Yah Ikr? It's like the TSN comments where EVERY SINGLE game has people bashing the leafs on it. Jeez, don't have anything better to do??? And what's wrong with wanting to make the playoffs? For a rebuilding team like the leafs, that's as good a goal as any. What's wrong with feeling good about making the playoffs? I would kill to see some playoff action in Edm or Minny. I haven't watched my teams win in like 3 weeks btw <_< Last night's game, what a BRUTAL call on Hartikainen, what interference? Jokinen was right next to the puck. Thanks refs, once again got something against the Oilers.

While you live under her house, you technically should follow what she says. I would try and work out a compromise. I am not saying that you shouldn't play games or play on the computer, but show your mom that there is a vast database of information available on the internet which you can't always access in book form. Respect your mother's opinions until you have your own place. It will make life a whole lot easier. You are at that crucial point in life where you can make or break your future, being responsible and learning how to manage your money now will put you ahead of a lot of other's your age. Thanks, that makes some sense to me. It's just that often she is too stubborn to compromise with. I guess I can survive several more months until I can get a place of my own.

What do you do when your mother thinks anything besides studying is a waste of time? I enjoy watching hockey, video gaming, playing shinny, guitar, and listening to music. I have a part time job, yet all she cares about is that I don't spend as much time studying as I do other stuff. Currently in Grade 12, I have early admission into University, but still she is constantly upset at the sight of my on a computer or watching TV. When I read novels, it doesn't bother her. She is vehemently opposed to paying for any sort of gaming, music, etc. She thinks I cannot control myself if I pay... as if paying 5 dollars for xbox live will ruin my future entirely. What can I tell her? Btw, I'm 18, she say's she won't let me spend my OWN money on gaming or anything. I won't play the "I'm 18" card unless absolutely neccessary.

I used to think like Blyaunte, where +/- was a good way to judge whether or not a player was good. And let me just say this, it certainly plays a factor, but it's not the most important stat to look at. The problem with p/m is it depends on the other 5 or 4 players on the ice, and many times, a minus on one player was the direct result of a brain fart by another player. Say Kessel and his linemates jumps onto the ice, boom bad change, because Phaneuf and co. just suddenly decides to go off as well. And there goes Stamkos on a breakaway! He scores!!! Are you honestly gonna blame Kessel for that? Of course not, it's bearing is on the whole team. I have the misfourtune of being a fan of two pretty bad teams, Edm and Minny, their goal differential is minus who knows how many. But can you honestly say Taylor Hall, who's probably a minus 10 ish, is a mediocre player? I don't think so, no mediocre player can change games in the blink of an eye in his rookie year nonetheless! Same example on Minny, players like Brent Burns (some awful giveaways lately btw) and Havlat are both in the minuses, but does that mean they're mediocre? I don't think so. They're not in the top elite group (as of now, hopefully Burns can get there), but that doesn't put them in a mediocre group. Then you look at a roster like the Canucks (just for example), and you see players like Torres with a plus rating. That's the direct result of playing on a good team. Stats important for a goalscoring forward, first and foremost, goals and assists. Then their points per game rate, shots (shows how many chances they get), PPG, GWG, etc. +/- is certainly not a reasonable reason to lable Kessel as "mediocre".

Yah maybe they changed it, because someone said that was the reason it was useless.

I'll admit, I never thought the leafs would have 3 30 goal scorers. Kulemin's a great player, works hard and can score. And btw, that Habs game yesterday, I rofl'd, literally. :lol:

lol do slayer to 99 defence. piety extremes all that stuff if you don't have enough charms after that then do rock lobs. lol. Just do rock lobs, combine with waterfiends and black demons. Will lessen the cost by a bit and changes up the scenery to prevent boredom.

Damnit what is wrong with Minnesota... Outshoot an opponent like 10/82 games and can't even win those! And Oilers lose woohoo! Tough time to be a hockey fan right now... But lol, I feel sorry for leafs fans, Habs and Sens fail once again. It feels like whenever you win, the teams you're chasing wins too. And whenever you lose, they win some more! Same feeling I had with Minny a couple weeks ago when we were in the race. It's just so frustrating, you never seem to gain any ground.

OP you mention a very common problem. And it sucks because its just a bad cycle.

The world isn't black and white - there isn't one bully and one victim all the time. Watch the "bully's" interview - he says the big guy picked on him first. He said the big guy told him to "Get to class idiot". Which a very possible reason is after he started picking on him. Possible scenario: Little guy starts talking [cabbage] to him, starts messing around, and gets told to "get to class". "Get to class idiot" vs getting punched in the face, slapped on the head, told to "lose some weight fatty". I'd say they're quite different.

I have no idea why there isn't a topic discussing this, as I feel it's a pretty big issue. Here's the story: A 15 year old kid, Casey Heynes, is a bully victim at school almost every day. One day he snaps, and flips some little kid over and slams him to the ground (concrete, mind you). This video then went viral... Here's the video of the incident. Then basically he got interviewed, as did the bully, Richard Hale. Link to Casey's interview. Personally, I am very proud of Casey. He stood up for himself, and did the right thing to fight back. There are so many "Anti-bullying" campaigns I see all over the place, but what's the result? Kids still get bullied. Now that Casey did what he did, I bet you that people won't take him lightly anymore. In the interview, he says the reason he gets picked on all the time is because he doesn't retaliate. That's the problem. If a bully starts punching you, why can't you fight back without being punished? Another problem with this whole Antibullying thing is they tell the kids to talk to teachers, parents, etc. But the truth is, they're AFRAID to talk to the teachers, because most of the times, the teachers don't do a whole lot, maybe call the parents once, and give them some lines to write, and afterwards, the victim will get bullied more for being a "snitch", "[kitty]", etc. As for the kid Richard, I believe he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Casey just so happened to snap on him instead of the other people. Tough luck for him, he deserved it if you ask me. Didn't sound really sincere in his "apology". So what do the rest of you think? PS. sorry if this has already been made and I somehow missed it.
