I need to stop staying up so late, I spend more money than I should on things I shouldn't. Spend $45 on records today. Got screamin' deals on both, but still. I have ~150 left and that has to get me through March, and I have to buy my own food for 9 days since the food centers shut down over break. But I can buy ramen, sandwich ingredients, and other things and get by on probably 50-60.

I don't know how anyone can bear to use Apple earphones. I threw both pairs I've gotten away the second I opened the iPod. My friend has broken apple earphones so they cut you when you take them out of your ear. That's pretty much the listening experience you get with Apple earphones anyway. While we're on the subject of headphones, I HATE Beats by Dre. Not only are they terribly overpriced for what they are, but they're everywhere these days. Not that that bothers me, just that the people I see with them are never actually using them, just wearing them around their neck. They seem to treat them as a sort of status symbol, more than an actual device for listening. After listening to like 3 different kinds of them (portables, earbuds, and the full size headphones), I can say that anybody who buys them has to be really ignorant when it comes to headphones.

That needed to happen, I've been waiting for it forever. Looks like next episode will be super action packed, I'm excited.

That's why I use headphones now, after about 5 pairs of broken earphones. My headphones have kind of a thin cord, but a 2 year warranty so I'm not worried

You my good sir, should never get a motor cycle. Apparently spiders, along with other insects like wasps, just love motor cycles. Read the first entry of this article for a good laugh. After reading halfway in the spider bit, it was enough for me to not want to ride a motorcycle. Once it got into the wasps, there is no way I am sleeping tonight. Thank you for another tacking another sleepless night as a result of the internet with that link, Randox. Humph. I hold that as one of their best articles ever (right after my favorite, which also starts with a spider). I laughed pretty much the whole way through that one when I re-read it tonight (been a while). I also hold you slightly responsible for seeing an entry named spiders and not turning back if they bother you  You should not read my favorite article (though I feel like you already have), or that one about insects that I can't remember the name of. In recompense, I offer you a link to this, about zombie survival tactics that will get you killed. No spiders, but there is a great picture of an angry squirrel with the best caption ever (in context). This article shall be my bedtime story tonight. And I hate how long clothes take to dry. I never said I disliked the article (in fact, I can agree with you on how good it was). It was the bit with the wasps what disturbed me the most since I was stung by them often when I was a little child, which sort of justifies how I cringed hard at the imagery of going down the interstate and fighting off a horde of those abominations. Have you also read this article by chance? It's one of my top five favorites, even though I cannot get certain zombie fanatics I know to agree their logic about zombies is faulty. As for the article you linked, I've seen it before. Clothing, oh boy. I find it worse how it's always my favorite pieces that get ruined within in the first two washes done on them no matter what. It makes it more concerning how I have ordered a $25 shirt (including ship costs) being shipped to me, so it would be leave me miffed if it gets ruined within the wash. What I've been doing lately is making sure to hang dry all of my shirts that I really like and don't want ruined, especially long-sleeved. Makes them not shrink and last much longer

Where in California are you headed?

Just got interviewed and photographed, I'm going to be in a book releasing this fall about vinyl records and collectors (The New Face of Vinyl: Youth's Digital Devolution). I'm one of the three people they chose from San Francisco, pretty cool. Plus I get a free copy when it's released.

I really don't see that being the case, Gabe. He's right. Every year at my high school they would have a group called Invisible Children come by and show a video on Kony and the situation and everyone would be really supportive and post it on Facebook and maybe buy a bracelet for about a week, and then everyone forgets about it until it comes around the next year.

Spent too much on records today. [hide=Ordered] Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot ($10) The National - High Violet ($10) James Brown - Live at the Apollo ($7) Alcest - Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde ($15) Honestly not a bad price for anyof those, I got them all cheaper than I usually see them. Best Buy has them at stupid cheap prices for some, considering I see the Wilco album for over 25 in stores. And the Alcest album was really cheap from a distro, I see it for $40 cheapest on Discogs.[/hide] Gonna buy an ikea shelf to help organize my collection better and then I'm done spending for a while.

[hide]Carl is dumb. I hate all this kids in this show, which might just be a part of my hatred for kids. Pissed that they killed off Dale, I liked him. Kill Carol, she's annoying.[/hide]

It does feel weird realizing I started playing Runescape 8 years ago, and quit only like 1 year ago. Been on TIF for so long, it's hard to imagine leaving. Came here when I was just a kid, 12 years old and dumb.

Really enjoyed Napalm Death's new album Utilitarian as well as the Vaura album, Selenelion.

Been trying to buff up my collection of Beefheart and Toby Driver stuff lately. Bought on vinyl: Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band - Lick My Decals Off, Baby Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band - Mirror Man Vaura - Selenelion (Toby Driver project) Ordered on vinyl: maudlin of the Well - Bath/Leaving Your Body Map Pretty pumped that I got those motW vinyl albums, they went on sale today and only 100 copies of each are available to America, 100 to Europe. Glad I got it now instead of having to play eBay prices.

I don't see how too much would be accomplished. I'm 800 miles from family in school, and getting involved won't really solve anything.

Be prepared for a long ass rant. So today after I got back from my class, I played a bit of SSBB, and then I got a phone call from my dad. He just asked me how classes were going and if Im enjoying living in the city, asked if I needed any money, standard stuff. Then he told me some good news: after 2 years of unemployment, he managed to get a full time job, making money equivalent to what he was making when he was laid off. Hes finally financially stable again. Since he wont get any vacation time for a year, my stepmom will drive up to SF when I get off school and right when I get home Im getting put into driving school and getting my license and a car. And then he casually slips in a comment along the lines of aside from your brother, everythings fine. And knowing my dad, I have to ask about it or he wont actually say what happened. So heres what my brother, the 19 year old who plays Cawadoody all day and wastes all of his gas money on chewing tobacco did. So about a week ago, my dad comes home from work and sees a For Sale sign on my brothers car (a Kia, which my dad bought for my brother with his money, and he pays his gas money and insurance). My dad just goes up and asks my brother if its a joke and he says No, I want to sell my car. Why? I dont like it, I want to buy a truck. See, my brother is a hardcore American. Hes a homophobic racist who believes that anything that isnt American-made is a piece of shit. So he wants an American truck. My dad tells him that the car isnt his to sell, especially since he pays gas and insurance and a truck will only cost more for gas. My brother AGREES not to sell his car and my dad leaves. The next day after my dad comes home from work, theres an old truck in the driveway. My dad goes and asks my brother whos truck that is. He says its his. My dad just says You know what, Im done with you. Youre a liar, youve always been a liar, and Im not going to deal with it anymore. The next day when my dad comes home, all of my brothers possessions are gone. His furniture is there but his stuff is gone. Now, my mom lives in Utah and is visiting California for the week - visiting old friends, visiting family, taking my little brother to Disneyland - and staying at my aunts house. My dad attempts to contact my brother and he wont answer his phone or anything. My mom then calls my dad screaming at him and crying. See, my brother packed all his shit up and went crying to her, because apparently he was THAT butthurt at the comment my dad made. Except my brother has a big reputation for lying and everyone in my house knows it, as well as exaggerating things as much as possible. According to my mom, he came to her saying that my dad was screaming at him and degrading him, talking shit on him, me, my little brother, and my mother. One example my dad gave was that according to my brother, my dad made fun of him for believing in God. Now, my dad has never talked about religion to either me or my brother. Once when we were in the car he actually made a passing comment along the lines of You just have to see where the good lord takes you in life, so I KNOW that that was complete bullshit, hell, its entirely irrelevant to the situation. Except my mom doesnt believe that, because as smart as she is, she never denies anything my brother says, which he knows and exploits. BUT IT GETS BETTER. See, he didnt just make this up now. Hes been planning to move out for a while. He didnt sign up for any community college courses this semester, and my dad didnt even find out until he questioned him after he wasnt leaving the house and the term had started. My brothers reasoning was I dont have the money for classes, even though my dad has paid for all of his classes since the beginning. My brother knew my mom was coming down and just wanted to move to Utah, because its a more American place. He was cumming all over the place when we visited it for Christmas because there were a bunch of hicks there. So my brother wanted to move out, which he was given the choice to do when my mom first moved to Utah in August. He just decided now, and instead of being a reasonable, normal person and you know, ASKING, he decides to throw a big hissyfit, tell a bunch of lies to my mother and make her hate my dad, and do it that way. I think the thing that annoys me most about this is that my dad is finally financially stable and can afford to keep him around even when he does nothing all day, and my mom struggles to get by as is, and now hes putting this burden on her. tl;dr - my brother is the [bleep]ing pinnacle of idiocy.

Ice in a drink that isn't water? Have some of these Those scare me too much to buy them. I imagine the stones crashing against my teeth like ice does and it makes me cringe.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Maleficus1055 replied to runescapeloser22's topic in Off-Topic
Been playing Bioshock 2, it's great so far. Better than the original, makes me excited for Infinite. -
Every time I go to this convention to trade/buy Magic cards with vendors, ALL of the Yugioh vendors just blast dubstep and it's so terrible.

Let's see, yesterday I went out with my girlfriend into the city, went record shopping (bought 2 Beefheart albums) and then grabbed some Boba. As we were walking around in this asian district, this little asian man who looks super nice wheeling a wheelchair passed us by and then shouted at us "BUTT-[bleep]ERS! I'M GONNA [bleep] YOU IN THE BUTT!" Did not expect that. Today we're going to Japantown with some friends, I have to not spend any money since I'm buying something in a week and I have just enough for it.

What do you do when you're left home alone?
Maleficus1055 replied to fastortoise's topic in Off-Topic
I'm "home alone" nearly all day most days, I live in a dorm and my roommate literally disappeared back in October, I believe he is in China now. I mean, I have friends and the girlfriend over at all hours of the day, but when I want, i can always have an empty room. I tend to blast music, sing, lounge in my underwear, play video games, and bum it. -
In early March, I'm going to be interviewed and photographed and featured in a book about the resurgence of vinyl in youth, in their San Francisco segment. Cool

When it's just a t-shirt, I have these black converse that are falling to pieces. I need to buy a new pair soon, looking at these: http://www.converse.com/#/products/Shoes/ChuckTaylor/125647C When I'm wearing a button down, I usually wear my Timberland desert boots. Looking to get some new boots soon as well, just have no idea what I'm gonna get.

I don't get president's day off at my school. I do, however, get cesar chavez day off next month. Probably cause we have a building named after him.
