[rant] Weird...I was just thinking about this the other day. In my opinion, Karma is really, well, stupid. If you perform good deeds, it's almost inevitable that good things will happen to you. If you commit a crime, it's almost inevitable that misfortunes will occur soon after. It's not Karma...it's called LIFE. To add to what you were saying Bubsa, I agree with what you're saying for the most part. A different example of this can be found with people who take the whole idea of God to a different level. For the record, I'm decently religious, so what I'm saying isn't because I'm Athiest or anything. ---> It's like when people believe EVERYTHING that happens is because of God. Ie Someone trips and breaks their arm. Their explanation of why it happened wasn't because they were being careless, but instead "It was God's plan". Another example is when someone "prays to God" for stupid things...like passing a Math test. That's such a HUGE pet peeve of mine! [/end rant]

Wow, 4 years as a member here. I've gotta say that tip it forums/scapeboard have helped me so much! From typing "properly" to just having really odd/interesting discussions. Whenever I've had a problem from life decisions to computer issues, someone's always been around to help out. Thanks tip it! :P

So thousands of students are looking for a job on the same day? Ouch. I really dont understand how that could possibly work, though apparently it did  We don't have anything like that, but the closest thing I can think of is with our school sponsoring 2 African children/year, raising money to support them with school, clothes, etc. Great idea though, I'm all for helping out children in need of education across the world.

Well, do you have the need for anything greater than 2 gigs (iPod Nano..)? If not, might as well get the best 1Gb flash player as possible right? Mp3 players really depend on the consumer...there's just so many options. Although I'm not an Apple "fanboy", I love my iPod! It just does everything I want it to do, and I'm completely satisfied with it. Clickwheel is just grrreat. However, I dislike the nano's just because they're so small and they seem incredibly fragile, because of how thin and tiny they are. If you've narrowed it down to those three links, check out the reviews on that black Sony. From what I've read, they're pretty solid players. Plus, its amazingly sexy  My pick is the Sony NWA 6 Gig (Heh...odd name. NWA. N....z with attitude. Lol.). It just looks so nice, and has good reviews. :P

Well, different things work for different people. I do my homework right after I get home from school every other week (4pm), or when I have a last period spare, I get home and do homework at 2pm. So yeah, whenever I get home I start after about 10 mins of websurfing. My average is 96%, so I'd say it works pretty well

Yeah! Suns are still alive!!!! :P :P :P Too bad Chicago got knocked off thought...you know that everyone wanted to see Miami get eliminated...deep down, you knew it, and you wanted it too. Spurs and Cavs play tonight...hopefully they can both get the job done, although somehow I doubt that the Cavs will. I really want them to advance though!

Hey, I'm doing a research project for my Physics class, on the subject of waves in general. I've chosen to focus in on sound waves, even more specifically, sonic boom. I remember watching a program a while ago on the Discovery channel which showed countries such as America, Russia, and China (I think these were the only three) who possessed secret military jets, capable of flying at Mach speeds, yet producing little/no noise, yet a lone a sonic boom. My idea is to research how this was done, or the plans for eliminating the sonic boom. Problem is, I have no idea what the show was called. Has anyone seen it? I know about Busemann's Biplane, which is a theory for the elimination of the sonic boom, where no shock waves are generated. However, I can't find much information on other theories, or even better, an actual, working example. I'm sure they do exist in the military...powerful jets which fly at mach speeds without the sonic boom, but I've yet to find an example of one. I suppose if they do exist, countries wouldn't exactly be boasting about them at the moment, now would they. Does anyone have further information on the issue? Other theories around on the elimination? I'd love to hear it, as it will both assist in my project work, and it is quite an interesting topic all around. Thanks for your help, and interest. :P

Algonquin Park  That place is awesome...natural wildlife reserve! Have you been on the midnight wolf feeding? Crrrazy stuff. So nice up there :P I've never seen the lights myself, or if I have, it's never been anything like that, but I guess it's because I live in a big city :x I'd love to see em one day tho, probably will go up north on a trip soon enough :!:

Ahh same, so I guess we're the same age? My school gave us the entire day off this year, although according to the TDSB they weren't supposed to. They made the afternoon an unofficial, optional "tutorial" day, just so they could say they didn't realllllllllly give us the day off  Btw, you won't get a percentage on your results. It'll just say if you passed, or failed.

If anyone's bracket looks like this right now, they're lying. Not a single 1st place seed in? 11th seed George Mason upsets Conn? Whatta game. Don't get me wrong, they've put up some exiciting matches this year (a ton of OT and close upsets) but seeing the underdogs in the final four is boring to say the least. I'm all for Cinderella stories, love 'em in fact. But its just a plain and simply boring final four. Hopefully we can get LSU to pull out the winner.

He probably meant Collegiate but didn't know how to spell it.

Heh, I've never heard of BST before. Sounds a bit like bull...time. Anyhow, back to maturity... Some of you haven't had DST before? Ahhh, weird. I've had it for my entire life of course, in Canada. The thing that especially :x this time around is that I'm going camping for the weekend with school, and wake up is usually 6am...It's a yearly thing, so thats how I know. This year since the weekend falls on DST, it's a 5am wakeup basically. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Yeah, my life is that 8) that the biggest of my worries is losing 1 hour of sleep on a saturday night. I know, I'm a loser. :x

Heh, March Madness is back! :P This year my FF include Duke, Gonzaga, UConn, and Villanova. Possible upset: Wisconsin Milwaukee. That would be something. Wheres Wake Forrest at this year, anyone?

I think its relatively easy to find stupid stories like that on the news. Nothing new that need's to be posted imo. Why are you so caught up on what this world is coming to? There are hundreds upon hundreds of sickening stories out there daily, where is this one, or the HIV story, a place to start? Kinda useless using such stories to validate your point, which is an obvious one as it is. Try a topic which we can all talk about, such as: Do you think the world has always been like this? Full of sickos? Or has it recently emerged? Perhaps it's simply getting worse? Or maybe more media attention? Do we notice it now more than ever because we're old enough to understand it, or because the media chooses to report these idiotic stories simply because they think it makes for more interesting news? Maybe more website hits for upping this one perhaps? Ok...well, that's not really a question, kinda my opinion somehow rolled into a question. I'm sure you get my point though, these stories are nothing new. The world has been full of sickos forever, crying over "what this world is coming to" simply isn't necessary. :?

Lol @ Indy500Fan! You remind me what I've been missing being away from tip.it for so long :) As for the snow, well, that's something I know quite a bit about. Even in Toronto we occasionally get a snowstorm in April! Crrrrazy! However, this Winter has been amazingly kind to us. Not too much snow, and pretty decent temperatures. Wth is going on with our environment! Blame it on teh Global Warming!!!!!!! :o

Yep, but I'm asking more about the quality and whatnot when I convert it to DVD format in the VOB files. I don't know much about VOB files and their size, as sometimes a 600MB .avi file converts to 4GB worth of VOB's, and sometimes a 1.2GB .avi file converts to the same 4GB. :?

Hey, Long time, no see, tip it!! I've still been browsing the boards every now and then, posting whenever necessary. Haven't talked to many of you in a while! Well, as always, I have a favour to ask  I recently purchased a noname TV Tuner for my computer, which works alright. Semi-fuzzy picture, but I can live with that. My problem is, I'd like to record some tv shows, and burn em on DVD. However, the outputted files from all of these Video Capture software is huge! I've tried several programs, from HonestechTV (came with the card) to PowerCinema, which I understand comes with the ATI card. The PowerCinema, at lowest settings, outputs a file, on average at 45mb/minute. That's crazy! So for a single hour of recording, I'm going to end up with a good 2.7GB file. Is it even possible to fit this properly on a standard DVD? HonestechTV outputs, at lowest settings, 16mb/minute. The quality is slightly lower than PowerCinema. However, my Tuner quality is iffy as it is, so I simply don't understand why I'm getting such large files. I'm looking to record a tv show for a friend tonight, it's approx 1 hour long. Any suggestions on how to do this? Is my only option to end up with a file over 1 - 2 GB after the hour, and then attempt to burn to DVD? :? I've gotta be doing something wrong...this just doesn't seem right. Help please? Thanks a ton. :P AD.

Popped in just to add Ron Artest has been supposedly traded to the Kings for Peja. Wow. Who in their right minds wants Artest? Hes such a moron! As for Peja, he's out of his prime. Expecting a quiet retirement in upcoming years with the Pacers.

Ok, Let me try to catch my breath. I have been working on my troublesome computer of late as you all know, until today, where I got and installed a new 300gb harddrive. Its up and running, and works great. My old drive however, died. I was in the process of gathering files together to backup to my 300gb harddrive, when it just restarted. After that, upon boot up, it says "Searching for IDE-O...Ok. It stops there and does not go any further. Moreover, when I booted up on my new drive, it said my old drive was corrupt and unreadable. I then popped in the Windows XP CD, and chkdsk told me it fixed any errors. Whaddya know, I still can't boot up, but in the process chkdsk identified my old drive as 80gb, with 79gb free  Wth just happened? Why is my old hard drive supposedly erased?! Can this be true? Is it even possible? I had so much important info on that thing, can it really be gone that easily? In a matter of seconds, on a restart, thats it? Game over? Please tell me there is something that I can do. An additional note, when I boot up on my 300gb hard drive it is now able to read my C drive (old hard drive). However, it also says that 79gb of the 80gb drive is free space. Please tell me this isn't so. What a way to ruin the holidays...I can only hope there is something I can do to fix this  Thanks, AD EDIT: Thanks guys, problem solved. I used a data recovery software tool like mentioned, and it worked like a charm. Man, was that ever a life saver! :P

Hey, Well, atm I have 3 computers in my house, on a linksys B router. I'll be re doing 2 of those computers within the week, and am interested in going wirless. If you wouldn't mind, I have a few quick q's and problems regarding this issue: 1. Do I need to get a wireless adapter as well as a wireless router per computer? (1 has a wireless card, so thats fine, the other two don't. Do I need a wireless adapter even for the computer with the wireless router, for a total of 2 adapters, 1 router, and 1 card?) 2. I currently have 2 networks set up, both of which are completely messed. How do I get rid of these networks entirely? I want 3 standalone computers to rebuild my network from scratch. I don't want any hint of a previous existing network on any system. How do I get this done? 3. Any noticeable differences from the wired linksys B router to a wireless G (108mbps) router? Thanks a lot, AD

Anyone, Any clue? :x

Well, for I don't know how long, I've always gotten the BSOD. Maybe 5 months now, but I've never bothered to look into it. Somehow, it doesn't occur often when I'm acutally using the computer, but if I leave it to run a virus scan, or download something, or even just sitting there, on, doing nothing, I can be sure that it'll crash. The BSOD always gives the error that a corrupt driver is attempting to access the system, yet I've updated, uninstalled, and reinstalled the so called corrupt drivers. No luck. Since the problem started, I've installed a new mobo, and new RAM, as well as a new hard drive, and cd drive. So i've done quite the upgrading, yet no luck. When I check event viewer, it ALWAYS shows this as the only error, right before the BSOD: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: gagp30kx PCIIde viaagp :x Any thoughts?

Hmph. Can't believe this topic fell down into the Tip It black hole so quickly! :? What about Hark How The Bells O Holy Night - Josh Groban (Probably the best Christmas song imo) Carol of the Bells - Trans Siberian Orchestra
