I've got a co-ordinates clue that leads to the duel arena, do i have to duel someone to be able to dig? I can find no way into the arena (i know nothing of the duel arena i have never dueled) any help would be much appreciated.

I decided to do the fremmenik isles quest on friday, got to the point where you have to fix the bridges, crossed from the town clicked just below the nearest bridge and lagged. the lost connection text comes up and i wait and wait, then im in fally with my granite plate, dragon med and dragon scimmy, having lost my ring of wealth, glory amulet, rune platelegs, rune boots, obby cape and obby shield (aswell as some lobsters) thats roughly 1million gp which im sure to a lot of you is nothing, but to me is a nice amount of money. I was really angry for 10 mins, then i just got over it, i can always make the money back to buy the stuff i lost. Open ended games FTW.

I understand what your saying, i've heard many ideas on how the ROW works, it increases the amount of gold you get occasionally, it increases the amount of rares you get etc.. The only effect i have seen is when i needed to catch the ship to karamja and forgot gold so i killed goblins like i used to before i was members and i killed one and got 30 coins- goblins dont drop 30 coins without wealth (tested by me massacaring goblins in F2P). So thats the only effect ive seen that is proven (unless they increased what the goblins drop).

For your stats you could fish lobbies and sell them, not quick but easy to sell and fish. You should do slayer so that you can make use of your decent combat stats. Runecrafting nats is also a possibilty. Get ur farming up a lvl and buy a bunch of ranarr seeds (15-20k each easily done) then grow them and you will make at least 4 ranarrs per seed and possibly 7. Then sell Ranarrs 7k each (easily done)- worst case scenario you make 8k best case scenario you make 34k(per seed) all this while your doing something else of course(probably 10 mins to plant/harvest seeds and travel to bank/patch). I might log on and say to myself i'll go do some slayer and make 20-50k from an assignment, then i might cut some willows (just because) and make nothing. You can burn yourself out and get bored by just doing one thing over and over and over again to make money/get xp so i like to mix things up.

After having played Runescape for roughly 5 months and having surfed the various forums for 2/3 months it has come to my attention that their is a small/medium group of players who basically no longer have any fun with the game. The thing is these people tend to be very vocal about how poor recent updates have been, how Jagex has forgotten about high lvl players etc... What i don't understand is why these people continually barrack others over how poor the game is. If you no longer enjoy the game then why not just leave and be done with it, you are not obligated to 'warn' others of how poor the game has become in your opinion. If anyone can explain why these disilussioned players are so disilussioned do so. (@ mods this is not intended as a rant, i am specifically speaking to P2P players,I understand this could become a flame war-but that is not my intention). I want this to spark a general debate about what people think of the game and its ongoing developement, i want to hear from the very high level players i am talking about and their reasons for disliking the games updates et al. Edit: took out some inflammatory material, Would like to add that if anyone has any ideas on what would be good updates for high level players i'd like to hear them aswell (im not high lvl).

Its not easier, you've just played it for longer so it seems easier. I remember wandering around aimlessly for a couple of days picking stuff up and killing goblins-when you first join there is so much to take in it'll never seem 'easy'.

The reason BA doesnt give xp is so that pures dont gain unwanted levels. This is easily fixed though by giving the OPTION to exchange points for xp in a given skill (im thinking only combat skills but i guess it could be anything). They did it with PC why not with BA? I am the God of game balancing. Edit: I think BA was a success anyway as i did nothing but play it for a week, then got bored, but the success was in catching me for a week, after the alure of Barrows wore off ( less than a week) i got bored but i still do Barrows every so often to break up the skilling and for the possibilty of instant millions. I don't do BA because its hard to find a good team and the rewards are poor (i did 3 high gambles and got a rune wc axe, 50ish swordfish and something i cant remember.... :wall: ).

Keep your patience, and eventually the dice will come up with your number. No, you're not cursed. You just haven't hit the dice yet. Keep at it! When you finally get it, it will be that much sweeter. How can you say you dont believe in luck? Its a RANDOM number generator and thusly random generates numbers(actually it depends on what number generator they use and none of them are truely random), if you need a 10 to get a drop from a number list of 1-10. You could get 1,1,5,8,4,5,5,5,9,3 or you could get 10,10. I call this lucky i don't know what word you use for it...

There is nothing wong with what you did, ethics dont come into it, you had the guile to manipulate prices by creating self contained trading organisations. Price fixing is common in the real world, you took it to the Runscape world i see no problem with this. Real world trading is a different matter but i will not sit in judgement of you. edit:out of interest what was your peak net worth?Im guessing billions.

1)Runecrafting may be the slowest skill to train but is the simplest to do. 2)Herblore is a bastard because you need to get herbs and second ingredients and vials of water. From lvl 43-44 herblore i made 50ish energy pots, 30ish prayer pots and 50ish strength pots (im not entirely sure about those numbers) to get all the needed ingredients took many, many hours ( i refuse to buy seconds and only buy herbs{unidentified} in bulk and lately im broke). Thats from lvl 43-44.................... 3)Agility is slow and monotanous- although the ticket game thing is quite fun when there are a few people and it becomes a race :). 4)Slayer may be slow but has very good rewards. Those are in order of worst/slowest to best/fastest

I didnt actually know why pure essence was different to rune essence (i started after the update and got members 1.5 months ago). Now i do :). I see why this was done and also why this has angered people, it's probably not a conspiracy to make autoers join members though. Edit:it is Jagex's perogative to use any strategy possible to turn a profit (they are afterall a business). But too many people complain that Jagex's only motivation is money making and this is [cabbage]t. Jagex is one of the few games companies in existance that actually cares about its consumers and their needs/wants (rather than trying to tell their consumers what they want with poorly advised pr/marketing campaigns/stunts).

Lol i see we have a lot of budding mathmaticians (omg i cant spell this word) here, i have no clue what any of this is about. I'm fairly sure theres a much easier way of expressing the information than using a formula and indeed it was found - a table or indeed graph. Once your done with school you'll forget all this abstract nonsense (unless your an engineer :)) I despise maths and this is presicely why, you ask a question and end up with 17 answers and 58 ways of telling you those 17 answers.

1:5k is an insane ratio. In real life if your odds of achieving something are 1:5k give up its never gonna happen. Occasionally when slaughtering hundreds of things for slayer i wonder if i'm gonna gte something good, then i become obsessed with the idea and i keep killing for example trolls well past my slayer assignment in the hopes of getting say a granite shield. I may have an assignment of 135 but if i think about a good drop i may kill double this (obviously not gaining slayer xp which is why i was there in the first place). This is my problem and i imagine a lot of people suffer from this. THE problem is the 1:5k ratio, this means that some people will kill 150k of things and receive nothing (this is entirely possible) and that others will kill 50 and get TWO dragon drops (equally possible) now i know if i'd been playing for 2 years and hadnt got a decent drop i'd probably quit (not because i was greedy, but because the game is basically laughing in your face). Jagex could lower the ration but then (in theory) the items would be further devalued. Unfortunately there is no solution to bad luck and no way of transfering good luck.

Ranger is slightly underpowered, melee is fine, magic is almost overpowered already. To the person suggesting magic armour should have high defence stats and cost 200-500k .........NO thats the single most unbalancing thing that you could do. It would mean mages were INVINCIBLE to melee. Clarification-mages can stop people moving and hit them multiple times quickly the only chance melee has is to close the distance and kill them quickly(3-4 hits) if (cheap) mage armour has high stats then melee has no chance of doing this and will get frozen again. The msb special should definetely only use 50%, but take into account the crystal bow (limited charge) is basically a constant special.
