  1. Where, exactly, is everyone getting this so called 'far-too-easy' exp from Pest Control? Because every single time I've played, it's full of 23 levels 60 or less, me (lv 90) and one level 100+. Guess what? We lose. no matter what world (and I have tried every members world) it is the same situation. So how exactly do people get this great exp? Because Slayer is so much faster at this rate...
  2. I predict that every skill will have at least 1 200mil person by next year. The question is whether one person will have more than 2 skills 'maxed' by next year.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I highly doubt multi-logging is legal...
  4. Best tip is to get around 6-8 of each type, and around 20 stews. Start of with one of one spice (i.e. one yellow). Check if its good. If not, add 2. once you know it's good, do the same with another spice, and make a note of the amount. Eventually you'll get the right amount of all of them and can make dave's proper stew.
  5. I had dreams where RS is involved, i.e. mentioned in passing. Or I started playing RS and got called away by mates to do something more interesting. Nothing involving me in game though.
  6. As this is an old topic, it's great to look back and see all the people complaining about crowds. I just go with my standard update forumla: If it's a quest, do it tomorrow. If it's a new mini game, do it next week. If it's a new skill, do it next month, using tears of guthix as a quick first level boost (after a month Juna normally lets you put it on the new skill). As a result of that I have seen a grand total of 3 people hunting in the same area as me, and none of them were hunting my things. More on topic, I got to 40, now I'm planning on only training it when I need to relax (great skill by the way) or can't think of anything else to do. Or if it's my lowest stat and Juna's been used for the week
  7. I have no idea what you're talking about... wilderness is ruined, ha! The wilderness is a place where players prey on other players. 'Normal' players are tempted in there by the promise of riches or better xp and promptly killed by Pkers, that is the way it is supposed to work. PKers kill skillers. Now, as a skiller in general (or at least, anything but a PKer) this annoys me greatly when I go to green dragons. Everytime I go, I wish I hadn't made that promise to myself that I wouldn't pay for raw materials if I could help it. But that is the way the wildy works. To those complaining that they can't kill other PKers - well you're technically not supposed to! According to the Knowledge base (or at least the impression given off by it) you're supposed to be evil mercenary types preying on the innocents weaker than you. And this is why, despite being a skiller, despite getting PK'd on average once every 8 trips to whatever I need to level at the time (roughly 3 failed attempts for every sucessful kill), despite the fact that dieing absolutely infuriates me, I will always support the wilderness and refuse to believe that it is broken. Why? Because I get killed by PKers, and that is the way it is supposed to me. Mayjest
  8. While macroing rarely affects me (I do not macro, and I get all my raw materials myself) it is clearly something detrimental to the game as a whole. So we need to get rid of it. Clearly, banning macros as we see them (and according to Jagex they're clearing 100s of these bots a day) isn't working. Which means we need to remove the incentive for these people to do it. We need to make autoing a non-profit exercise. Unfortunately, how you would do that, I have no idea. Perhaps someone with more business and macro-ing sense could? But I have thought of a way of getting rid of a whole lot of these characters. How many of those just in it for the money will care about quests? Not many at all. So, if Jagex has a database of all players, just search for those with little or no quest points, but high level supply skills (to the exclusivity of others). I.e., if all they've done is woodcut and mine, they will be found and banned. Well, it sounds simple, but it's probably not in practise. *EDIT* Of course, this will be included with the random days before banning, so people cannot work out what got them detected.
  9. I shall be honest and say that I few PKing with distain. I do not consider it a 'decent' way to make money. I do not believe that anyone should profit from anothers death. But if that is what floats your boat, and Runescape offers it, then I will allow it, and indeed, even actively support it. I'll just never go into the wilderness if I can avoid it. I also agree that these new, untradable items are quite unfair upon the PKer. In the Pker's viewpoint, it is almost as if the person they killed isn't allowing them their items purely out of spite. Especially if both players (including the one who died) are PKers. The PKer has gone to sometimes great lengths, taken considerable risks to get that successful kill, and rightly, they should be rewarded. I support the idea that these items should be tradeable, but useless or unable to wield without the correct requirements, similar to most of the Dragon weapons. The Fire cape is easy to set the requirement - you must have survived the fight pits. You can buy the cape, have it sitting in your bank, but you can't show it off without killing the toughest monster in the game. Skill capes - again, you can buy them from players or the skill master if you must, but they'll be useless without that 99. The fighter plate is slightly more difficult. Perhaps set it to levels within BA? Level 4 attacker and 2 defender? Having not played the game, I am unsure if this is plausable, but could it work? It is certainly a better suggestion than allowing anyone to wield them just because they PKed/bought them. Owning is one thing, you could pay through the nose and have it in your bank if you must, showing how much money you have (in a similar way to the unwieldable rares, eggs, crackers, etc), but gaining the prestige of a 99 in a dishonest way? Showing off your skill at teamwork despite having never help another Scaper in your life? That should not be allowed. In short: Pkers should still be able to profit from their Pks, but it must be balanced with not allowing the 'prestige' of these items to be lessened. Mayjest
  10. Well, it depends if you have a fear of getting fit. joining the TA will give you pretty much 0 chance of getting called for deployment. You first have to go through basic, which is like 6 weeks minimun for the real army. And, as far as I'm aware, the TA is more of a weekend thing. Anyway, don't be nervous, unless you don't have a job, or work in a job that isn't exactly vital to the economy, because in that case they may 'offer' you a job in the real army. Then get nervous, because that's active duty.
  11. The unique thing about Americans, is that unless you are native, in which case you'd probably be quite proud of that and stated it for all to hear, you are from somewhere else. Every (recent) American National is an immrigrant or decended from one/two/many. Which is why I find the right-wing anti Immigration polices hysterical. "Get rid of all immigrants!" Okay! 98% of American population deported!
  12. Hmmm. Vast majority English, smidgen of Scottish from one Grandmother (well, her father technically), and an incredibly small amount of Irish from my maternal side (but like 3 generations). But within the English, one half is South, the other is North (Norfolk... Norwich in particular). As any Englishman knows, that's not the greatest thing in the world. Norfolk: While it may be legal in all of England to marry your cousin, it's only socially acceptable in Royalty... and Norfolk.
  13. Before you automatically lock me, this isn't in the quest guide! You might see a few threads of this vein from me, as I've completely fogotton minor things in this game! Roughly August 2005 I was doing the Watchtower quest when I died in the cave with the Shaman to a Blue Dragon (no shield, or some other fool reason, I can't quite remember). A few months after, I cannot remember, I was forced, by circumstances beyond my control, to stop playing. Now, I was carrying pretty much every item you gain during that quest (crystals and such) when I died. How do I recover them? Do I have to go through the whole thing again? Are there just a couple of NPCs I can speak to to get them back? Thank you in advance, and be prepared for more "I could have sworn this existed, how do you get it back" questions in the future! Mayjest
  14. hah! 1 a week if I'm lucky.
  15. Ah, the joys of being 20. Nobody can stop you. It's weird though, if I were to admit that ingame, I have no doubt that I'd be insulted in several different ways. "Nolifer", "Geek" and the invevitable "Noob" spring to mind. At least now I can spring it back in their faces!
  16. Yep, 500gp and I have it back. No keys on it either.
  17. Before you ask, yes I did a search and found nothing. Anyway, I have recently returned from a prolonged absense, and have no idea where my Keyring is. I have completed one small favour, and I know I have used it in the past. What I don't know is where it is now. I assume I died while holding it before I retired for a while. Anyway: how do you get it back, and if you can, does it come with the keys still attached? Thank you, Mayjest.
  18. It's all about Hans.
  19. Is there a way of creating a thread that only mods can read, but anyone can post to and see it exists? Then maybe we can make a note of the illegal sites we see advertised, and once a week a mod reports them to Jagex, so Jagex can shut them down? May be a tad difficult, as if we can't read it, we can't see what's already posted. I just don't want us to get accused of advertising a giant list of illegal sites.
  20. Has been away for 18 months, normally uses FireFox with AdBlock so never sees the Ads, and couldn't find a sticky or anything. I don't consider it good forum ettiquette to raise a dead topic.
  21. Have yet to play it, but I'm curious about what special benefits the items will have. They probably have something, right?
  22. Quite often in the past few days I have noticed that the google text ads featured on this forum have a depressing tendancy to advertise sites that sell RS GP for real world. These sites are of course against the game rules, so why are they allowed to be featured here? I know you have no control over google, but do you have to allow them to feature this?
  23. Just had another thought. Possibly the manner in which you gained your 99 is also important. If you bought all the equipment necessary, then that is almost cheating compared to someone who mined/cut/farmed all the stuff they needed. I would certainly have more respect for someone with 99 cooking if it was accompanied by a very high fishing level, because they'd fished everything they cooked.
  24. For me, it depends. Should someone with 99 fletching be respected more than someone without it (like me). Almost certainly. Given the choice between a person with 99 cooking and 99 prayer, or 99 slayer, who would I repsect more? The one with prayer or slayer. Any 99 is deserving of respect, but some 99s get and deserve more than others.
  25. Oh very good. Especially liking the added teleport for the Games Necklace. Very useful. The game looks interesting, especially to see what the rewards will be. Pity I'm at work til 4.
