^ You can antialias stuff in Paint easily simply by starting out with a huge image and then resizing it.

Try uploading it on ImageShack. Anyway, the linework seems quite sloppy in places (the walls should be more straight, the tree seems very unrealistic, etc.), and those white bits make it look quite messy. I'd try to work on anatomy too, I understand you were going for a cartoony style, but it's still important. The guy in monk's robes, for example, really looks quite strange. Overall, not bad, but there are some little things that bring the picture down.

The first Photoshop picture looks pretty good, but I agree the other stuff seems slightly random. The Paint linework is nice, but those guy's legs are really way too short. The dragon and magic tree drawing look good, though.

It's not too bad, but I think the white at the top ruins it. It doesn't really fit the dark-ish mood of the rest of the signature and is quite distracting. The brushing/smudging (not sure what it is) is decent, but not terribly interesting. I think it would help if you added something to it, a bright red semi-smudged splatter for example. IMO the signature just needs a better focal point.

Text & border = noplz. It's not terrible apart from that, but the colours are quite boring. I'd say it doesn't have enough contrast actually, not sure what you did to the left side, but I'd try to fix the pixeliness of it.

Not bad at all. :D The style of the first one is pretty good. So is the blending and the text isn't too bad either, but I do think the background could use some more colour. It's kind of dark and not terribly interesting at the moment. Maybe add a few more blue/orange effect C4Ds and see how that looks? But good job on this one, I think it's one of your bests so far. :thumbup: Not sure about the second one, the abstractness just doesn't really work for me. I just... don't know, sorry. :|

It's a pretty nice signature, but what's the point in us commenting on it when your friend isn't here anyway to read those comments? I really don't get why people can't make their own accounts to post their work.

^ Pretty sure he did make that, but it's really easy to do, it's just an effect in Gimp with text added to it. abbydog, try to put some more effort into your work than that, I'm pretty sure that's incredibly easy to do. It still looks filter-piled and bad and that animation effect is really boring. And the text is huge and distracting. D: Again, take a look at a few good tutorials. I wouldn't recommend most of the ones on GimpTalk.

It's ok, pretty much the average beginner signature: bad text (try not to add it next time), not enough blending on the render and a filter-piled background. For now, just go to a site like deviantART and search for something like 'signature tutorial' and read a lot of those. That's what I did and it really helps. Also, you can take a look at other people's work to get some ideas - don't rip/copy concepts exactly though!

Read about this a while ago. It seems like a pretty nice tool, but I would still think that picking your own colour scheme would get you the most suitable results.

Splashes are fascinating. All of these look pretty good, but #3 and 4 are definitely my favourites. They seem more interesting than the others, and I like how #3 looks a bit like a flower. :P

Good: Composition, mainly the focal placement. Depth is pretty good. Colour scheme is decent, although I probably would have gone for red-ish instead of pink (seems to fit the focal more :P). C4Ds work/pretty good flow. Not so good: Clipping masks (assuming that's what they are) next to his face: pretty distracting. Wavy lines/effects on the left: too random and chaotic IMO, I'd try cleaning the signature up a little. The background is quite bright, also a bit distracting. Not sure if you can do something about that without making it look bad, though. Colour scheme, like I said, maybe try more red-ish one.

Well, first of all, I'd get rid of the text. The font is alright, but the placement and effect (pixely outline, semi-transparent in the middle) makes it really distracting. Also, the signature does definitely need more blending. Not really sure what you could do to make the renders stand out less, maybe try smudging some of the edges slightly. Might not work though, because of the floating head-ness; you wouldn't want to just chop off an ear for example. As for the different lighting, try messing around with the contrast on the layer with the guy on the left.

Why can't your friend register here and post his work himself though? Anyway, it looks pretty good. A well made fake, just doesn't really make me laugh.

Not too bad for your first few signatures. Like said before, if you're not sure about what kind of text you should add, I wouldn't add any at all. The text you have right now is kind of distracting and just doesn't add anything to the signature. Try to work on your backgrounds too, they're quite blurry and just not interesting and pretty flat looking. Take a look at a few tutorials at for example deviantART and keep practising.
