DFS is the best melee shield hands down. Spirit shields are best for range and mage. I'm sure it can be argued whether or not spirits own dfs in melee but I'm just going to leave...my opinion...here. ;) Anyways, spirits will have to be out of the question because honestly, I'm assuming the topic owner doesn't have the money or has thought it to be not viable economically.

The above poster basically describe what you should do in the situation. Anyways, the translation to "cannon decay" is... "Don't you dare autoAFK while I get the Range exp for you or I will threaten to leave you and you will be forced to get another copy of me from that dwarf that's sooo far away between falador and barbarian village!" Actually, I think they coded it that way so that players don't log out after leaving their cannons on the floor. Otherwise, Runescape would be littered with cannons everywhere!

If your strictly training, Rune defender. If your fighting dragons, bosses, or other players, DFS. Dragon square is only okay if you want to range tank. It provides less defense than a DFS but it's lighter and doesn't penalize you as much as a DFS can. It's also quite a bargain for a crossbow ranger.

This quest has dwarves. Dwarves sell pickaxes. Where are the Dragon pickaxes? Oh... ;)

Alot of people have already explained their experiences in this thread so I won't. However, I have come to state my vote on the Ring of Wealth. My vote is: The ring of wealth is NOT A LIE!

If I were you, I would go to youtube and type in "Sony Vegas Guide" in the search function. People are always making guides for everything in life.

Every week, you should do penguins and circus. Use W60_Penguins or Penguins_W60 for the cc. Refer to the RSOF thread for penguin locations that can be found in the Distractions and Diversions thread. For the Circus, start from level 99 agility routine and work your way down. If you fail a technique, repeat it. You're doing it for the uber exp not for points. After that, if you have time, go to Ape Atoll and grind your life out. LOL. Remember to bring a knife to eat those pineapples (unless you have an Enhanced Excalibur).

The biggest question is whether or not you ENJOY killing Tzharrs. I love range but it is one of the most boring skills to train. I used to enjoy cannoning everything but I made up the last few levels using Soul Wars. If you love the obby drops and the *crunch* sound from hitting a Tzharr, do that. If you like *woosh* sound from hitting Yaks, do that. You will find training to go by quickly if you enjoy what you do.

It also helps if you use DBaxe specials in minigames. It wouldn't be smart to bring tons of restores potions in games like Pest Control or Soul Wars.

If you range, you're only going to get hit by bree and starlight. (Sometimes zilyana if you mess up). With that said, I've gotten 38 killcount max on trip. That's about 20 zilyana kills (because I go on busy worlds and usually kill 0-1 subboss before she starts respawning). I imagine the max should be about 45-50 kc since that's when all your terrorbird pouches start collapsing. Half of it involves whether or not you get sarabrew/superres/prayer/food drops to prolong your trip. Rune crossbow is the overpowered weapon for Rangers. Use that. From there, it's your choice if you want to go with armor piercing diamond bolts or inexpensive broad bolts. The bonuses on the xbow are just insane, with a range and def pure, I could take out any 130 with proper hugging techniques. This is all of course solos. In teams, she is too ridiculously easy. It's more painfully boring than bandos team as you could probably camp there for days. That's why I don't like teams unless it's corporeal beast. Believe me, you do NOT want to solo her with melee. Unless you want to waste money getting only 1 or 2 kills off her.

Armor and Prays don't work against the Corporal Beast. Wear lightweight gear and if you really are paranoid, leave a protection pray on (I did for my solo video LOL). You have plenty of defence anyways. The corporeal beast during the quest only shoots the Dumbfire splatter projectiles so it's really about waiting and then moving out of the way at the right time. You don't have to raise your levels but I will say that having a high hp level would make the quest easier.

Pineapple pizzas are cheaper. They are also the same speed as normal food because a bite of the first half has no cooldown before you take a bite of the second half. They are in the same league as Manta Rays. Sharks are lame, they should only be used for bunyip pouches.

When turkeys were "biggable" they could be glitched in the past by using lvl 0 tele -> freeze emote, -> turkey emote -> to click. You would then run around as a big giantic turkey fireball. They've fixed it though so you can only appear and disappear. I'm sure there's some mechanic that makes the ring of stone rocker move before changing back. But I won't be able to grab my hands on a ring until a week later as the prices are going down the drain on those.

I'm a fan of goldsmithing gloves and gold ores although it takes cash. You can try the SC way but remember you have to factor in the time it takes to play those games. In addition, an SC minigaming clan would be essential as well as high noncombats in order to rake in serious pointage for your tools. Anyways, summary, my vote is for gold ore goldsmith gloves.

Looking at your siggy, I'm assuming you have some high stats. I'm also assuming you have seers 3 completed. Enhanced Excalibur should stop you from even having to consider paying for Bunyip pouches.

Try my guide. It's a two part series with voice. I don't use GSes because they are heavy. I also find Zamorak Godswords to be the most useless weapon in the game. A proper constant moving technique won't get you hit and there's things like dancing that prevents you from having to use it on other large bosses. I use Enhanced Excalibur for health healing but if you can't use that, BGS and SGS works. I prefer no GS though. Part 1 deals with preparation and a run through of how to attack. Part 2 follows through with extra tips like subbosses and maintaining a long trip. I honestly just vidded one of my trips for fun and turned into a Voice commentary guide LOL!!! Hope it helps. You can kill anything with chicken and flower. Yes. But it's impossible to do Jad with Carrot because it's TWO handed and -100 Crush. Even with bonuses, piety, and pots, you can't even hurt a mouse without spending an hour or more on it.

I agree on the barbarian assault armor totally! Offtopic: I always wanted them to put in a bathroom. Think ogre spa type bathtubs, summoning pillar "showers", and the first runescape toilet for decoration purposes only!
