Why does everyone act like it is useless? Look at ranger boots. They provide no defence or prayer bonus, and yet they are millions and millions more than their alternative (snakeskin). People are willing to pay a good deal of money for something that is the best item in it's class, which in this case, is now the Amulet of Ranging.

It's not weird at all if you go play poker at a friend's all night, so why should Runescape be? 2) When does this start to become a problem? When you do it so often that it has a long-term effect on your other activities (getting fired, dropping out, getting dumped, etc) 3) What's the worst example of this you yourself have done? I'm not a very serious gamer. I guess the worst would be Runescaping from 8 am to 12 am one day last summer when my parents were out.

Letting the merchanting clans go is far better than the alternative. Think of what they would have to do to prevent more merchanting... the 4-hour limit would be increased, the caps would be tighter, the buying limit would be decreased, and it would be even more of a pain to make trades.

This whole craze for edible rares on the RSOF is making me sick. A bunch of people bought them and now claim that they are like 50m a piece, when nobody even cares to buy them for that much. And with the rest of the expensive item market dropping, the excess cash will go into partyhats. I don't see them slowing anytime soon.

Sadly, it's the whole "boy who cried wolf" thing. So many people pose as females on the internet for various reasons that when a person actually meets one, they can be doubtful. I admit that women use the internet also, but even I am sometimes doubtful when I see females on runescape -- not because they don't exist, but because so many are fake.

Actually, more people will be using magic because it's cheaper than melee to pk with, and magic is even more powerful without as many expensive melee weapons in pvp. I don't see nature runes doing anything significant.

Your post did not make logical sense. Defence does not affect max hit, and neither does the Hitpoints stat like you argued. You then go into "what-ifs" which we really don't like to bring into the general discussion boards.

I'm trying to stay away from saying you make absolutely no sense. Max hit is a set number, regardless of how many hitpoints you have. If the calculated hit is above your current HP, it simply hits for the remaining hitpoints. Say you have 10 hitpoints left and your opponent attacks you. If the opponent's max is, say, 50, then every calculation from 10-50 will show a splat for 10 damage. Hitpoints has no effect whatsoever on max hits, only on the percentage of damage the opponent can attack for (according to your reasoning)
