One of the major arguements against PC gaming is the price. However, I wonder if it would be possible (with todays technology) to build a computer capable of playing most of todays games at a decent frame rate. So instead of trying to build a PC as the most powerful thing, lets try and build the cheapest. :) Build by me and ultimania92: CPU- AMD Athalon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6ghz $60 GPU- EVGA 8600GT 256MB $40 RAM- Corsair 4GB (2x 2GB) DDR2 800 $45 HD- Seagate 400GB 7200RPM $50 CD/DVD- LITE-ON 16x DVD 48x CD $18 Mobo- BIOSTAR nForce 520D $49.99 CASE- Linkworld /w 400W PSU $36.99 OS- Microsoft XP OEM $90 Total Price: $390 This would place the computer right around the cost of a 360, and you can count out $90 if you already own XP. :) Likewise I am guessing it could play about any game out today at at least medium settings. Anyways, what do you guy's think you could come up with? I just wanted to try and see if we could prove those wrong who say console gaming is cheaper. :thumbup:

Double post, but whatever. I'm really loving my new guild, . They are the top guild (in terms of guild level) on the server, and I've had a ton of fun the past couple of days with them. Non stop T3 full group premades, just rolling every scenario we enter. the XP is incredible, averaging 16k-21k per scenario which may last for around 10-15 minutes. Getting a ton of renown as well, and getting to know the guild. Anyways, just happy that I found a good guild. Got tired of guild hopping on AoC and it seems like I found a great guild for WAR. Warrior priest is currently level 24 getting real close to 25.

FIN So, it's not as finished as I would like it to be, but I've spent enough time on it that I've pretty much added all I wanted too. I'm missing the bottom of the DS, the L/R cut out text and the power lights. Everything else should be about right, or at least I hope. Might do some other colors of it later and make a mock up advertisement with them. Kind of rushed this in the end though because I want to work on another , more creative, project. Not sure if I'm doing it yet, but if I do I plan to include terragen work (landscapes) and 3D studio max. Comment away :)

The earth is way too flat, the flare is really cliche (and way too bright) and the stars are boring. For the planet distort > spherize is your friend. If you are interested in doing space art than I suggest checking out http://alyn.deviantart.com . Great artist and he has some good resources tucked away there.

Kind of sad that it is as blurry as it is, honestly you could deal with some real definition here. It has some great potential but it looks more like a quick sketch than a finished product to me. I also think I like the 2nd to last version better, zoomed out that is.

I just found the idea of him getting the money from his parents sad. The actual setup, whatever. But to have your parents pay this much for something like that seems extreme. Maybe he got a big inheritance, I don't know. I don't know the entire story either. Also running 30 characters at once isn't as complex as I said. Setting it up is, after that you're really controling one guy with 29 other clones of himself.

[cabbage]ty metaphors in the post aside, The reason why mainstream music (and media, for that matter) is "mainstream" is because it is easy to digest. It's easy to understand, and to get. Mainstream sitcoms are focuses around jokes that a large portion of the population will get, as mainstream music focuses around catchy melodies and "radio hits". That isn't to say that mainstream is bad just as it doesn't go to say that something underground is good. "Underground" music may have just not been recognized yet, but they may also focus on more complex tunes, or maybe won't have a clear cut melody. Of course you get a ton of [cabbage]ty underground music. I'd rather listen to what is on the radio any day of the week than listen to some of the basement "Kvlt" metal people try and produce. Of course when underground music gets it right, when they aren't censored by mainstream media and have total creative freedom they can produce some incredible things. And like I said it's not like all mainstream music is bad. Just because it's easy to digest doesn't make it bad, because there can still be a lot under that. And really I think the same holds true for all mediums.

He's 30% HP nerfed, I wonder if his adds are nerfed as well... It is a hard fight still but the 30% HP nerf is just lame. Makes him so much easier.
