  1. Superglass Make -- lots of Crafting XP too.
  2. qeltar replied to Roadway77's topic in Rants
Brutal green dragons drop rune thrownaxes regularly.
  3. I've tested Barrows using pretty much every method and type of gear around. Not void, mind you, but everything else, including Veracs, which is probably better than void for high defence creatures. Zephy is right: meleeing is not the way to go at the Barrows. You need magic or a salamander. Even with full Veracs and extreme potions, magic is still faster.

Not 100% sure but I don't think they do.
  5. If you haven't even made an effort to find another spawn or another world that is empty, then yes, you're a jerk. It's like any other community: when people behave considerately it encourages others to do the same. When people behave like selfish morons, that encourages others to do the same. It doesn't apply in an MMORPG filled with selfish jerks. I like to strive for better. The argument is very simple. It's called the Golden Rule. Look it up sometime. This of course is a BS argument, because crashers don't hang around for half an hour, and have no idea how long the other person has been there. For all you know, the guy you are crashing might have spent 5 minutes finding a free spot to avoid crashing someone else. Again, this is BS, unless you want to tell me that crashers sit there for half an hour before crashing. Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD do something. That's the difference between decent people and asswipes. You decide which you want to be.
  6. Okay, well, that's a different issue. Maybe that individual could use appropriate words. ;) Not all hunting is done without any interaction at all. I've been doing a ton of it lately for a guide I'm working on and I see people all the time. No, not as much as in some skills, but more than in others. When considering cooperation versus competition, you're forgetting Woodcutting and Mining and Thieving, for starters. Hunter is actually not very bad in terms of cooperation, except for red chinchompas (the most overrated part of the skill). Again, I can understand why people might not like it, but it's actually a very nicely designed skill, and now quite useful (it wasn't very good before Summoning).
  7. Good luck with drops. Yes. You may find this useful.
  8. Some day, companies will learn that they lose a lot more by pursuing idiotic libel actions than they do by being criticized by a blogger.
  9. Weebler makes a good point -- being polite usually does help. The attempts to justify crashing in this thread are really weak. If you want to be a selfish jerk, that's your choice, but don't pretend you are being anything else.
  10. Disappointing? Sure. Useless? No. I have no problem with someone saying they don't like a skill, but claiming it is useless when it isn't is just ignorant. I mean, I hate Runecrafting but I sure wouldn't say it was useless. And I don't see how Hunter is any more isolated than many other skills. Most non-combat skills are trained only in specific areas, so why does that bother you for Hunter more than say, Runecrafting, Fishing or Agility.
  11. trembake, your last reply is a perfect illustration of what I said before: you are complaining that Jagex should give you more updates, but you have NO idea how to even make good use of what you have. I could go through your post and pick it apart line by line, but I can't be bothered. I've encountered people like you many times before, in RS and in real life, and what it always comes down to is "don't confuse me with facts, I've made up my mind". I can make 1.5 million gp an hour with Hunter... while also getting 3 or 4 times the XP per hour I can get runecrafting. But hey, you want to consider the skill useless, be my guess. Can you make 250,000 gp per hour your first day in RS by Runecrafting? You can with Hunter. The pack yak not only saves and makes tons of money, it enables whole new modes of gameplay that the uncurious never consider. You've probably never even fully explored its use. You also likely have no idea what an iron titan can do to waterfiends in the Chaos Tunnels, or how much money you can make just having a magpie follow you around, or how much other familiars can do for you. You're ignorant. That can be cured, but only if you want to cure it. Doesn't sound like you do, but that's YOUR problem, not anything that's wrong with Jagex or the game.
  12. Including all of the steps required -- but assuming you start with regular prayer pots -- you can only make around 220 of these per hour. (Grinding 13 sets of bones takes three minutes, so 500 per hour is not possible.) It's very slow for the level, compared to other extreme potions. If you do high level boss hunting they are useful, otherwise...
  13. Not as good considering active time, no. But you can do it continuously so it's much better in elapsed time. Back on topic, though, it's funny seeing all these people who clearly know NOTHING about software development make grand pronouncements about what they think Jagex should be able to do in a few hours.
  14. There's an extensive mithril dragons guide on my site, but it's in the members area. You can sign up for a full month for a penny and then cancel if you wish, if you have a CC or Paypal account. In lieu of that, a brief summary. First, unlock the fairy ring in the Ancient Cavern. Use a ring of slaying to Rellekka, jot west to the fairy ring and go to Zanaris; head to the bank. Equip the following, or substitutes as relevant: god mitre (or helm of Neitiznot); Ardougne cloak 3; amulet of fury; leaf-bladed sword; Karil's top; DFS or anti-dragon shield; Karil's bottom; Barrows gloves; dragon boots; Berserker ring or whatever you like best. Inventory: dramen or lunar staff, ring of slaying, stack of house teleports, 4-dose antifire, 4-dose super set, 4 4-dose prayer pots. Summon a tortoise and fill it with decent food like monkfish. Put more monks in your inventory, and a few cheap food like salmon. Set quick prayers to Protection from Melee and Piety. Go to the ring in Zanaris and dial in BJQ. While standing in the ring, take 1 dose of each pot. Put on protection from magic and run to the mith dragon stairs. Snap on quick prayers and kill the dragon. Between kills pick up drops and top up health and prayer. When you are out of supplies or your inventory is full (use the tortoise of course!) hit your teletab, recharge prayer at your house and repeat (but you should be able to do 6 in one trip.)
  15. Need to know your stats, including Herblore.
  16. Hunter is a far better skill than Runecrafting. You can make lots of money right from the start; there is a lot more variety and ways to train the skill and make money, and at high levels you can make more than anything you can get from Runecrafting -- IF you know what you are doing.
  17. Overall, Hunter is the best money-making skill in RuneScape.
  18. It's always amusing how the people who whine the most about wanting new content are incapable of understanding and using the content they already have. Those are three of the best skills in the game. Summoning is by far the most versatile, Hunter and Farming are superb money skills. Learn how to use the gear shifter and the steering wheel before you bug the car company for more bells and whistles. And if all you want is a new dungeon with "uber st00f" drops released every month, you're playing the wrong game.
  19. I disagree. I win every kill in the CT, so those beat bronze drags easily. You don't win every kill unless you are lucky enough to get there when it is quiet. There's too much luck for even a very high level player to be guaranteed to get every kill. It's a matter of personal choice. I hate fighting with people over kills, so I avoid greens.
  20. Greens are only good if you can go at a very quiet time. Otherwise you waste all your time fighting over kills. At very high levels (maxed combat or close) bronze dragons are the fastest, except maybe using a cannon somewhere.
  21. This thread reminds me of people who focus on one sliver of their country's national budget and complain about how their "tax dollars are being wasted", ignoring all the places they *do* want their tax dollars being spent. And then other people complain similarly, except they have a completely different set of expenditures they consider to be a "waste".
  22. Some British Pagan thingy related to Esther or some pagan God/Goddess along those lines....... parents told me ages ago and I've forgotten...... Christianity Hijacked it :) Maybe it's the other way around s0n. It isn't. The holiday itself is adapted from the Jewish Passover, and most of the non-religious observances are taken from pagan traditions.
  23. No, their charm drop rate is awful. No idea why Jagex did that. And I also call foul on claims of 200+ crimsons/hour. 150/hour is a more reasonable figure.
  24. The game is identical for everyone, but some players are considerate, and others are selfish jerks. So I think I'll continue hating those players and not the game, thanks.
  25. Slayer is not a good way to get charms. It's a good way to get Slayer XP and some charms as a side benefit. If you want charms, kill waterfiends or other monsters that drop lots of crimsons.
