What's really fun is that I sit in the middle of about 10 Glenn Beck-loving, Fox-adoring super conservative people in my Government class. Hoh boy. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

We're really the only predators to, for sake of example and because they were the most hunted, a sperm whale, except maybe orcas. And even then orcas don't hunt them down all that much. And I'll agree, any other species that could come this far would be capable of doing the same...but would they? After all, we no longer have any need to hunt whales, and another species may have the ability to say "Y'know, this really isn't necessary anymore, besides being illegal. Maybe we should stop." But of course, you never know. And all of your analogies lean towards animals that have an active need to hunt down its prey (like the wasp or bears). The difference is that we don't need to hunt whales, it's not like beef or pork or anything.

I love Terminal. Damn near every FFA match I play there results in utmost victory. Also, I unlocked Marathon Pro and Lightweight Pro today.

Oh god its so fun to do. I love making a class with commando, lightweight, and marathon pro with a magnum tac knife. The funniest thing in the world, even though you die a lot. This is my only play style, except I use USP tac knife since I haven't unlocked magnum yet. I've regularly been at least 3rd in FFA matches now that I'm used to it and know when to use the throwing knife as well. There's really no point to me having a primary weapon. I tried using the riot shield to cover my [wagon] from behind, but that slowed down it seemed.

I haven't clicked it yet, but the thread so far makes me think it's "You have to burn the rope". Am I right? Edit: yea, I was. I love that game.

When you're as big as Das, you need a pit crew to change out parts due to wear and tear. More on topic, is the religious symbolism something you have to have an in-depth knowledge of the bible and whatnot to understand? As in, it would go over the head of someone who doesn't know it all that well? Or is it something that most everyone with a general knowledge can see?

It would be quite easy to cheat by using custom models. How? Turn sniper clothes bright green, change uncloak sound to a very loud sound easily heard from across the map, etc. Gigantic sniper camper van hats. I've seen it.

I'monna be a nuclear technician. US Navy, here I come! It's a growing field, growing pretty fast in the Navy, too, even with recent cutbacks on the other services. To get there, I've applied to some engineering schools with ROTC programs; get a degree and a commission in one package. Good deal. And once I'm out, nuclear power is expanding in the civilian world as well. So I'd be pretty much set.

My point is only referring to extinction in the context of animals dying naturally, without the intervention of humans: Now, animal abuse is an entirely different issue, but I'm talking about environmentalists who go out of their way to save a group of animals who would have died naturally. IE: The waters in Florida reached very cold temperatures lately [which isn't really something you can blame on us], so the manatees were in danger. Humans took them from their habitat and brought them to a warm area. The reason I posted my point in this thread is because it would be completely unnecessary to make a whole new thread about my point, when there is some relevance to animal extinction in this thread. The thread would have probably be locked and the mod would have pointed me in the direction of this one since they are so similar. I smell an exaggeration. PS: I'd also like to add that I don't think it is immoral or whatnot to help animals. I just simply don't understand what the hype is about. And of course there are the people out there who only care for the environment because of that "holier than thou" routine, which I should have brought up in my first post. PS2: If you want to save animals who have lost their homes due to humans taking their trees, that is completely reasonable. I was just getting at cases such as the manatees being cold though. But your phrasing made me read it as applying directly to this thread. Hence my kangaroo analogy. And I read you saying it wasn't 'specifically against whales' as you saying it still applied to them. After all, if we as a race destroy a species for sheerly frivolous reasons, then we are to blame, not the species. Yea, that's what I read it as, too, hence my post.

I would agree, except the extinction of whales is completely mad-made and entirely preventable. They wouldn't have died out naturally in this case.

I've been playing free-for-all until I can be assed to buy a new mic, and today I dominated. Horrible, horrible K/D ratio (sometimes even negative for the round) but I went at least 5 games getting 1st or 2nd. I've not even been using my primary weapon, just my USP .45 (which I just unlocked the tactical knife for), my throwing knife, and my melee.Wheeeeeee.

Aah, semantics. Such trouble over such a small thing as a name. I don't see what the big deal about any of it is, really; if a civil union has the exact same legal rights as marriage, one side could claim the other is trying to push for marriage out of spite, just to have the term, but then the other side could say the exact same, that they want only to preserve some word. The only really clear argument, it seems, is against the people that are against the concept of homosexuality in the first place.

If you can aim, use the Direct Hit. I really see no reason why you shouldn't unless you can't hit the target directly.

Just bought this today. Level 4, yay. Only done the first level of campaign.

I fully support whaling, but on a few conditions: All whalers should put themselves on equal ground with the beast. That is to say, the former wooden ships, lowering the smaller whaleboats and darting the lance by means of arm power, not no hydraulic harpoon guns. Where you have as much chance of surviving as the whale does. All this new technology and whatnot is taking away any sense of an honorable bout, like shooting a deer that they've tied up beforehand. But that'll never happen again, and the whales need some time to repopulate before we take them again, so I am against the modern whaling fleets. And we don't even need whale oil anymore anyways, though the meat issue is still valid.
