  1. What are the current prices of the new vestment sets (all six items for each set) and animal staves? (Incidentally, I notice that a lot of people are selling off their staves...)
  2. Aaaaaaaaaaand, for the fourth time... what sort of price can we expect them to bottom out at, approximately?
  3. I'd also like to know this, and the question has been asked several times since page 167 or so (at least twice by me) without getting a single answer. Also, on the plus side, partyhats are useless items. It's better that they're being bought out over other items, because it keeps merchants away from items such as 3rd age that people may actually want to buy for gameplay purposes.
  4. I'm inclined to think it's prbably fake -- why would your second mod friend go to the trouble of copying and pasting the entire thing into script format when a simple print-screen would be both easier and more believable? If you're trying to fake from scratch, however, a script is obviously much easier to do. I have a couple of friends who are Player Mods, but who I don't think are loyal sycophants, so they would probably have been openly critical of this.
  5. Dude. I totally take that bet. There is no way you could make 90m in 12 hours of dk'ing. That INCLUDES set up, getting to the lair and everything. Lrn2hyperbole. So you're claiming a figure that is only slightly above the price you specify for onyx and don't see the problem with grossly exaggerating? That's like a government saying "OMG we're trillions of dollars in debt, we're raising VAT to 20%!" when in reality they're one dollar in debt. Their action of raising VAT is justified because it's the all-justifying magical hyperbole, right? Dude. I totally take that bet. There is no way you could make 90m in 12 hours of dk'ing. That INCLUDES set up, getting to the lair and everything. If he was just talking about drops and not subtracting costs, yes he can. I bought an Armadyl Godsword for 100m and sold it for 96m four hours later... OMG I made 96m in four hours, so I value my time at 24m per hour!
  6. Have spectrals and arcanes been bought out, or are they likely to be soon? I'm seeing quite a lot of buy offers for spectrals in particular... I really hope not, because an arcane shield has been a long-time goal of mine and I can probably get it in a couple of weeks. :(
  7. Of course you won't get an offer filled if it's invalid, regardless of whether if it's above or below the specified range. What am I missing here? Also, how did you even get an offer in for a Divine above max price? That would require it to fall in price in the GE, which to my recollection has never happened. EDIT: Nevermind, forgot that sigils decrease in price whenever the BSS increases and vice versa.
  8. What does using a chisel on a house tab actually accomplish?
  9. If it's not meant to be practical armour, it shouldn't be given stats that outclass every other item in the game at the time of release: The kiteshield was by far the best shield in the game until the DFS came out. The amulet was for a long time the best magic amulet by a huge margin. Thankfully Dungeoneering fixed that. The platebody gives the highest crush defense in the game even now. The vambraces still give the highest magic defense in the game. The mage hat still gives the highest magic attack bonus (disregarding Zuriel's hood, and even then it's equal). For those who don't like degrading gear, the full helm, platebody, platelegs, mage hat, robe top and robe bottoms still give the best stats in the game for their respective slots and classes. EDIT: And yes, sometimes the difference is only minor, but that's beside the point. Show off items should be for showing off, not for maximising your stat boosts. What if partyhats gave +4 strength, for example?
  10. I'm surprised nobody has tried to find the new 3rd age prayer armour.
  11. What are Arcanes likely to do over the summer? If I have a lot of free time I will probably work towards one, but I won't bother if they are likely to become worth about 300m street again.
  12. I've been playing non-constantly for three weeks and am close enough to 70 that I can easily achieve it in three hours of gameplay. 1) Use Tears of Guthix as often as possible. It's also worth using Penguin points, since tokens aren't a limiting factor for the stream necklace as they are with every other item. 2) Solo to begin with, then move on to team play once you hit around 40-50. I recommend using world 117, despite the large number of elitists and morons. 3) If you come across a Shadow Silk Hood, bind it. Otherwise, bind the best spear you can wield and a platebody once you hit 50 (which negates the need to find armour every round, which REALLY helps). 4) For each run, solo the lower floors on complexity 1 to get them over with quickly. The last 5-10 floors should be done on complexity 6, and preferably in teams. Start doing large floors once you get access to floor 25. Overall, you will find that levels come at a fairly constant rate after 50 or so -- that is, it'll take you roughly the same amount of time to get from 69-70 as with 51-52.
  13. So this guy is making 100k per day at green dragons... doesn't that mean that he is, on average, taking about an hour to kill each green dragon? :P More to the point, I fully agree with you. It bugs me when people say they're "saving money" by using Miscellania herbs instead of selling them, since they don't have to buy the herbs later.
  14. Just a suggestion for helms... the full slayer helmet is pretty good. Comapred to Ahrim's Hood, you're exchanging 3 points of magic attack for 20 points of melee defense and 30 points of range defense, as well as a +10 magic defense boost. For me, that helm seems to provide the best balance of magic offense to overall defense.
  15. How are 3rd age pieces doing currently?
  16. Another factor to consider with the Arcane in particular is that it only has two practical PVM uses, and magic attack bonus only really matters for one of those (rock lobsters). It's also an item for the elite, who are the same people who will be inclined to work towards the new and arguably better Dungeoneering shields; the same holds true for the other Spirit Shields. Any idea what sort of price we can expect the Arcane to settle at once more people start getting the Daemonheim shields?
  17. To all those saying that it's the best and thus should be difficult to obtain -- how would you feel if the price of Barrows gloves in the RFD chest was suddenly increased to 950m? According to the logic I've read so far, this is a completely valid and sensible suggestion.
  18. How would I go about doing this, and could someone please list experience rates for various methods? I don't have 75 agility, so unless that can easily and quickly be attained from 71, barehanded butterfly catching is probably out of the question. I do have one pair of hunter brawlers, but I could never survive at the black salamander hunting spot for any length of time with my stats and lack of 500 clan members willing to stand around and defend me for well over an hour, so I presume I'm best just alching those.
  19. At what levels can you start to make wines efficiently? Does it ever fail? Sorry, I'm completely unfamiliar with the process. Judging from those rates, I'm guessing you can expect to pay 16m to spend about 25 hours getting 99 cooking from 70, or thereabouts?
  20. How useful is Soul Split for dueling? I realise its uses in multicombat, but it seems to me as if a Deflect curse such as Deflect Ranged would be better for 1v1 combat, since it doesn't depend on damage dealt and acts as a disincentive for the opponent to use ranged.
  21. Why is Verac's usually recommended? The only differenece I can see is that you're losing +6 range defense for +3 prayer, the latter of which is useless in PVP as far as I'm aware. EDIT: Which helm were you using in your tests? You say you used full Ahrim's, but I can't see how you could even get close to 220 slash defense without a melee defense helm.
  22. Is it really worth raising your defensive bonuses even with relatively low defense, then? I assumed my 78 defense would be close to useless against maxed players and so focused on my magic offense, which is maxed out, but if you can make good use of it with just 75... EDIT: Regarding helms, I think the guide could use a little more detail. It only covers Ahrim's Hood and Barrows Helms in a small amount of detail (and no longer mentions Dharok's as the best Barrows helm), while making little to no mention of other options such as the Full Slayer Helmet and the Helm of Neitiznot.
  23. I'd say SoL + BS is the best. You don't even need to farcast meleers anymore thanks to the new staff. I've never really tried ahrim's set effect in PvP, all I know is that it has a 25% succes chance to lower your opponents strength level by 5 levels everytime. Pretty deadly. Especially if you combine it with Enfeeble and Leech Strength. Speaking from inexperience, maybe you could switch between the SoL and Ahrim's staff as needed? This could work, but you'd have to leave an open slot for the shield every time, which might be a hassle, and the SOL special deactivates when you unequip it.
  24. Is Ahrim's Staff really worthwhile to use if you have a staff of light? If you have a Mage's book, you're losing out on +17 magic attack and +5% damage, and if you're using a shield, that's your defensive bonuses out of the window.
  25. Well, okay. I'll ditch Void and the arcane. What about the 3rd age amulet? From my experience, greater accuracy is more useful even with much worse defense, since not only can you freeze most opponents out of range, but you can also deal more or less constant damage even through Armadyl with a good enough attack bonus. While 90m is ridiculous, 40m and decreasing doesn't seem quite so unmanageable.
