  1. He's anywhere between six and nine months older than me. Wow. Anyway, it's nice to see them talk back to us (like they used to), and I will definitely grill the CEO about some questions that still resonate loudly in my mind.
  2. Level 80's-90's with 99 strength and craphouse defence/hp shouldn't either but were not opressing it are we? Lord_Shalaj, remember they were the one's who payed 100m+ fully knowing they would drop eventully but they decided to jump the gun and go for it. Makoto_the_Phoenix, good point. Theres a "Reason" its called a Godsword, not a "D-Claws-Own-The-Godsword Godsword." :| Makoto saw that on youtube. @3hit who ever said his full hp was 85? He could be ~95 and not wanted to waste a shark trying to be max health. I've also seen it in Castle Wars, and what difference does it make if I've seen it on Youtube? Point of the matter is that these claws hit hard and fast, full stop. They rival the Godsword in sheer power with that special. Something must be done.
  3. When the D Claws first came out, I studied their amount of damage, and it comes around to the first hit (regardless of whether or not it hits) being the deciding factor of each hit thereof. This basically means if you roll a high number, like 41, then you're bound to virtually KO anything you touch. Since the D Claws suck outright without their special, reduce the special ability to three swipes instead of four, and reduce the amount of damage that can be done. This thing can hit over a Godsword, for the love of God...
  4. It'll stabilize to around 3M when people finally realize that they suck without their special ability, and that they were better off with an AGS or dragon dagger to begin with.
  5. This was actually done back in 2004 to close a bug where members could drink potions (standard Attack/Defense) to gain an unfair advantage over others in the freeplay Wilderness. Doesn't seem right to me; it'd make more sense to give them the standard set of potions...
  6. If it can be done, it can only be done with items that have a small market, like partyhats or lower-rares (santas, masks, pumpkins, etc). Trying to manipulate something like coal or iron is nigh impossible.
  7. Disabling superfluous startup programs like instant messaging programs and the like can improve load times. Cleaning out the machine, and keeping it generally clear of dust can also reduce thermals, which will improve heat and system stability.
  8. Wow, people like you make Runescape a bad place... You would let someones grave dissappear when it would cost you about 2k to drink a prayer pot dose and bless it? Hopefully I will be the one to find your grave at some point in the near future... No, people like YOU make it a bad place. Putting virtual gold at such a serious level. Its not my responsibility to bless a stranger's grave. Also, the way I amuse myself is my own business. I thought the point of a game is to have fun, not to ensure that everybody in the game lives happily ever after. Theres no reason to ever die in this game, and if you do its your own fault. The only cases in which it isnt your own fault is from a disconnect, which would make your gravestone disappear anyway. And unless they ever actually lose their items from their death theyre never going to learn not to be an idiot if they want to keep their stuff. To play Devil's Advocate, I agree with this wholeheartedly. There were times when players didn't know enough about the dangers of the area they were in to come fully equipped (Iron dragons, someone w/o antifire shield, full Zamorak + med helm, ranging them with a bow and arrow), or times when players didn't know how dangerous Abberant Spectres were, and lost full Black (g). It might sound mean and unreasonable, but it's not like they were wholly ignorant of the dangers of the area. Iron Dragons were determined to be impossible to range without an Antifire shield [and until the XBow update, impossible to range], and Abberant Spectres required noseplugs to deal with, both bits of information available virtually everywhere. It's not my obligation or responsibility to bless your grave for you, albeit a nice thing for me to do. If you don't want to die, read up on where you're going to be trekking, and come prepared - or be ready to lose stuff. [That'll learn ya.]
  9. Yet I'm sure that every player would prefer that the game still be here. It might have affected your gameplay, but you can't deny that RWT was a major problem in RS. Take Blizzard for example - they've sued RWT companies before, but it's not gotten them anywhere. Players might have an open trade system, but being able to buy achievements devalue playing the game for any length of time. Would you rather go back to the old RS with it lasting all of an additional nine months after December 2007, or would you rather still play it today? Or even if you prefer, you can simply leave the game community if you're that disgusted with the decisions that Jagex has made.
  10. Tell me honestly - even before gravestones, could you have died unintentionally anywhere in the game? Unless you went to the KBD lair without a DFire shield, or went into the KQ lair without a teleport, or made a conscious choice to go into a truly dangerous place, you just couldn't die. Between 2005 and now, there's only been one time that I've actually died unintentionally, and that was against the Spirit Beast (during the quest). Anywhere else is relatively safe. I don't think that gravestones ruined the concept of death at all. It wasn't possible to die in low to medium risk areas, and if you wandered into a place like GWD or DK unprepared, then more or less, your death was already in the cards.
  11. What? In what universe does this statement even remotely make sense?
  12. Looks like a relatively quiet month, and the prospect of getting rid of the Sandwich Lady from random events is more than enough to pacify me.
  13. The one thing that I'm not too enthused about when it comes to gaming are the laptops, due to their tendency to run way hotter than a tower while gaming. But, since you're in the Air Force and all, it's pretty important that you get something that's movable. [You sure that your CO won't let you have a tower?] Anyway, the idea is to find a laptop that's decent for games, but able to withstand long periods of travel and can be moved easily. Rule lapcrushers/desktop replacements out, since carrying those around everywhere will prove to be a pain rather than pleasure. This is one that balances (some) power with a lesser price tag, and won't really crush your lap too much, but I'd read more into the battery life. You did mention casual gaming, but tell us honestly - do you want to have a machine that can run a game at decent resolutions, a light work machine, or do you want one that's a genuine desktop replacement?
  14. Not sure since I don't tend to do that lol I can tell you this much I've been running RSHD for 6 months without problems.. and as for bluescreens I think they're disabled by default. Wow, I'd sure love to find the setting for that in my XP installations. :P Anyway, check the inside of your computer. If you see a mound of dust on fans, the CPU cooling block, and blocking more than 20% of the vents, then it's definitely overheating. If you want to clean it out, take a facemask and some compressed air, and blow it all out. You don't have to clean it out right now, but do check the inside, and let us know how much dust is actually in there.
  15. This is a puzzler. It could be due to overheating, or too many processes running at once. I assume that you're running Windows XP, but just to be sure, would you mind posting the OS too?
  16. No. Not going to happen. T&C already expressly covers that you won't be entitled to a refund if you are found (yes, found, meaning not this little temporary dry spell that you're bellyaching over) to be in violation of its rules, and lawyers can't do a damn thing about that. If you didn't do anything wrong, quit acting like such a baby about it, and wait for your account to be reviewed. Getting lawyers involved with this is about the worst thing you can do, since you've got a snowballs' chance in Hell of winning. This "little temporary dry spell" as you put it, is being paid for with real money, and not rs gold coins, by myself, which Jagex has no legal right to. Irrelevant. Whether or not you paid for this period of time, Jagex still has to assume that you are guilty of breaking a rule, and as such, the "no refund" policy goes into effect. It's like paying for a whole semester of college, then getting expelled for drinking - you're NOT going to see your tuition again, and no lawyer would argue for it. Besides, if the cost is like $6 for 30 days, a 3-day ban costs you what, $0.60? Are you seriously going to piss and moan over $0.60? [EDIT] I believe that the minimum amount in which you can take a legal person to court over is $20 [in the US], so unless you can come up with $19.40 in damages and charges, you're not going to have a case, period. WHAAT? 1,700th post for THIS? Oh well.
  17. How is it impossible to sell Mind runes? I've sold batches in the GE, but of course, I went off and did my own thing while they were working. Long story short, against the rules. Both of you go AFK. AFK training is not allowed.
  18. Um, no. They should be banned. Zero tolerance policy, stop encouraging people to cheat. i still think a ban is still over doing it maybe a mute or something but no a ban unless its just like for a day or 2. it could be a accident Parallel the abuse of a bug in RuneScape to a burglary. You may not be the one that did the crime, but you fit the description, so you are taken downtown for a while until everything gets sorted out, whether good or bad for you. Exactly. Jagex doesn't ban lightly, contrary to sensationalist beliefs.
  19. This. The system that was implemented isn't anywhere near Communism; one could even argue that with the Grand Exchange, it's the technical equivalent of opening World 2 to everyone at the same time.

  21. If a game feels like work, it has become an oxymoron. Whenever I am faced with such a feeling, I usually start playing Starcraft.
  22. Doesn't sound like it's "disgusting". Perhaps it's just not technically possible. That's the thing with many of these updates - one of the major reasons that we moved to the new RS2 engine was so that POH could be properly supported. The trick with planning is that things change. Before you go on a rant about how easy it is to program something like that, stop to consider the technical limitations before going off on Jagex. Why not just add whatever coding they made for the "friends" list, and just make it say "clan list". That alone would add more clan support than there is currently. Clan chat just isnt the same because the only way you can restrict non-clan mates from joining is by having the people on their friends list, which limits the clan chat leader either to a low number of non-clan friends or a low number of clan members. Yeah, well, that sounds like it would work in principle, but then we run into an issue of database space, and keeping track of who's in what clan, not to mention the potential of multiple clans, etc... Consider a maximum of 100 members in a single clan, plus 200 maximum friends, plus 100 maximum enemies...about 400 names in total. Now, consider two facts: 1) A player will always have at minimum room for 100 people on a friends list, and 2) No player will ever have a full friends' list (200 people) for any extended period of time. This means that the current implementation of "Clan Chat" is the best way, considering the hardware limitations. Of course, I'm only speculating, since I don't really know how they have implemented the Friends list, but that'd be a good first guess.
  23. They said that they'd be reviewing each case individually, as to free wrongfully banned players, so it's no surprise that you're all unbanned if you didn't do anything wrong. :P

  25. In my eyes, that entire list is complete. Player-owned Shops is less of a practical idea, due to the GE, and we don't need to grow stuff in our house - we have our own exclusive patches as it is. I would have liked to have seen chess instead of checkers in the Games room, but I can't complain; still count that as complete. Randomly Generated Scenarios is still probably way out there, but for the most part, I've gotten along for years without it. :P
