  1. This happens to me when I'm behind a proxy - it seems to be some sort of hotlink protection from the image host.
  2. The Crew Wants You! Applications are now closed. Thanks to everybody who applied - it was fantastic to see energetic users wanting to give back to Tip.It! :) This thread will be locked as it will only encourage spam at this point, but here is a brief list of Questions we thought you would like answered: Who read my application? Crew and Administrators How long until I find out if I was accepted or declined? You should hear back from us within one week from this post. If you don't get anything after a week, please PM me. Will there be a list of those declined? This information is confidential and will be kept between us and the applicant. If the applicant wishes to tell people they were declined, that is up to them. Can I check in on my application? No, but you should hear back from us within a week. Will I be contacted if you declined or accepted my application? Yes. A pm will be sent to those declined and those accepted. If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me. :)
  3. Thanks very much to everybody who has applied. Applications are now closed - if you needed a bit more time, please let me know. Otherwise late applications will unfortunately not be accepted. Remember that 'no news is good news'. If you have not yet heard from us, you are still in the running. Acceptance and Denial PMs will commence some time soon. Thanks again to everyone! ~Cowman
  4. Reminder that you have just under 17 hours left to submit an application. If you require an extension, please PM me.
  5. Just a reminder that applications will be closing in one day - please get your application in if you still need to. If you need additional time than the deadline allows, please contact me. ~Cowman
  6. I'm strongly against the idea of even trying it out on the basis that the feature is totally useless. This is pretty much exactly the same thing as the proposed 'trusted users' suggestion - unnecessary separation between community members. I've always liked how everybody on Tip.It can be treated more or less equally with one being a member for years and years and one being a member for a couple months. Sure people won't know the person whose joined only a month ago, but as soon as there's some sort of ranking system between established and new users, it creates a bad atmosphere where some people appear to be superior to others. Forums that have systems like this turn me right off - I don't want Tip.It to become one.
  7. This is exactly my thoughts on the matter. If you believe a monster should have it's weakness info listed in the entry, feel free to suggest it in the Bestiary forum :) ~Cowman
  8. Or you could just not swear so much ...
  9. This week's poll asks: What is your total skill level in-game? Less than 500 501-1000 1001-1500 1501-2000 2000+ Thanks to Gandorf61 for providing the poll question. >>> Vote Now! <> View the Results <<< Still see the old poll? 10. I only really know mark-up languages, which I'm fairly fluent in - XHTML/HTML and CSS for the most part. Wouldn't mind learning JavaScript. I am working on learning PHP/MySQL slowly and so far it seems fairly easy. I'm not so much interested in programming as I am in Web Design it seems.
  11. Clarified. Thanks. ~Cowman

  15. Thanks very much, these changes will go live shortly. Sorry for the delay. ~Cowman :)
  16. I actually think this is a great idea. There is no 'easy' way to plan out your house unless you have experience in POH building already and kinda have an idea what you are doing. The tool would help you plan out a layout for the house and give you costs and things.
  17. What people are trying to get across here is that people do NOT need a special title to give off this same effect. I can think of plenty of decent staff and users who I'd say are great community members and are people to look up to. Do those users need a special rank to let everyone know? No. It would look extremely arrogant and create an unnecessary division amongst the community members. The bottom line is: people shouldn't require a rank to give off that effect. The system you proposed another post above is extremely complicated and the mock staff member/user correspondence extremely arrogant-sounding. First off, the administrators have enough troubles dealing with the forums in its current state. And the other staff are all fairly tied up in their respected areas. How would any member of staff have time to keep track of every single person who has ever asked to be a special user or every single qualified user, keeping in mind all tipit staff positions are voluntary? It would be virtually impossible to do this without making it a full-time paying position, which is not feasible at this time nor worth it in my opinion. And again with the correspondence, it would make me extremely embarrassed if staff were talking down to others like that. Staffers are also users, and not really ranked over them in this community. As I've already said, the qualities you've listed to be a matured member are identical to those that should be surrounding every staff member on this site - there is no need to over-complicate the community with more and more labels.
  18. Thanks, forgot about that. Added. ~Cowman
  19. Haven't watched it yet - starts in 10 minutes for me heh. EDIT: Was alright. Like steve said, it was also pretty meaningful to me. I also hope he'll be on air again some time, though it sucks he can't really use any of his old sketches as they're property of NBC. http://www.tonightshowwithconanobrien.com/video/clips/cold-open-of-the-first-show/1116061/ Still love that video lol.
  20. I quite liked his show - I don't think they gave him a long enough chance, tbh. Last night's show was really good. In any case, both Leno and O'Brien are 1000x better than Jimmy Failon >_>

  22. Hi there, There are no current plans to release a Stellar Dawn branch of the website. This site is, after all, a RuneScape fansite and not a Jagex fansite. As the time gets (much) closer to release, or even after release, it will be the admins' decision if we will be branching off to a Stellar Dawn branch of the site. This would probably require a whole entire other web crew and I'm not sure we have the people for that right now. We'll have to play it by ear, probably after it is released and its popularity/success here at tipit and overall.
  23. From personal experience, when traveling in other countries, it always tends to be the Americans who are unpleasant and actually rather racist and not the other way around. While I know that all Americans are not like that, especially because I know tons of very nice people in the United States, it's the rude ones traveling abroad that give you the reputation. And then of course the media and ridiculous reality TV shows will also shed a negative light on you. So yes, in many people's experiences, Americans probably were pretty obnoxious and rude with them and this is what causes a lot of this. Not all of it, of course. Some people just hate on stuff because other people do, without knowing much about what they're hating on. Personally, if I'm making fun of the US it's usually back at someone whose made fun of Canada too (and usually started it first, heh). Unless they are very serious about it, I'm probably not serious about any claims I make, heh. Let people have their opinions: prove them wrong. If you ever visit another country and they mention it, try to prove them wrong too.
  24. Works fine for me, weird. Will wait for a tech admin to read this. :)
