Rather odd hardware problem...
Weird, I've been having the exact same problem. It seems as if my computer is working extra hard to do nothing at all, checked my running processes and everything is completely normal. My fan's are all working, and sometimes I hear the noise, sometimes I don't. Its pretty random. Sorry, I have no solution, but right now I'm in the same boat as you are. :x

Release time for Homolka
Yeah, I think it's terrible that she's being released this week. Thank god she isn't going to live in my city. Even worse, so many people seem so sorry for her, saying help is there is she seeks it. Shes a sick killer, screw helping her! Help the people who really need it, not some sicko killer. Keep her in jail, I feel sorry for the residents of (Montreal is it?) who have to put up with her release. I would probably move.

School Project/Survey--> Spare a look please! :)
- A question to you... english-speaking people.
Well, I don't really talk to that many non english speaking people, but yeah, i'll try and use simpler words just so they can understand the basic meanings, rather than me using a larger word where it's not necessarily necessary.- What are you living for?
Well, I'm living for my family, friends, relatives, future family of my own, etc. The basic things. They keep me motivated to push myself, and without them nothing would really matter to me. So yeah..thats my answer - Canada wins miss universe!
Whoa, didn't think we'd actually win. I knew Miss Canada was hot, but wasn't sure she'd win it all   There were a lot of great looking girls, so yeah, I watched some of it too. Got bored after they annouced the top 5 and went to bed tho  Finally, Canada's women are on top 8) :P Bmw- funny 1 liners
Lol, some were quite funny. I loved the doughnut and mashed potato jokes. Good work my friend! 8)- Newest Scam
That's fantastic, Merc.. One guy scammed a scammer out of $718! Hilarious! I see the sarcasm, but it is kind of amusing... Anyhow, I thought this topic was about PGP Coder...as it's been around on the news of late. Pretty interesting virus to say the least, locks your files, have to pay $200 to unlock, and it was just a simple form of the virus. I have a good article on it, but you have to be registered on thestar.com :x- Linkin Park???
Now take those lyrics, and sell millions of records Ryan. When you sell more records than Linkin Park, only then will I be impressed.- Linkin Park???
You sound kinda :x with poor grammar and all...but I agree with what you're saying. I don't like Linkin Park, nor do I hate them. They're no different than the majority of bands out there, which you guys all love so much. They're rich and famous, meaning they must have gotten something right while in their million dollar studio. So basically, stop bashing them, as they are famous, and you aren't. If you don't like em, do what I do. Don't listen.- Should you judge music by it's fans?
Well, I agree for the mostpart in what you're saying. Each type of music has their fanbase, such as rap appealing mainly towards blacks, rock appealing mainly towards whites. I'm not being racist, doesn't matter to me what you listen to, but that's just how it is. I listen to rap, just because I like it, and don't really like country/rock and all that lol. There are some good songs, i'll admit that, but for the most part I don't listen to it.- Building A Computer, Some Help Please
I'll post the exact link a bit before I finalize my order, as I don't know exactly which model of each i'll be getting. However, all items are from tigerdirect.ca Also, I'm going to follow through in upgrading the old computer anyways for my dad, but I have no idea what type of ram we have right now. I ran CPU Z, and it doesn't say :? :x- Building A Computer, Some Help Please
Well I've decided to scrap that idea, and just build an entire new system lol. So i'll be around posting when things get going...asking for help of course!! To start off, perhaps tell me if I'm missing anything major? Already have monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse, printer Chaintech AMD Athlon 64 3200 Motherboard + Processor - $280 512 SD Ram - $110 USB Card - $50 Graphics Card - $150 Case - $100 DVD/CD Burner - $70 CD Drive - $30 Hard Drive - $50 Floppy Drive - $30 And then I'm a bit sketchy on the power supply..not too sure what to buy there. Estimating about $50 for it... So total cost is abit over $1000..which is what I'm aiming for. To sum it up...I would love some help on finding the right power supply for all of this, and this might sound kinda stupid, but does anything come with instructions, lol?? I have a general understanding of how to do this from upgrading in the past/just looking inside my computer seeing how its all set up, so you think i'll have any troubles? Thanks, Bmw- NBA Championship?
Well, goodbye Mr. Reggie Miller :( Detroit has defeated Indiana Miami has defeated Washington Phoenix has defeated Dallas San Antonio has defeated Seattle Now onto conference finals!!!! My Pics in bold : Miami vs Detroit Phoenix vs San Antonio :P- A quick question
1:20am. You coulda just checked on your computer's clock ya know...man, gotta stop using the computer and drinking!!!- what famous leader are you?
I'm with the poster here, Abe Lincon for me!- Awesome Video
Agreed. Pretty awesome video...I love how cool the rocks all look 8) :P- Playstation 3 and Nintendo Revolution
First off, lemme say this about Nintendo: In my opinion, Nintendo is scrambling to put something together, and are in a stage of desparation. Microsoft and Sony are clearly competing with eachother, while Nintendo remains on the sidelines. I have always been a strong supporter of Nintendo, but now I've lost faith. This console...named what? Code named Revolution, is amazingly ugly. It looks cheap, and when I look at it, I think "What's the point of this thing?" The X-Box 360 is a multimedia center, along with a heavy gaming center. All in one, and I love it. Kudos to Microsoft from the initial looks of this one.I can imagine all of the games being released for this thing, should give Playstation quite a run for its money. The PS3 also looks quite stunning, and I'm sure it'll do quite well also. Loving the looks of it, powerful processor, and once again, I'm assuming they've already got their list of games lined up for this thing. And where is Nintendo? Slowly unveiling their new console today, quietly at that. No real pics released, far behind the competition. As for their new gameboy released yesterday? Can you say disgusting? What are they thinking? Nintendo is quickly on the path to nowhere. I love the mario type games, quite fun, but I will never buy another Nintendo system. It's just not up to par with the likes of Sony and or Microsoft.- Dude, I got a DELL!
With that atitude, don't bother coming here when you get "hax0rd!1!' If I do get "M3d hax0rd!1!" I wouldn't mind, I'm completely familiar with starting over with nothing but stats :) Besides, I really don't browse many RS sites other than Tip.It, so if I do get a keylogger, chances are it isn't for RS :P Theres a bit more to getting hacked then just simply stealing some pixels on an rpg game  Anyhow, pretty nice computer. In going for a pre-built computer, I'd say you found quite a good one there. Dell is great, I've had no real issues with them, except for their India customer support  But yea, awesome computer. 1GB Ram, Pentium Processor with HT tech...nearly 3ghz, pretty good. Personally, atm I'm planning to build myself a computer in the next month or so, rather than upgrading an old one. The reason? Large technological advancements coming out soon...such as Windows64 Bit, the 64 Bit processors are already out, along with Windows Longhorn in the coming year. A self build system is much cheaper, and I am sure it is not too hard either. You can run into problems, can be a bit of a hassle I suppose, but its well worth it. Much, much cheaper. I can probably build an equal computer to this dell for a decent amount less. Anyhow, not to discourage you or anything! You got a great deal, great computer, so gl with it, and I hope you have fun - CHINA
Wow, you're an idiot. First of all, there are so "maney" of China? Doesn't make sense. You meant to say that there are so many Chinese. Just because there are many Chinese people doesn't mean the chances of them being athletic/intelligent are greater. When did this become a race thing? Answer: When you posted. This topic has nothing to do with race, so don't take it there. The topic is about job loss in America due to better opportunity in China.- CHINA
Ahh, the infamous India customer support. * Calls Dell , gets transfered to India, where they barely speak english* While i'm on the subject of India and business, don't transfer us to India beacuse its cheaper, we should be getting the most out of everything we do. India customer support really sucks. As for American business, who cares? Whats done should be done to benefit the technology of our world, not America. I don't care if every scientist and computer engineer in America has to move to China to do it, but as long as I have awesome technology in my house in Canada, I'm happy. Who cares where its made, if its good, its good. 8)- Tennis Ball Color debate
Did that, appears that many of the balls are a yellowy green indeed. I still stand by my opinion, in saying majority of them are green.- Computer acting abnormally..
Well first of all, go through device manager and update all your drivers. I'm thinking that its either a problem there which should be fixed after updated, or a software problem. If your drivers are all updated already, which I doubt they are, then have you installed anything lately? What virus scanner are you currently using? It could be as simple as reinstalling your antivirus program. So you've ruled out an overheating issue? The last option I have is that its a virus or trojan, but you are scanning regularly, so I dunno. It couldn't hurt to boot up in safemode and give it another try, with diferent antivirus programs, could it? Also, say you leave your computer in safemode. Will the same lockup occurr? You may also want to check your calendar, to see if you have anything scheduled daily when your computer locks. I remembered the exact same thing used to happen when my Norton Antivirus would randomly scan my computer, which is why I suggested a reinstall of your antivirus program above. Hope I helped, Bmw - A question to you... english-speaking people.
