fish, teach them how to fish because that will last them a lifetime, or something along those lines. Also, what do you mean by "my backyard doesn't have a road either"? I don't know many people that have roads connected to their backyards. I never said I believed that, but I guess you are right. I can't even estimate close to how much money it would cost in materials like fuel, and salaries to pay those who drive the ships/trucks, but it more than likely would cost up to hundreds of millions of dollars. And this is another argument all together, but is it our responsibility to get food to these other nations? I would argue it isn't our job to feed every single starving village in the whole entire world. If anything we should teach their government to be able to help these starving villages. If we are talking about places in the U.S, or wherever else you guys live, then I think that our government SHOULD get the food to these people, even if it costs millions of dollars(no where near as much as it would cost to ship food overseas). The reason I brought up Africa I guess is that on the first page most of the people that posted were bringing up Africa, so I figured it would be good to continue on the subject of Africa. As for world hunger, I think it's the responsibilty of each countries' government to take care of their hungry citizens. Does that mean we can't try to help these other nations? No, but we don't need to feel obliged to feed the whole world. By the way, sorry that this is kind of off the main subject of GM crops. Maybe we should just make a new topic debating if it's the responsibilty of the "developed" nations to address the issue of world hunger.

GM foods!
Excuse me, maybe I should have clarified. I mean transfering food ACROSS SEAS to people in say, Africa. Even if it wouldn't cost millions of dollars just to ship food across the ocean, how would the food get distributed to the homeless people in Africa? It is a DEVLOPING country, and a lot of places there don't even have roads. How do you expect the trucks to distribute the food to these places in the middle of no where? Just think about how much it would cost though. It's not exactly cheap to A. put the food onto ships B. the fuel/crew costs of moving a ship across an ocean C. unloading the food D. somehow distributing the food. It just doesn't make sense. Do you get where I am going? I should have clarified, but I thought it was already known we were talking about Africa. My apologies.

GM foods!
No it's not. Moving the food around is the least of the problems. Stopping it being syphoned off, getting it donated rather than binned and generally getting people to give a damn about their fellow mankind are far bigger obstacles. How is moving food around not a problem? I think it would be just a bit difficult to transfer enough food to feed hunreds of millions of people, don't you? Soul is exactly right though. For all scientists know, it could even create some kind of "super weed" since the weeds might eventually build up some kind of reistance to whatever the GM crops are using to repel weeds. It's not possible to predict.

GMU Final Four!
Luck that UCONN scored that many points to tie the game? It's expected from UCONN to do that, as they have amazing talent on their team, not to mention that they were leading the whole entire game. So I guess that last ~45 seconds of the game may have been luck, but not really because they have consistantly done that throughout the season. That's why they are the number one team; they are supposedly better than everyone else. IMO the season records reflect on who the best team is, as opposed to the NCAA tournament. Yes spirit and morale count a lot in sports. What you said was true. I guess I just hate it when teams win because of "spirit and morale" rather than actual talent.

College acceptance!
Wow, congrats to the people who have gotten accepted into college already! I'll be a senior next year, so I have visited a couple colleges here in North Carolina. My number one choice is UNC Chapel Hill, the hardest state school to get into, I believe. If I don't get into there(I'm not sure what my chances will be for that), I will probably go to UNC Asheville, the third hardest state school to get into, behind N.C State, if I get in lol. These are all I have in mind for now. I'm taking my SATs next Saturday, so hopefully that will go well. I got about the equivalent of a 1250 on the old SAT on my PSAT I took Sophmore year, so hopefully I'll improve at least 50 points. I have a lot of community service mainly from things I have done with my youth group at church, and I enjoy to play sports. However, my class rank isn't very high, lower 60s out of 400ish students, but that was before I was able to take AP classes. I get A's and B's with the exception of C's this year in AP english. So hopefully my community service and SAT scores will outweigh my class rank.

School bus execution
Honestly, it's kind of his fault; I mean it's kind of stupid to stick your head out the window enough to reach branches, and even stupider not to pull your head in when you see them coming. And spitting on cars? How old are you guys, like 13 :x . These guys on my bus on the way to the Career Center place(where AP classes are offered), these morons throw stuff out the window and try to hit cars, and laugh like idiots when they hear the dink of the objects hitting the car. If you're laughing at that, in my mind, you are almost as guilty as the one who threw/spit out of the window, becuase you are "egging" them on. However, that's a really gruesome story, and I'm interested to hear if he really is dead or not, and if so I'm sorry to hear it. And sorry to say, while he might not have deserved to be seriously injured, he deserved some kind of punishment for spitting on cars :? Also, parts of your story sound kind of fake, or at least overexaggerated(sp?). It doesn't seem like anyone would get that done to them(face mangled by branches while riding a bus), though it is believable. But where you say the second the guy saw his face he threw up on him sounds kind of iffy, though still slightly believable. It seems like if that really did happen to that guy, he would die almost instantly. I don't know.. Maybe I just don't want to believe something that disgusting actually happened to a human being, or any creature for that matter. Sorry about my lengthy post :?

GMU Final Four!
I don't think anyone has heard of GMU before this year. I hate it when people say GMU beat the defending champions, because really they didn't. Carolina only *had* ONE guy from the championship team last year(Noel); the rest are freshman/people that didn't play much last year. Oh, and Roy Williams, the coach. Honestly, I don't think GMU deserves to get as far as they have gotten. I mean during the regular season they weren't very good, now all the sudden they are beating top teams in the nation? The only reason they have one games, in my opinion, is because of what the strongly biased announcers have said about them. Their enthusiasm. They beat UCONN because they were the home team, and the only way they can do good is if they get momentum going. They don't really have any star players on their team. They just get lucky and have extremely high shooting percentages in the second half. They better not win the in the final four. I hope that Florida beats GMU(Florida is a well balanced team, and GMU has just proved they can get lucky), and LSU beats UCLA(I guess I just don't like UCLA). I would love to see anyone's bracket who predicted anything close to this.

This is GOING to happen in Runescape.
Lol, there is no "wildy" in WoW. In PvP servers, you can attack people of the opposing faction anywhere, except for their home cities unless they are flagged for pvp, meaning you can attack them. Yes they could have had the funeral in one of their home cities, but I who knows, maybe that place was significant for the person that passed away.

What would you do if....?
I would probably pretend to be a statue and jump out and scare people. Then after that got old, sell it. But the easiest weapon to make is definitely a sword, not a bow. Step #1- Pick up a stick off of the ground There you have a sword.

White Knight Armoury (2005) (AOW)
Even though this is a really old topic, is there a defense requirement for wearing these?

Girl problems
Why shouldn't you go for it? It's just a dance. If she says no, it's no big deal, even though she probably won't. I don't mean to be repetetive, but like everyone else has says, she was basically hinting that she might want to go to the dance with you. If I were you, as far as telling her that you have a crush on her, I would wait to see if she says yes to going to do the dance. If she does, I would tell her before the dance, maybe even during, as long as everything is going smoothly. Goodluck

What can you tell me about these "Champion scrolls"
I'm not so sure if that's a very good reward for it being so rare. Could be a cool idea, but Jagex fails like usual

Wow...
I got a 3 day ban once ON RSC a few months before the mass ban. I was in varrock and someone goes "I'll dupe your items for free. If I'm scamming, you can have my password." or something like that So I said, "Alright, well there is no such thing as duping now, so give me your password." 3 day ban from a "scam" I did on RSC

Theiving ideas
AT LEAST double the amount of runes you get every where. Thieving was useful in RSC when bloods were 3k ea and chaos 400 ea. Also, ever skill got a bit easier on rs2, with the exception of mining, so maybe thieving should be able to thieve as many times as possible until you get caught with just one click.
-
Is thieving really worth it?
It has no point on RS2 for making money. Jagex screwed it over. On RSC bloods could sell 3k ea, so you could get 6.5k every time you thieved the blood rune chest. Chaos would sell for 400 ea. Now, you get the same amount of runes, but they are worth less than 1/2 of their old price. Almost every skill(with the exception of maybe mining) got much easier in RS2. For thieving, it's harder if anything. In RSC, you had a pretty decent chest you wouldn't get hit for any dmg when you were caught. However, thieving chests are easier since you can do it while in combat, and m ore than 1 person can get it.

Summoning - In depth
Summoning isn't out yet? I hope summoning is close to what you predicted, because if so, it will be very cool.. Hopefully they can't be used pvp(player verse player)

Your standing on religion
I don't think its going to be mostly flames; its just going to be people posting that it is going to be a flame war. I was brought up Christian, and throughout the years, I have found more evidence supporting my religion and going against it. For those who don't believe in God because you can't prove he exists: Think of someone you love. Prove that you love them. Same thing with God.

The New PS3 and Xbox360, Next Gen For The Gaming Industry?
Sounds like the only improvement is graphics. Microsoft and Sony just keep making stuff to keep up with Nintendo by just making their machines have better graphics and such, while Nintendo is actually being ORIGINAL, and actually making a NEW system, as opposed to the same as the old ones but better graphics.. Plus I Think there is more of a change from ps-ps2 rather than ps2-ps3.. a BIG difference.

Do we place too much emphasis on combat level?
I've been playing almost 3 years, and I'm combat 90. Some people get like level 100 in almost half a year, AND have more skill total than me. The people that are higher level than me and have played only half a year call me a nerd because I have been playing longer than them. If anyone is a nerd it's them, because they play more during the day than I do. That's off-topic, but by definition, even a level 60 isn't a noob if they've been playing 2 years.

A question for fellow athiests
Not a single person in this thread has given that reason for disbeliving They never directly said it, but they say they don't believe because there is so much pain and suffering going on.. If there was only "a little" pain and suffering going on, they would still be complaining. They are BASICALLY implying they don't believe in God because their lives aren't perfect. Thats how I see it anyways.. Gamer.. What was the point of that post?
