  1. Change what? Banning unbalanced trades is a FUTURE update.
  2. I'm only seeing "not log on" as part of this "boycott". And yeah I'm pretty sure, since you will never get enough people to make a difference. Nothing will happen if you boycott, because nobody cares. It's never worked, and never will. You simply don't have the power to make a difference just like the countless previous attempts. No need to force the number of people who quit. If there truly is not enough demand for this game, then jagex will know long before you do. Preaching this kind of stuff just to give people reasons not to play is pointless and gives the "leader" the illusion that he wields some form of power. That sounds like the same kind of stuff from a clicḫ̩̉̉d movie where the good guys all join together to show the power of unison to beat the bad guy. Ah that brings back memories.
  3. Who says we didn't cancel the subscription? Besides, if enough people "boycott" it'll show something to jagex that hanging around on a world getting muted won't. not logging in doesn't really change much. And besides not nearly enough people will "boycott" so I can safely laugh at your pitiful attempts to make a different.
  4. Wait you're seriously thinking that your "boycott" will have the slightest effect  . It's a lil hard to show a boycott while you're still paying a monthly subscription to this game
  5. Edit: GOOD NEWS! this rant is obsolete because jagex is going to make lootshare share loot!! : Wow, this is probably like my first rant. It's obviously about the (future) update but unlike the yelping morons that are just screaming about how they hate the game, I've decided to actually give an explanation. Yeah, I love monster hunting. It's fun, it's collective, it's teamwork. But how can I get a team effort if they don't let us trade loot? Now correct me if I'm wrong but with this update, if I get a d axe at dks or a hilt at gwd, I won't be able to give my teammates a fair share? This could potentially endanger the whole sport of monster hunting. If they don't find a solution to this problem, looks like I'll be going on constant solo trips. But where's the fun in that? The whole point of monster hunting is having a team. I'm pretty surprised they missed this. Obviously we aren't each going to receive a special drop of equal value on each trip, so how are we supposed to split the drops evenly? Nobody's going to want to dk/gwd if only one person is going to get rich while the others get nothing. Surely there's a solution, in fact the "solution" that they have is lootshare. Problem is, that doesn't work. The idea of lootshare is that it's supposed to share the loot. People who do gwd in teams will know that generally there's always one person who gets a lot of the drops, while the others get minimal drops. (I have yet to understand how this happens). Now this isn't a problem, because it's helpful enough to have lootshare tell us what the drops are, but if we can't give our teammates a fair share of big drops like armadyl's plate, then how is a faulty lootshare supposed to be a compensation? I hope that they can find a way around this... and I hope someone explains this problem on the RSOF. I can't because that forum gives me a headache. Anyone have a solution?
  6. Glad to see my guide is helping people pursue their goals. Of course! Any goal that requires some heavy commitment (Like not dieing of boredom at the Mage Training Arena :uhh: ). 99 skills are the most common to fit that description so I just used those as examples. Hard to say, since you don't have many options. Crowded hunter areas are one of the barriers to the skill too so I'm sorry but I don't have an answer. The choice is really up to you.
  7. LP that bloodshot eye literally sends chills up my spine  , both my eyes looked like that after an eye operation too.
  8. Forget the anime. Go manga. I find the naruto and bleach mangas really boring and slow also. Maybe because the first manga I read was prince of tennis, which was really good. Meh, it's always been like that. But the advantage with the manga is that it's way farther ahead (seriously, over a year's worth of material ahead) Honestly, bleach does a really impressive job at making fillers. The Menos forest didn't take too long, actually had a point (which many fillers fail at) and had some interesting elements like Rukia's last line. IMO it was a really good filler. Now I am, however, looking for a good site to look at naruto/bleach/other manga(s) online (downloading is not an option, I don't delete stuff and this laptop is running out of space) Same, but I get the opposite reaction towards Yuri :-$ (soi fong and yoruichi ftw :XD: )
  9. I think it's safe to say that TIF doesn't really have the stereotypical MMORPG nerds that you'd typically expect. :
  10. Like many said before, I'm very impressed with this find
  11. If people didn't get turned on by pixels then there wouldn't be a market for pornography. (porn sites generate the most revenue on the internet BTW). Besides, it's not like they made the female outfit to please the "nerdy 15-year-olds who have a hole in their pocket". It's just to make them more attractive.
  12. Heh, as long as he's not bashing the GE his articles really have some deep and interesting meaning to them. This one, I thought, was really good.
  13. You're going to have to provide some examples for some explanations for that then. Because the mere fact of logging into world 2 (or even just logging into the forums) requires more effort than going to GE. Very quickly yes, but not instantaneously. Therefore even if the opportunity cost was lower, there was still a cost in time which was then completely eliminated by GE. Also, crippled nature? lousy interfaces? That's a matter of personal taste. With price fluctuations that's hardly surprising. With price fluctuations that's hardly surprising. Ah now here's something you may have missed. Bulk selling. You see if someone had one snapdragon seed in their bank, they little incentive to sell it because they would spend some time only to get 35k as opposed to someone who sells 100 snapdragon seeds for 3.5m. This means that the person who sells for 35k just won't be bothered to spend the time and the item will rot away in the person's bank. When the GE comes out, then they have no reason not to sell and then they sell for 25k each. Thanks to methods taught by ego_scorpion, I have learned some very interesting things about selling incentives which also explains why people are willing to sell for such low prices. Basically i learned that it was possible to buy things for outrageously low prices (such as ranarrs for 1k each, green d hides for 500 each). The reason for people selling for so low? they can't be bothered to spent time selling, I offer the instantaneous option and so they sell on the basis of "getting something is better than nothing". Although I disagreed with him at the time, it seems that he had the most accurate vision of the opportunity cost of selling. If you could just see the prices that I was able to get away with, you would realize that the prices at GE are, in fact, higher than what you'd expect. Another way this extra incentive can be seen is with the GE itself. When it first came out, plenty of people were so glad they had gotten rid of stuff in their bank and then contemplated all the millions they had gotten. Isn't it pretty obvious? Stuff that was previously sitting in banks collecting dust is now sell-able material. This sell-able material can be anything! Even stuff that is easy to sell. Therefore, I think it's pretty clear why even things that were easy to sell have greatly decreased in value. See above for explanation, which I might add all has to do with opportunity cost. Are you kidding? potions are hard to sell. I spent hours trying to sell my super restore potions. Had it not been for GE, I would have given up on herblore all together. The subjective nature of what's "reasonable" or "easy to sell" is a fallacy in your article because it's really not true. It's hardly a crash when people are still willing to supply the goods for just a slightly lower price. Crash would imply that there is no longer a market for certain goods or at least imply a catastrophic situation. What we have here is a hardly a catastrophic situation. Well where are the riots? where are the floods of rants on the rants forum? If this is supposed to be a crash then this is the crash with the lowest amount of fallout that I've ever seen. Just explain what you think is a crash.
  14. Of course, it's because the rest of the market now has to complete with people who can easily buy/sell at GE. Again, it's the opportunity cost: Why sell on forums when you can sell at GE? From the moment that it takes time to sell, then opportunity cost becomes an issue. GE is easier than ANY previous transaction because it requires such a minimal effort. All these goods sold "easily" but still took time to sell. Nats, for example, were perfectly fine but they still took time to sell. First off, I disagree. Once I noticed the opportunity cost, the price of nats fell right where I expected them to. Basically, find the average price at which the goods you were selling on forums were sold INSTANTANEOUSLY. The price of GE falls very close to that price. What were your predictions based on? arbitrary percentages? The only items that fell by a lot are those that have a high opportunity cost. Apple seeds for example, they are a nightmare to sell so obviously the opportunity cost of selling them is going to be a high percentage of a price. And of course, when GE came out their value significantly decreased. If this had happened for no apparent reason then I might have been tempted to agree, however all these items are now much easier to sell, therefore there is a gain in time and opportunity cost and therefore there is no way this can be considered a "crash" Well part of the problem is your arbitrary definition of a "crash". I'm just saying there's no abnormal level of crisis in the community.
  15. I'm guessing you don't do castle wars much
  16. What he said. I have evidence, but it will get a good friend in a lot of trouble so i cant post it. The world of rmts has more scammers then legit sellers just so you know, most of them dont care about rep, couse they make an acc on one of the forums, do 3 or 4 sales, rip some one off then make a new account. The fact is the duel arena was one of the worst ways to real world trade, the best way is put the money on a lvl 3 and die to a guard on varrock castle roof. Proof that you can't show me isn't considered proof and thus hardly changes the validity of your arguments. Besides, the existence of all the underground scamming websites in the world doesn't change the fact that your assumptions are biased. Nowhere is it indicated that this was a covert update aimed at getting rid of stakers. There are only speculations on that matter.
  17. There is no crash or at least not what I would consider to be a "crash", all the prices that are falling can easily be explained by opportunity cost. Take 1k nature runes for example: The cost of making them is cost of essence + the time taken to craft them + time taken to sell them. I've made and sold literally millions of nats, and the relationship between time and price is crystal clear. If I charged 10 gp less (times when I was in a hurry, or simply wanted to get it over with because I hate selling stuff), it took me much less time to sell. For a huge change in price the sell out was instantaneous. This, as well as the success of merchants, only goes to show how much the time taken to sell a good is quite an important part of the opportunity cost. So what happens when you, not only decrease, but almost completely NEGATE the opportunity cost? The price decreases of course! This applies for all goods that take time to sell. Why do you think armor or weapons haven't decreased? Because the time taken to sell is a very small percentage of the price as opposed to raw/processed materials that have a high selling cost. Sellers have had goods decrease in price by a lot, but is this a crash? No! Only some items have decreased, and if you've bought/sold these items frequently then you'd realize how this all makes sense. Saying that there is a loss of 30 gp on a random good because of the GE is very misleading because it doesn't take into account the cost (in time) of selling which is no longer needed. This means that, therefore, sellers are not spending as much time selling on forums and therefore they are spending more time gathering the materials that they are most efficient at and when more people are making more stuff, supply shifts to the right which leads to a decrease in price. How is this a crash? There's nothing wrong, nobody is out begging on the street, in fact a lot of people are thrilled that they don't have to spend time selling (although some of those people also complain about the decrease in price because they just want benefits with no downside). All that to say that the sellers are certainly NOT in a state of chaos. If the good simply isn't worth providing, they will switch to something else (and given the economic structure of this game, that's incredibly easy to do). Also, don't forget that that a lot of buyers are extremely happy about this update. It saves a lot of time on their end as well. There is no "crisis" on the buyers end. Do you even know what hyper-inflation is? It's when the value of the gp decreases by 500% or more in short period of time. Has that happened in runescape? Obviously not. What we have in our game is a controlled amount of inflation where the benefits greatly outweigh the costs. The introduction of alchemy also provided many important jobs for skillers. The objective of price stability was slightly affected for a huge gain in the objective of full employment. Besides, even if gp was "overinflated", introducing a method to reduce the opportunity cost of production will certainly not reverse that.
  18. They are NOT limiting trades, they are limiting trades at GE. And considering that people haven't realized this until now simply shows how little of a barrier this is. Besides, it's a perfectly reasonable limitation. If you were buying something with the intention of using it, why would you sell it again straight away? Unless you were trying to seek an easy profit using the GE. The only people who would do so are merchants, and I'm pretty sure merchants won't limit themselves to a mere 5% margin so it doesn't even get in their way either. Therefore the only effect is that it prevents people from abusing the GE. Work around it, buy from GE and sell on forums. I hate it when people don't try and find solutions and then just rant because it's easier. STOP whining and be proactive. Again, if you really were an effective merchant determined to take advantage of GE, why did you notice this 2 weeks AFTER the update took place?
  19. Unless you're at an uptight religious private school, I'm pretty sure you've seen girls dress this way before.
  20. I keep forgetting your a girl. :wall: You're avatar throws me off lol. Avatars are freakly like that. It always seems like the person/thing in the picture is the one "talking". Like for Celt23 I was expecting to see a squirrel at first :XD:
  21. I actually agree with him this time
  22. Woot! I'll post a portrait picture of myself as soon as I get my webcam set up. In the meantime, here's some pictures of me doing my two sports: Rock climbing: and Krav Maga:
