Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince (Not Read Book)
Wyrm - the prophesy just states that either Harry kills Voldemort, or Voldemort kills harry. It doesn't say that the only person who could kill Voldemort is Harry. So, Voldemort could kill Harry, and then be killed by someone else. Nevilles the only one of the 'minor' male characters that actually has some subplot, so I think he's gonna be a bit more important than we think. And I refuse to believe that Harry is done with Cho. Apparently they're using the Chinese looking girl from neighbours. Not a clue if they are, but I saw a picture of her in the paper. There is no way they are wasting that with just a simple mistletoe kiss.

Reel Big Fish
I don't think I've actually heard many of their songs (that I can recall by name anyway), but Sell Out is one of the greatest songs ever. I'd go see them even if I don't know any of the songs, just to hear that one.

Myths?
Is myth Busters kind of like Brainiac on Sky One? They run through an endless supply of caravans. They tested whether using your mobile phone in a petrol station was risky - it's not, but don't mess with static electricity around petrol - BOOM! hehe

I love Su Dokus. After I finished my stats course, I still had two terms left. So I spent two terms of stats lessons doing Su Dokus. I'll be shocked if I get better than an E.

The Terrorists Turn to Birmingham...
I dunno, we're not so bad - 3rd or 4th richest economy in the world, the driving force behind humanitarian works, we have some of the most diverse cities in the world. Far better than we were 200 years ago. The 'peak' of the Empire (also refered to, by me, as the lowest point in out history), was around 50 year later, or 150 years ago. Not a single person I know is proud of the Indian massacres that followed the mutiny, or how we manipulated countries for our own gain, how we slaughtered those who opposed us, how we aided and abetted the slave trade, how we were generally not nice people. Since then 'ethics' have taken over. You're the first person I've met who actually considers that to be a bad thing. I hope your being sarcastic. If your not, then I hope we do introduce that policy. I'll accuse your family of being terrorist and you all die, no questions asked. Fool

The Terrorists Turn to Birmingham...
All the services will be incredibly jumpy for the next few weeks - no one will take the risk of leaving a bag by itself without reporting it in. Expect a few more false alarms over the next few weeks. Might I add - this is just fear, something the terrorists wanted to cause. If we're gonna allow a bit of nervousness cripple our country, we're letting them win.

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince (Not Read Book)
Wow this just showed me how much I don't remember...which book? I'm startin to remember something about Giants..I think it was the same book with that reporter..book 4? Nope, it was the last book, Order of Phoenix. And there is no way Harry is done with Cho. Built up the girls character over 3 books and then dump her? Why? Who is Harry gonna make the 'I always loved you' speech to at the end of book 7? (it will happen!) Hermione? Heck no! She's Rons! Who's left? One of the Patil twins? Or maybe Harry will prefer a bit of Dean? Not in a kids book. She has 2 books left to create a new female character, or build up another one to a point where the audience will give a damn about her. Not enough time, she might as well stick with Cho. The last chapter of book seven was written soon after (or half way through) the first book - she'd had the plot outlines written almost as soon as she thought of the series. I saw an interview where she said that they were all kept in a safe at her house - apparently her daughters friends kept trying to sneak into it when they came round. How old is her daughter now anyway? Anyway, Harry will kill Voldemort, but in a sick reversal of what happened to Harry and his mother, Harry will go via Bellatrix Lestrange (or however she's spelt). The protection of her love for Voldemort will save Voldemort's life, and kill Harry. Then Neville finishes ole' Voldemort off. I can almost guarentee that the final part will be something to do with Neville, and fact, I'd put money on it. But I won't until I've read HPB to see if there's anymore clues.

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince (Not Read Book)
Who said anything about speed-reading? I read at my average pace - which happens to be about twice most of my friends, but that's not the point. With my last competition, the girl I was racing beat me, but she couldn't remember the name of the character that died! I won't mention it here, in case of spoilers. My annual re-read of all my series is half way through - I've already read through all my old Animorphs books (they were so cool, about 5 years ago when I read them). I might start the Potter books on Mon, I read the 5th one again a month ago, but I think I might back it up with 3 and 4 next week. Anyway: plot discussions! What do you think is gonna happen!

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince (Not Read Book)
I think Dumbledores gonna do something dodgy. There have been a couple of hints in the last few books (normally right that the very end) which suggests he might not be all he seems. For instance, while Potter recounts how Voldemort came back, Dumbledore has something like triumph in his eyes. Read the book to get the exact wording. And neville is far too obvious. It's blatently gonna be Cho, right when he's on a date with her. One that he doesn't screw up.

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince (Not Read Book)
I get a free copy at midnight for doing at work at my local store. Long story as to why... The last two books I've had a competition with my friend. Won the first, lost the second. The 4th book I read in 4 hours, the 5th in 6 hours. I'm aiming to finish this in 4.

creation or evolution
Insane, did you read the article all the way? While the 'full' skeleton was a fake, the two individual pieces were previously undiscovered animals, one a dinosaur that lived in trees, and the other a bird whose wings ended dinosaur's hands. It was not one, but two, missing links. However, the original point about scientists willing to accept fake evidence also stands. The researcher's claim that they told National Geographic they were concerned, while NG claim the researchers never told them squat. One of them is lying.

OMG IT HAS ARRIVEDDDDD!! 3 web-cam pictures of the head adde
Yep, everyone loves the 6th July! Can I say: I want that! Yes I can! It looks so cool. Just a tip: don't put it near your bed. If you have a nightmare, open your eyes, and find an Alien head an inch from your face... you might need to change your sheets.

A question for fellow athiests
Woah wo wo wo woah, don't include me here please. ............ *Edit* I'd just like to add, regarding how you said most charities are Christian (which I don't dispute), just because that's so doesn't mean the money's coming from Christians. For instance I'm not one, however, because oxfam appeals to me with its ideologies I'll support it. There are of course Christian beliefs which I strongly support, ie the commandments, but I also share Islamic and Buddhist ideas. This does not make me a Christian or a Muslim. I included you there because of your support for make poverty history (which I also support). I think I somehow mixed what should have been two separate points into one. Sorry about that. While I believe Oxfam started as a Christian charity, in becoming more 'mainstream' they have asked for a Christian perspective less. Speak, for example, asks that people give their time, money and prayers to the cause, while Oxfam just asks for time and money - though I'm sure they won't turn down prayers. But if they do count as Christian, then the majority is even larger.

A question for fellow athiests
Why on earth would you rather have the greek and egyptian gods? Have you studied them at all? The world would be destroyed, we'd have freaks running around the world blowing up everything, and we wouldn't be able to step foot in the ocean without an offering to poseidon! It would be completely useless. As for that starving guy in the picture: I put myself in his shoes. I asked myself: If I could get into Heaven for eternity by starving for 10 years, only gaining enough food to keep me alive (and barely), suffering agonizing pain every day and night, would it be worth it. Well, eternity = infinite. Take away 10 years of pain and it's still infinity! Heck, make it 50 years long, throw in some torture, even bite off my genitals, it would still be worth it! That's how amazing heaven is. As far as Christianity is concerned, our job is to offer you the chance ot get into heaven - if you turn down the opportunity, it's not our fault. To those who never get offered the chance, it's unknown. Some say they burn with the rest, others say they get into heaven, but to a lesser degree than Christians (kind of an inner circle and outer circle). I'm inclined to agree with the inner/outer circle idea. And for Trix/Merc/Bubsa/others, who say it's infair that those who are generally nice yet arn't Christians still don't get into heaven (and I'm sure they say it with full modesty) - I doubt very much you're as nice as you say you are. Have you ever lied? Have you ever cheated someone? Hurt someone's feelings? As far as God is concerned sin=sin=sin. Killing someone is just as bad as lying. Just because you were generally nice when compared to others doesn't mean you deserve anything extra. Merc and Bubsa are also very vocal about the Make Poverty History Campaign. Did you know that it was originally started by just 8 different charities? Lets look at the list: ActionAid Cafod - The Catholic Agency for Overseas Development - Christian Oxfam Tearfund - Christian PressureWorks ChristianAid - Surprisingly enough, they're Muslim.... Or Christian, I can never remember which Speak - Another Christian one YCare - A think is Christian - works throught the YMCA, so I believe so. We'll count that as a half. That's 4.5/8 charity's that make up Make Poverty History being Christian! The majority of the money going to campaigns like this come from Christians! Remember the Trade Justice Movement (the prelim to Make Poverty History)? Well, there the Christian majority is even larger? Well, it certainly seems to me that any charity movement both depends upon and stems from Christianity. Wait, Christians are being nice? But I thought Merc proved that God didn't care about poor people? Hmm, two different points, both of them can't be true! It seems that God and Christianity does care about poor people in this world!

London 2012 Olympics!
W00t! Wembly is literally a 10 minute train journey for me! Definately going to see the opening and closing ceremony's, and probably the 100m if I can get tickets. By that time, some of my friends could be competing (we'll be around 25), so I might go and see them. Plus, I'll be 25! The perfect age for an olympics, I think. This is gonna be so cool. See Chirac? That's what you get when you take the piss out of fish and chips! No olympics!

creation or evolution
Thanks for that, I always wondered. So that's what retroviruses are. I've heard them spouted at me so much in debate like this, yet no one has taken the time to actually tell me what the bloody hell they are. My main bit of debate (assuming that the whole retrovirus thing isn't fake) is "The chances of us randomly getting the same inserted viruses in the same DNA spots as monkeys, but no other organisms, are extremely low." Just to bring it to your attention, but the chances of the whole theory of evolution being true are exrememly low as well. The big bang didn't have any life in it, we all know this. So life had to come from somewhere. The humanist argument (not what it's properly called, but I use it to save time. It's big bang, evolution and all that jazz rolled into one) says that atoms randomly moved about and joined to produce different proteins, and these proteins eventually joined together to produce what we know as life. But those odds are exeptionally low. First, the odds that the proteins will be created are low enough, then that different proteins are formed, then that the proteins then form life. In fact, it's about 0.1 x 10^256 (where '^' means 'to the power of', or '10x10x10, 256 times). Those are very small odds. To put this in perspective: The odds that Micheal Jackson would have been pronounced 'guilty' (imagine this was a few weeks ago), was 0.1x5, or a 50/50 chance. The odds that the G8 will actually do what the world wants, is around 0.1x10, or 1 in 10. The odds of me going to Oxford or Cambridge university next year, when I haven't applied, is 0.1x10^4, or one in 10 thousand. Seriously, I looked this up, I have a very small chance of getting in through clearing. The odds where all scientists and staticians agree are so low that they might as well be impossible is 0.1x10^15. The odds that evolution is true is 0.1x10^256. I think it's clear that it's so low as to be useless. The only way that evolution (well, not evolution, that bit is fine. It's the transicion from elements to life that is wrong) could possibly be true is if the universe were trillions of times older, and trillions of times bigger. There simply is not enough space or time for this to have happened, and certainly not to the degree that life has evolved on this planet. How (or if) the universe went from elements to life, is yet to be explained. While just saying 'the big bang', and 'evolution' may be enough for a 14 year old physics class, it ain't good enough for me.

Make Poverty History
What about Chris Martin from Coldplay? They showed him in the African countries doing his part. I know what you mean and I do feel that some of those people are only doing this for popularity reasons. But can you argue against the awareness they are creating? It's possible that all those kids who want to be cool are then watching this and maybe realizing what's going on in other parts of the world. Sure, so and so celebrity might not give a rat's wagon about Africa, but if 10,000(example) people watch Live 8 just for him/her and get bombarded enough with the message that's trying to be sent then hopefully atleast 1% will go out and do something and that's better then nothing. What bothers me the most is that the African musicmakers didn't even got the permission to preform in London, Berlin etc. It is for africa, but the only place African artists can preform is in St Johannesburg... That's very hypocrite i think Yeah..I will agree with that one. I hadn't heard that information. I did see some group of what I thought were African females performing on tv like Mahatella? Or something foreign similar that would be foreign to me. They built a stage last minute in the Eden Project, Cornwall for African musicians. They were on the BBC alot.

LMAO Ronald reagan is the greatest american ever!
I made my point about the stock market crash because it hadn't been mentioned yet. Any 'government interferance' was not FDR's fault, as he didn't get into office til 1932, as mentioned above. As I believe this whole argument was about his 'stupid laws', I think we can finish this now. And would someone please tell me what the heck Regan did to deserve this award?????

creation or evolution
You mean carbon, hyrdogen, ogygen, nitrogen etc? Well, yeah, there's a parallel there. anyway... *yawn*. You know, 2 days ago I'd be well up for this, but right now, I just can't be bothered. I suppose I'd better say something, justy to keep my side up. Plus, I think it's kind of expected of me by now. I apologise to GreatSilverWyrm, as I'm gonna have to go a little off topic in order to explain some of my points. Frankly, evolution and creationism are two ways of looking at the same thing. Creationism is what God did, evolution is the method he used. Everyone knows the story of Genesis 1, the 7 day creation. Fewer know the story of Genesis 2. There is a difference between them. 1 Says that animals were made before man, while 2 says that animals were made after man, in order for them to be their companions. Most Biblical scolars worth their salt consider both to be 'oral' tales, told by word of mouth for generations before they were written down. Most say that Genesis 1 is regemented, and in the style of priests. Genesis two is more descriptive, and more 'common'. Two different ways of looking at the same story. So, from this many people say that the Bible conflict, and therefore cannot be true. Uhuh. The main point of the stories are consistent: God created the world. A literal 7-day creation may not have happened, but God still created it. Consider it like an artist painting an picture. He knows in his head what he want to do, the colour, the overall picture, etc. But from there he's free. He can use pastels, poster paints, oils, chalk, whatever. It's the same with God. He knew what he was doing. He knew what he wanted the world to look like. He could have just made it appear exactly at the year 6000 BC or whatever, and started from there. But what's the fun in that? The fact that he chose to use evolution or whatever is frankly, of no importance what-so-ever. That said, I do have some problems with the Big Bang and evoltion. The universe started with just this dense matter of everything, and expanded from there, and thus time began. I say that time did not begin there, but our ability to percieve time did. Time is a constant, our perception is based on movement. That's why faster than light travel is impossible, as the closer you get to the speed of light, the slower time gets, so you don't actually go anywhere. So, why did time start with the explosion? And if time didn't start with the explosion, when the ball of matter must have existed before hand. So what put it there? And why did it choose that exact moment to explode? How did it explode? The best reason I've heard so far was that there was another type of matter, not the regular matter or anti-matter that we know of. This matter, instead of having gravity like normall matter, instead replelled normall matter, thus forcing the matter apart and starting the explosion. Luckily for the physicists trying to find evidence, this 'matter' decayed soon after, leaving nothing but background radiation. Gee, what a coincidence. As for evolution, my main concern is, when is a species a species? How do you define a difference between two animals? As for those bird in the Gallepedos, how does slightly different beaks define a species? If they were different colours, would they be different species? So am I the same species as a human with different skin colour. No, I'm not racist, I'm just using this an example. There's a disparity there, and it can undermine the entire theory if someone smarter than me uses it. Anyway, my point: arguing about this thing is pointless. All your doing is describing the same thing in different ways, it's useless.

Remember: Random events are there to stop people form autoing. If you want a random event, pretend that you're autoing. Go to a area with monsters that barely hit you, keep killing them. Don't pick up their drops, don't eat, and eventually the game will assume it's being auto'd and will chuck an event at you.
