who will be the best in football this year
Titans have always been my team. But sadly, I'm not expecting much. This year Carolina is looking like the overall favourties, even with New England I guess. I'm hoping that Oakland and Philly have good years as well. As for the CFL, Argos all the way. 7 - 4 record, atop our division, repeat champions! Go Argos!

iPod Nano -- 1,000 songs. Impossibly small.
Ruzbeh, I don't think that anyone is denying the fact that if the Shuffle wasn't an iPod, noone would have bought it. I really doubt that many people would have bought an mp3 player like the Shuffle, if it wasn't made by Apple. There is no chance in hell it would have been as sucessful as it was/is. And once again, as for the nano, its an amazing idea. Once again, it will be amazingly successful thanks largely in part due to the iPod name. However, it cant be denied that it is an amazing idea, and a great mp3 player (based on previous iPods).

EDIT: nevermind, it's a corrupted harddrive block.
Meh, a few months ago I had a Primary HDD Failure...the entire drive was corrupted. Inaccessable, by any means. The only fix is to send it into the pros, pay $400 for data recovery, and then still have to buy a new drive. Ouch. I hate corrupt drives!

Whats with the whole bandwagon garbage? It's a solid mp3 player, simple as that. :? You can't say everyone who owns one is on this so called Apple bandwagon. You also can't say everyone who doesn't is on the anti Apple bandwagon. Screw bandwagons   Merc was just asking for a valid reason why weez doesn't like the iPod, as he hasn't given any.

iPod Nano -- 1,000 songs. Impossibly small.
Lol yeah, I got a mini about a half a year ago. There's always something new out, just cant keep up. But personally, as a male, I'm not too fond of the whole nano idea. I think smaller things are generally aimed towards females, whereas males tend to be attracted towards the bigger, flashier things. I got a mini because of the price factor, but the nano seems to be priced more or less the same as the mini. However, if they put one of those necklace thingy's on it, and come out with cool male accessories, my opinion will change. iPods own. Simple as that. True, its a whole fanboy bandwagon thingy goin on here, but when it comes down to it, myself, along with many others, would have to say that the iPod wasn't just bought because its a trend, its just...the best player out there. Plain and simple. I'm not one to follow trends, and usually buy things just because they're different in fact, but the iPod was just too good to resist, and I don't regret that descision one bit. When it comes to mp3 players, the iPod owns all, and continues to re invent itself, time and time again. Way to go Apple. :P AD

Annoying Mouse
Well if you're having that much troubles with the mouse, just get a new one. They're not too expensive anyhow, maybe $30 for a wireless even... And do other devices work with that specific usb port? If you are concerned the USB port is screwed, check other devices in it and see what happens. Another thing to consider is the area that you are using the mouse on. Is the mouse on a mousepad? Is the mousepad clean/free of jagged edges or change in surface texture? If its not on a mousepad, is the surface it's on clean and free of jagged edges? Just things to consider. I'm thinking however, that your mouse is probably just old and dead. 1995....whoa. Thats like, Windows 93/95...pre high speed internet times. I think it's about time for a new mouse. You get a new computer every 3 or so years really, why still keep the same old mouse? I hope you were just over exaggerating  AD

letters of recommendation
[sarcasm]yeah...uh, no problem[/sarcasm] :?

letters of recommendation
I really don't know what you're asking here. It seems like you're asking us what specifically you should put in a letter of recommendation? What? You can't write your own letter! Whoever you ask to write it will do a good job I'm sure, and its not/should not be up to you to decide what they put in that letter. But anyhow, a letter of recommendation usually provides the recipient with information about the person applying, such as personality, strengths, etc.

A question about iPods...
You want to move songs from your iPod to your computer eh? That's a job for iPodAgent It costs $15, but you can try it, fully functional, free for 15 days. After that, if you still want it, I'm sure you can just dl it, like any other program out there  But yeah, I've used it before, works great for transfering songs from your iPod to your PC. Good luck. AD

Fastest typist ever... On a qwerty keyboard?
96Wpm is what I clock at...I wonder how much faster you can really type, without looking stupid lol. If I remember correctly, gsw does a decent bit over the 100 mark...130 was it? We had a topic on it a while back, remember?
-
Wow, Do I have bad grammar...
Ahh, a grammar topic. Well, I'm sure some of you remember, but when I first joined on Scapeboard I used to type...however, no caps, no punctuation, etc. I figured "What's the point?" as I did have a 90+ average anyhow, so it shouldn't matter how I typed. After looking at my own posts, I realized how much of an idiot I appeared to be. Grammar is just one of the simple things that's so tough to keep up with on the internet at first, due to tempting shortcut lingo such as "ur" instead of "you're". Well, what I'm just trying to say is that by talking properly online, you're just developing a better...vocab, and understanding of what exactly you're saying. It really cleans your vocab up, makes it less sloppy, if that makes any sense. Some tips: I'm not sure if it'll work for you, but how others view me is important in it's own ways. I just try not to come off as an illiterate moron, and by typing properly, perhaps people will percieve that I'm at least a decent guy. So just give it a try, see how it goes, and I'm quite sure you'll get rid of the annoying habit to type in a quickie in no time. AD

Cell phones / Mobile Phones
Well I don't have a cell phone still, was debating on whether to buy one over the past days, but I've really got to start saving my money. I have no serious use for a cell, other than taking pics which a cam can do, and making the occasional call from school to my house or my dad....so yeah, $300 or so on a nice cell isn't worth it for me atm.

Stupidest way you've been injured?

my holiday pics of nova scotia :)
^ Lol. I've been to Montreal a few times...that little cramped island is where it's at? Well where exactly is "it"...in someone's garage or what? Lol. But seriously, Montreal is alright. I just like Olympic Stadium, thats all. The view from the highway over water to Olympic Stadium is cool. Other than that, Quebec has stripjoint signs everywhere...why is that?

Offering an award
Hey you play the trumpet? Same here. Unfortunately, I'm not a great whistler. I can make amazing pitches, and control the tone of my whistle like noone else, but it's not really a strong whitle...and I cant whistle with my fingers unfortunately. Lol. My highest note on the trumpet is 3rd C tho :P

my holiday pics of nova scotia :)
Lol Nunavut. Funny. I would sooo HATE to live there with the eskimos. Lol. But yeah, those pics are amazing. You're a freaking photographer man, can I bring you along on my vacations so you can take my pics? Lol. As for Nova Scotia being cold, I'm sure it is, just not in the dead middle of the summer lol. But I think it would be cool to live out there, I would move there when I'm older, but its amazingly boring lol. So...dead compared to Toronto.

Hurricane Katrina
Wow, I dunno what to say. Truely a national crisis...New Orleans is just, finished. Wow. With the mayor declaring it a desperate sos situation, and still not much relief on its way, NO is truely in chaos. I can't imagine. I just actually got word that my aunt was living in NO, along with her husband. She's in Toronto for my cousins wedding which is tomorrow, but her husband was still in NO and got stuck in the storm. If any Canadians out there watch Canada AM in the mornings, she was interviewd on it. Here's the link: http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/s ... b=CanadaAM :(

Gas Prices
I've gotta say, some of you are being completely unrealisitc. Sure, we should all get on our bikes and get some excercise, but you're all just being nerds about it, seriously. Bikes are not a practical method to get around the place, where everything is so far away. If it's under 45mins bike ride...ok, thats practical. But when it takes 45 mins by car, yeah right. We live in a fast pace world, whether a lot of you nerds like it or not. We need to get somewhere, and get there fast. Plain and simple. And I know, now you're going to say "Well if you want to get there fast, expect to pay high prices for gas and don't complain." Well my comback towards that is, we want to travel faster because we're used to it. Remember the days when gas was 25cents a litre? I sure don't, cause I wasn't alive then, but the fact is, it once was. Im arguing that gas is no longer priced at its true value. It's priced based on whatever the hell gas companies can get for it, whether it be 25cents, or $1.45, which it was in a nearby city today.

Gas Prices
2 words. Bull *. Exactly what this is, bull *, and I'm pretty...mad about it I guess. I don't even own a car, but this is ridiculous. Usually gas goes up by like what...10 cents yearly max? In the past two years, its gone from 60 cents/litre to over 1.25/litre. Before Katrina came around, gas was about 94 cents in Toronto. I woke up yesterday to find gas at $1.25 in my area. A 31 cent increase overnight? These guys are just complete morons, trying to make us all poor. Seriously. The cost of living is just too high these days, and wages aren't being increased to suit the needs. Can you say another great depression? Just went out and about, some gas stations are at $1.25, some at $1.04....wtf? Just goes to show how [bleep]ed up this is. They're just throwing out random numbers, putting gas at whatever price they want. There is NOOOO way that hurricane Katrina has caused this much of a drop in oil, in order to increase prices this drastically. Someone has to do something, seriously. AD

Hurricane Katrina
^ Yeah, thats truely something  The aftermath of Katrina thus far is just...terrible. At least 55 dead, million + left without power. As mentioned, over 80% of the city is now under water, and another gate broke today, which will add even more water to the already drowned city. Its amazing that this is happening in a first class country. It just goes to show that no matter how much money, power, and military force you have, you cannot win over mother nature. I've heard that Katrina was possibly fuelled by Global Warming? If so....wow. I'm really left speechless. Atm Toronto is feeling the reminiscants(sp?) of Katrina, but just rain and mild winds, nothing serious.
