Even assuming that we are able to get out of the 2 (3) wars that we're currently in and return to an isolationist foreign policy that you seem to want, there is no way that the American people will support getting rid of so many military jobs because of funding cuts. It would be political suicide.

Well the guy is probably going to become a hero, so I imagine it would feel pretty damn good ...and a target for every revenge-seeking extremist. Which is why I can see their name not being released for a very, very long time (if at all). Probably something similar to Deep Throat.

Now that he's gone, we have to regain the trust and support of the people of the Middle East. Lots of on-the-fence extremists to get on our side. I'm worried that some sort of retaliatory attack could happen. Really, really glad he's gone though. Not to get political here, but Obama seems to be getting lots of credit for this. Yes, he was involved, but I think the ball was rolling to get to this point for a while. I'd think our men and women in the military deserve a pat on the back and a nice cold brew tonight.

My heart goes out to you and all of those affected by the tornadoes these past few weeks. I can't even imagine what you all are going through. We escaped fairly unscathed during this round of bad weather. We had 2 or so tornado warnings, but the closest confirmed tornadoes were in Northern Kentucky. Question: Does you/your boss have a basement? I heard one of the bigger problems was that many houses did not have basements.

Last day of classes today before finals. Skipped Calculus, Spanish got cancelled, so I only had History. Now I have a 2-3 minute Spanish speech to write out on a Friday afternooon. FUNFUNFUNFUN.

I thought the SAT was much harder than the ACT. I don't really remember why, as this was 2 years ago now, but yeah. Thankfully I didn't really need a great SAT score after my ACT.

Yeah this. Attention spans are usually very short for election speeches, especially if everyone's forced to go during lunch/free period. Come up with a gimmick for your speech. I remember one guy my junior year played a guitar and sang the entire joke-filled speech Adam Sandler style. It was really funny. And on the GPA/academic thing, I wouldn't mention it. If you did that at my high school, people would just think you're bragging. People don't want to hear about how great you are, they want to hear about what you're going to do for them. (I went to a private school)

High School elections are basically popularity contests from my experience, and usually nothing that candidates say they'll do happens because they have no real power. Good luck with the election. If you're well liked, you should do fine.

Candyrat guitar night was tonight. There were 4 performers, the first 3 of which were really good, and the last was so experimental that we ended up leaving after 3 songs. Bought a cd of the first guy - Craig D'Andrea.

Activision's VP of Developer Relations recently stated that the Guitar Hero series has not been cancelled, but instead is only on hiatus. I wonder if they'll say anything else on that topic. Other than that, *shrugs* I've lost most of my passion for console video games since college started. Tis a sad thing.
