  1. Nope. I don't have the OS to run WoW.
  2. Ooh, Atheros. Those ath5k drivers are somewhat slow (top out at 25Mb, intentional gimping), but can be used if you install ubuntu-restricted-modules-generic. You should also be able to find stable nVidia drivers in that same menu - System > Administration > Hardware Drivers.
  3. Depending on what you did in the past, they'll probably reply to you in person the next time you get a black mark (heaven forbid). But seriously, why are you so paranoid about it? Are you one of those people that will push the rules just far enough that you could be considered breaking them?
  4. Why bother? Those issues were resolved in subsequent updates. Perhaps before when the game first came out was it a giant flaw, but not now, and that's what I'm talking about here. But we're getting off-topic.
  5. You call THIS a flaw? Look at that. Just look at that. I went from 74 to 80 Smithing in a little under 4 days using Iron and Morphic Tools. I'm sorry, maybe I'm just old fashioned, but any minigame that gives a reward that good just isn't a flaw.
  6. He asked for "why?" so your reply is useless. How is that useless? I gave him the best answer that anyone could. They pick cabbages because they feel like it, regardless of what you or I think about how they spend their time. Let's be frank. That's the best answer the OP is gonna get. If he doesn't like it, then he's looking for his answers in the wrong place.
  7. The only issue that I have is the overpowered Melee dagger. People that have level 5 daggers are nigh invincible, even with no armor -- the armor in SC does nothing to slow it down. I can't view the rune-stealing thing as bad, because it somewhat balances the combat triangle within the game. Those bows are slow, and if you're up against an Ancient Mage, there's little chance that you'll be able to finish them off. That leather gear, according to the KB, provides a measly +50 magic bonus, and the bow only gives +225 range attack (both at max). In all of the Ranger v. Mage match-ups that I've seen when I play SC, the mage almost always wins unless they're pickpocketed. I wouldn't mind a slight reduction in the amount of runes taken based on level, but that feature just has to stay. I don't see how teams can be "unbalanced", as numbers don't tell the entire story. The most points are gathered through gathering all types of clay, and most players (myself included at first) will limit themselves to only one particular type, thus hobbling their team's overall score. Oh, and level-4 barriers are your friend -- they've slowed down an onslaught for about a good four minutes. :D Gathering is hit-or-miss, really. Just move to another resource, even if it is lower level. Like I stated earlier, the more clay you process, the higher your overall score will be. It's frustrating when someone gets something level-5 on their first shot, but that's how the game is played. I can't say that I can complain with the map layouts, I just play the hand I'm dealt. If there's only so many level-5 resources, or level-4 resources, I just gather what I can, make what I can, and get points that way. No need to go seeking the major resource spots unless they're easy enough to grab.
  8. Legacy marks can't be appealed, but so what? Are you that close to the edge that you have to flip out over something like this? I have about two legacy blackmarks, but that's fine with me - I don't do anything else that might incur any more marks. I've also learned my lesson for what I did, too, so I don't really mind that they're stuck with me. Not that it matters, since it can't be overturned, but what did you do to get those marks that has you all worked up?
  9. Why does anyone buy raw materials? Why does anyone fish for days on end? Why does anyone play Castle Wars for Gold Armor? Answer: Because they feel like it.
  10. Well no one would have, until you decided to post it on Tip.it forums. Will you, and everyone else, please keep your mouths shut on how you do your passwords? It's just not smart.
  11. Can't say that I'll ever quit. Sure, I'll be busy with school, work, and life, but it's still a game that I'll play, much like anyone with their Xbox or WoW, or what have you.
  12. It's not a matter of getting it in any specific code; in reality, any language that can parse a website can do it. It's just a matter of choosing which language to use, studying it, then writing the code to perform such a task.
  13. A step forward. I hated wasting seven hours in World 2 (4 to get in, 3 to conduct actual business) under that old scheme. Now I can just drop my items off, and get them later. As for the human interaction, there's still plenty of that around. You just have to look for it.
  14. If you don't want to be hacked, but you want your password to be "legend456", then you've got some conflicting goals. The idea here is to promote better Internet security.
  15. All I want are some fundamental tweaks, like improving the speed of Make-X, revamp Mining, and a combat revamp. I'm just praying that there are absolutely no new skills this year, and if there is one, then it better feed into one of the existing skills by a lot.
  16. While I think the latter option - letting players experience firsthand just how secure "password" is, then getting hacked - is a far better teaching tool, this isn't such a bad update. It's a wake-up call to the people that keep their accounts insecure - Jagex can only put so many locks on your account before they finally chalk it up to the poor, dumb user. Seriously now. Figure out a password that's strong and secure, and not something super-flimsy. This is a practice that I've been doing for ages. [NOTE] To everyone posting hints about their password: KNOCK IT OFF, DAMMIT. Edit: You are now playing KidScape. Enjoy being wrapped in cottonwool while we feed you hot milk. :wall: Roll on Mechscape. Correct me if I'm wrong, but MechScape is still being made by the same company that's allegedly wrapping you in "cottonwool", right? Grow up.
  17. I'll agree with Dan. One person dumping 47 Dharok Greataxes isn't a whole lot of damage; multiply that by about 120 and you've got a major, major problem.
  18. No matter how you'd try to quantify my time and effort into this account, you just can't pay me enough.
  19. If the system, which is designed to be a random drop, can be predicted in a fuzzy but high range (i.e. between 250K-25M), then it should be removed. If the system cannot be predicted to give one a high drop by using flowers in a hotspot for 35 minutes, then it shouldn't be removed.
  20. NO. Summoning is the only skill that makes you fight for the required reagent to get levels. Without that, you have the next Herblore skill.
  21. NEWS FLASH- YOU DON'T HAVE TO KILL THE DEMONS TO GET IT So what else besides Tormented Demons drop them?
  22. In my opinion, D Claws don't really need to be nerfed. All it does is highlight the bias of weapon speeds that we've placed on our weapon choice -- something that RS2 Combat was expected to remedy.
  23. Didn't Jagex also say that they weren't going to be releasing Mobilising Armies until they were truly satisfied with it? They said it was ready to release, but they wanted to do some tweaking. For some people, Mechscape might be a good game, for others, they can still play RuneScape. It's too early to say whether or not it will have any effect on the RS fanbase whatsoever.
  24. Do you realize just how painful it would be to play RS on the iPhone? It'd probably cut your battery lifespan in half, you'd never be able to keep a charge for more than 3 hours, and every time someone called, you'd be disconnected. I think the words "utterly pointless" can be said here.
  25. Combat level: 120 Total Level: Total experience that averages out to level 85 in each skill.
