Even though whip prices are down (as they'll pretty much always go down as time goes by) and dragon boots aren't profitable as they were (same as whips..) it's still such an awesome achievement, and I'm still working on raising my slayer too. Congrats :)

The first step is always the hardest to take. And also, I have some of the worst luck possible when it comes to monster killing (at times), but at barrows, I have had some of the best luck probably in the history of the game. It's always been good to me, just keep going, 70 really isn't THAT dry, and now the streak is over. Keep it up, and congrats.

Hey there. Recently looking for knowledge about penguin (don't ask!), I found this: As noted here, in your Cure a Queen quest guide: Ya don't need to actually complete the quest, just start it. (and do like 1-2 steps) I don't know if any of the other bestiary logs have this in their description, but I figured you may want to be informed.. as there is a pretty fairly big difference between just starting, and actually finishing the quest before being able to use the fairy rings. Sorry if this is too nit picky, but I figured a quickly closed topic is better than not wanting to help make a correction to an already great site. -Thanks

It's not 100%. A bunch of us have spent 30+ minutes there and only gotten 1 or 2, if that. I would call it somewhat uncommon, but that's it. Not too rare or anything.

Yes, guthan's, torag's and dharok's all have the same defenses for their chest piece.

If you fairy ring to AJS you can kill penguins. I killed probably 200 of them last night and didn't get anything. :(

You should put in the Tarn's Lair thing, allowing you to upgrade your Savle for the Salve (e) and get the 20% attack and strength.. speed it up even more. *EDIT* Also - put in how to get the ring once you've thrown it away? *Second Edit* I see you have done both of these already... great job :)

I don't agree with this, and I don't see how you can say things so confidently about a skill that's not here yet. Basically what you said is that there's no difference in fighting someone with maxed melees without prayer, and with 99 prayer. There IS a difference.

First of all, good job writing an actual letter without spewing trash all over it. It's definatly the only way we're going to get anything of a response. (even if you didn't right here) Secondly, you got a COMPLETE brush off. That sucks man - and I wouldn't be waiting for a snail mail letter if I were you.

I'm not sold yet that this is the way it works. Say for instance you need 3 prayer levels for a Combat up. I'm not so sure that you could do 2 prayer and 1 summoning, or 2 summoning and 1 prayer. I'm not comfortable saying that you wouldn't need the 3 prayer levels.It's for sure that summoning will raise combat LIKE prayer, but I just don't know about it being specifically tied in. It does seem stupid to seperate them though, so I bet they'll be tied in like you think. Just more assuming, I guess :)

This is spot on, I believe. Makes sense to not be able to attack with two different types of attacks at once - the whole triangle idea would be completely demolished, as stated. I think Jagex is going to make Summoning f2p - I just don't see there being two different max Combat Levels between free and pay. I think this is an attempt (atleast partially) on their part, to "heal" a lot of wounds by f2p people who are angry at the whole Player Killing changes. Kind of like taking a bottle out of a baby's mouth and throwing a piece of candy at it... if you get my analogy :) I think it will be like any melee skill, in the sense that f2p has it, but it's surely a lot easier to be trained in members with all of the extra items, locations and stuff like that.

hey there once again - I really think this is a well thought out guide, so I want to put a couple more of my two cents in. Did another run with a friend of mine tonight (same person, only two of us) [hide=This is the setup I used tonight][/hide] It worked wonders. Was a GREAT mix of Bandos not hitting me a lot, and CONSTANT splashes from the mage. I don't know if you'd like to edit your guide when specifically talking about Duo setup versus a full team, or possibly talking about the importance of Magic defense in a small group. Another option would be to definatly test it out for yourself... but I am 100% sold on at least having half decent magic defense and good ranged. Thanks again, and I hope you don't see this as trying to hijack your thread or tell you what to do or anything malicious like that. Just would like to help out in any way possible towards this very thorough guide.

If you're worried about the trust issue, you could put something with lootshare in there. Also, I would highly suggest ruby bolts (until it hits half HP, hitting 50s is just nice), and as stated above, diamond bolts for after that.

I have never died at Bandos - it's fairly easy to stay alive, with or without magic defense or maxed range. I do however want to get better at it, and definatly make it easier for myself and my partner, so I took your advice and got jacked up with ranged defense, minimal magic! [hide=Picture of me using your tactic] [/hide] [hide=The two setups that I used previously] [/hide] Your method that I was using as the 'tank'. Bandos for sure hit me a lot less, but the mage was a really big pain in my butt. Not always hitting for high numbers, but hitting 7-10 quite often, it seemed to even stay on me while my partner was in full V, doing a HUGE majority of the damage. We killed 3 or 4, and then I got a nice suprise. Many hits right in a row, between 30-35, a combination of bandos getting lucky, and the mage staying on me. [hide=This was the result] [/hide] I do agree with the fact that Bandos hits a lot less with high ranged, but it's hard for me to say that less magic defense is for the better. I do realize this could have just been a freak accident, but I know that I don't die often, if ever, and I was chugging brews through the constant damage, and still died. I think the method for no magic defense seems to be ONLY for someone who's taking Bandos' hits, but not swinging at him...no? P.S. I'm not trying to take over your guide, or insult you or try to correct you or anything of that nature - I just want to find the best way possible to do it. And if your guide DOES get chosen for the AoW, I'm sure you'd want the best information possible.

I'm not sure if you read my post incorrectly or something, but I didn't say that Soma suggested this. I was just stating that my partner and I don't do this method. So when he replies back, has a firm understanding of the way we do it. That's all. Thanks for the other information, though. I was under the impression his Ranged attack was also mixed with magic.... Guess that was the wrong impression.

Hey soma, I have a question for you. (Going to refer to Graa as Bandos :) ) I duo Bandos with a friend quite often. We're still tweaking our equips for the best setups. We do NOT do the "tank" method where one person attacks Bandos and then clicks the ground - I like you, think it's very inefficient. I have seen different methods for what defenses are best, including having high magic defense. I have heard his ranging attack also has a magic type to - hense wanting magic defense. Your guide however goes with extreme minimal magic, and maximum ranging. I have been using Karils top, and either subing out K-Bottom or V-Skirt, but it seems no guides I see (especially yours), offer that as an option. Doesn't the mage 'minion' rip through you, with no magic defense? And doesn't Bandos hit MORE with less magic defense? Sorry if I'm unclear. Basically; Why no magic defense and why max range. Do some people do the magic defense for the minion? Or do they believe (and you say opposite) that he has a ranged/magic attack? And yes, anyone can reply to this, so feel free - but I'd definatly like soma's response. Thanks in advance. *EDIT* I'm the one who attacks Bandos and takes the damage in our duo team, fyi.

Hey jordan, I was just looking at your guide ( I think I'm going to use your outline for a guide I'm creating, if that's cool?) and I noticed the aviansie levels are missing one. There's a level 137 ! I don't know if someone already said this or not, didn't feel like browsing all 20 pages. :)
