Tome of Knowledge: Shows all sorts of quest info, lore info, ect. PvP (RvR): I read this up somewhere else as well, but apparently my thoughts of WAR being dominated by 'scenerioes' was false. Apparently the fight will actually be going on throughout all kind of zones, and an actual line will be pushed back and forth. (like in the image). The game doesn't look as bad as I thought as well, and I hear that the latest screenshots don't have all the features in the final game. Sorry for posting some WAR stuff in here, but it seems like a lot of people are starting to get fed up with the game. Figure I'd post about the alternative (release date: September)

I'd hope not. If there is one game I'm never going back to it's WoW, I don't want to get caught up in raiding again.

Between the Buried and Me- Ants of the Sky Caught it near the beginning on the radio (XMXL) on the ride into work today and I remembered the recommendation for them. Good stuff. :thumbup:

Meh, I don't know. I hear WAR is being released september and, well, I may end up giving it a shot -- especially if the guys I hang with in AoC leave. I'm still hanging around for the ride but I don't know, its just kind of been enough for me the past few days. Having to restart the game twice just to finish 4 villas because of all the memory leaks (due to loading screens) is too much. And after reading up a bit more about WAR my current fears about the game were somewhat diminished (much of the PvP is based off of World PvP and the graphics don't look that bad). We'll see what happens in the long run, but I'm starting to think Funcom bit off more then they can chew for an MMO. I will say this though, and that I'm tired of just defending a game. It just doesn't really work out. I think the big thing is that I was playing the pre-release demo of Crysis just to kind of test out my rig. Ended up getting 25fps on all Highs (minus shadows @ med) and 8x AA 1680x1050 resolution and it never dipped bellow 20 even in heavy firefights. Meh.

Not sure why someone would use 98SE anyways considering how outdated it is. Any hacker with a bit of time could probably pretty easily find a flaw in it and microsoft wouldn't give two [cabbage]s because they don't support it anymore.

I want to say it's a very niche game, but there isn't anyway I can argue this without sounding like a drooling fanboy. While a few of his points are incorrect (female and male DPS is the same now and they've been working on their other MMO for a while now) I'm not going to try and address the other issues. I'll see what happens in the future here.

I'm pretty sure RuneScape doesn't have the best one, I may have gone a little bit off with the 'out there', but I'm still only comparing to why you would say AoC has a better crafting system then RuneScape, unless I'm entirely misinformed of what a crafting system is suppose to be. I still do not get why you made such a comparison. Miles ahead? Not really. Why do you say it's miles ahead? What makes it miles ahead, and is so unique, or isn't apparent in RuneScape? Ever hear of an exaggeration?

skatedog you're very naive if you think that runescape has one of the most "in depth" crafting systems ever. Have you played any other MMOs other then runescape and AoC?

Age of Conan's crafting system is decent right now, about on the level of WoW's currently. They plan on adding better stuff to craft (epics and such) later on. Still miles ahead of runescape however.

Do you just want a deeper crafting system or what? There are games that have a lot to do, but honestly Runescape was so bland that pretty much every skill felt the same. You could always give Everquest II a try. It's a lot like WoW except that, in all honesty, its a bit deeper for gameplay. I'm not sure how many play it currently but I know there are at least two pretty large servers up still (PvP and a PvE). The main thing is that EQ2 has much more involved crafting than most other MMORPGs currently and it sounds like you're into that? Vanguard: Saga of Heroes could be another decent choice as well. It bombed pretty hardcore at the start due to Sigil just releasing it early, but Sony took it under their wing and its a solid game now (I haven't played this one yet personally). From what I understand it, too, has a deep crafting system. I always want to do a shout out to Anarchy Online in these threads though. While argueably the crafting isn't as in depth as EQ2 or Vanguard you can play a large portion of the game for free, much like runescape. Also while it still uses a very rough class based system whenever you gain a level you are free to put the points into numerous, numerous skills which will define what your character is like. The game also is a step away from the drab fantasy archetype most MMOs fall under, and with a graphical update coming soonish its a good time to be playing it. The game has 7 years worth of content, after all. That's all I can really think of that may pertain to what you're interested in.

You'll find most people here still enjoy the warcrack. (World of Warcraft). I, personally, am playing Age of Conan currently. As far as you looking for a new MMO what are you want from one? PvP, PvE or what?

Meh I thought the GH guitars didn't work in Rock band, there was so much drama between the two I had no clue. I must be the only person who does not mind the Rock band guitar. Yeah, it doesn't click so you have to pay a bit more attention. Still it took me like 15 minutes to get used to it coming from Guitar Hero.
