Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
This is a good point. Gamers have been spoiled by the next-gen almost-lifelike graphics of PS3/X360 games, so looking at something with cartoony, pixelated graphics is going to be a big turn-off for many people. I grew up on Sega Saturn era RPGS, so I put a little less value on graphics, but I'm likely in the minority on that.

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
It will. There is a reason all of Jagex's products since RS have failed: they don't give a [cabbage] about quality. They can get away with it with RS, because most of their customer base is either too addicted to quit regardless of what Jagex does or they have invested so much time that jumping ship doesn't seem like an attractive option. With a new MMO, they have to develop a brand new customer base for it, and that is quite hard when you have a reputation for churning out half-baked, buggy, conceptually-flawed products. Yes, them not releasing MechScape due to them thinking it wasn't any good is them not caring about quality. The only games developed by Jagex have been RuneScape and FunOrb. FunOrb was made by an entirely different team and has had limited success although it was a huge let down but things like Arcanists have a fairly decent player base. That is all Jagex have developed and released so far. So I'd hardly say they're "churning out" anything at all. Having the 2nd biggest MMORPG in the world is a huge feat and clearly shows they know what they're doing when it comes to MMOs. And the MechScape base is being used for Stellar Dawn which is separate to this, while it's not inconceivable that this will be working on the same engine it won't be anything like Stellar Dawn/MechScape at all most likely. I consider each "update" they make a "product." And they have a long, miserable history of buggy updates that fail to meet anything like what the players wanted or were hoping for. Since their primary word-of-mouth for new games they create comes from RS players, and anyone who has been playing RS for any length of time has realized how badly Jagex mismanages this game... They aren't getting much help there. And really, the only reason RS has survived is because there are no other MMORPGS in the market that are as affordable and accessible as RS. I've said for the past I don't-know-how-many years that if a competitor came along in the same <$10 market of browser-based MMOs, RS would sink like a rock (that is unless Jagex got their [cabbage] together).

Running around. Speaking from experience (as in, I did this), anybody who runs when Nex gets on them makes the kill that much more difficult. Nex has a devastatingly constant damage out-put, so doing as much damage to her as quickly as possible is essential to maximizing the amount of kills/supplies used. So if someone is running, it causes her to chase them and therefore brings her away from everyone else, lowering the DPS significantly.

It will. There is a reason all of Jagex's products since RS have failed: they don't give a [cabbage] about quality-- they have made a habit of cutting corners to maximize profits, at the expense of quality and customer satisfaction. They can get away with it with RS, because most of their customer base is either too addicted to quit regardless of what Jagex does or they have invested so much time that "jumping ship" doesn't seem like an attractive option. [POLL] Is Dungeoneering a FAILURE?
Adding a multiplayer aspect to the skill was a good idea, but making multiplayer MANDATORY to maximize experience rates was a horrible idea. The exp gap between solo and team is one of my biggest points of contention with this skill.

[POLL] Is Dungeoneering a FAILURE?
This. If you don't have friends willing to go with you or a clan such as DGS, training DG will be one of the most miserable experiences in RS. To put it another way, the majority of RS is too [bleep]ing stupid to win a very simple minigame called Pest Control, where the only real things you have to do are devote about a quarter of your team to killing the monsters attacking the void knight, while the rest of the team kills spinners/portals. So what do you think will happen when these same idiots try to do something that requires as much forward-thinking and planning as Dungeoneering? It'll be a right cluster[bleep].

Nope. Sorry but no good team is going to take you with those stats. 91 summoning means your overload supply is limited. Lack of Pack Yak is terrible for your team's efficiency. And of course, a higher range level is crucial. herby shouldnt be an issue because ill just stew overloads and prayers or whateve. that suck though. basically i have max range and get 96 summoning.. :ohnoes: thats gunna be dull.. and then if i get that but only had 100m or so to spend on gear..? Historically speaking, people with 91 Herblore are generally considered as not having Overloads, because: A) Even if you CAN stew to make them, you can't make that many of them. You might have 40-50 of them, but they'll run out sooner or later, and it won't be as easy for you to make more. If you had a good amount of them, you wouldn't be 91 Herblore anymore. B) People with 91 Herblore tend to be more conservative with Overload usage, even if it means not re-potting towards the end of a trip because you don't want to waste a dose for only 30 seconds of benefit. This, in turn, can end up costing your whole team more time and supplies. Even if these don't apply to you personally, this is the general opinion of people making Overloads at 91, so either you're going to have to show them 250+ Overloads, or a better herblore level. 100M should be enough for gear and supplies. A full set of ceremonial is ~10M. Ranger boots are ~20M, Amulet of Fury ~15M. That leaves 55M for potions, bolts, and armor. You won't have Divine/Elysian obviously but you could just get Unholy Book / Dragon Defender / EEKS. Speaking of EEKS, you will need some chaotics though. Exact number varying per team, but generally teams require anywhere between 2 and 4 chaotics (rigour being counted as one). Couldn't you just do the logout trick to make as many overloads as you want? Or has this been fixed? What he is saying is that, with the experience OVL give, if you are level 91 herb then you undoubtedly have not made many and therefore do not have many to use. As a result, people with 91 herb are likely to be more conservative with their OVL, which is a detriment to the team.

Funny thing about 91 herb is that it means you don't have many overloads. If you stew at 91 and make a couple hundred four dose, you'll end up at level 92 or 93 by the time you're done.

Why are people suddenly buying for high prices? It's a buy-out. And you thought this would disappear after free trade came back ;) There is a low enough supply and high enough demand that the multi-billionaires can still exert enough influence over the market of these items to cause wild price swings like this.

Personal attacks = dung doesn't suck? Oh darn, you win :-( I was considering joining DGS, but I'm assuming that's out the question now anyway. Well, I guess that's a good thing if this is who runs it. I'll stick to casual DG with my semi mentally challenged brother who, to be honest, understands that games are meant to (prepare to be completely shocked) have... fun? Oh my God, I must my out of my mind to suggest such a thing! Games are clearly meant to be work simulators where you have to learn how to do something useless and work with annoying people. God forbid I want to relax in my free time. Again, perspective. Many people, myself included, find fun in doing 20-30 minute dungeons and reaping the rewards of 160k+ xp/hour from that. Or when you mess up even slightly, you get kicked after killing the boss. Even in clans where you're meant to learn. That's pure frustration right there. I don't know about you, but I'm not having fun while frustrated. By the transitive property, arguing with Obtaurian is very fun . I don't even try to make him angry and he rages. It's so cute. DGS doesn't kick people unless you go out of your way to be a [developmentally delayed]. If you derp and make armor or world-bearers, you'll usually get at least one warning not to do it. I can't really ever remember when we kicked someone in a DG who wasn't a random from 148 who turned out to be an idiot. And yes, as MC pointed out you can't be kicked after the boss is dead.

[POLL] Is Dungeoneering a FAILURE?
Dungeoneering is very much "Your milage may vary." The overall design of the skill is terrible. Forcing people to team with each other in order to get anything like good experience rates is a recipe for disaster in this game. I saw the present situation coming as soon as the skill was released--- right now, if you do not have friends to train with, it's extremely doubtful you'll make it past level 80 and making it to level 100 is almost impossible. I knew that once the popularity of the skill died down and the "veterans" quit training it, finding quality teams would become almost impossible. For this reason, Jagex should have balanced it better--- soloing is really boring and often you'll run into doors you just cannot do, which destroys your experience rates, which are already nowhere close to team experience rates. If soloing were closer in exp gains to teaming, this skill would be a whole lot better. TL;DR: If you have friends to DG with, it's a lot of fun and a great skill. If you don't, it's the worst skill in the game. With the creation of DGS, dungeoneering has once again become one of my favorite skills; hell when I'm on RS, I usually want to DG. Some changes I'd make to DG are first of all, add a "bonus" to doing C6 solo floors... One formula I had in mind is 1% bonus times the floor number, so if you solo F47 then you'd get a 47% bonus. Keeping in mind that you lose the "team bonus" which ammounts to like 26%, and the amount of rooms is far less in a medium than in a large, this would help bridge the gap between solo and teams without making solo more rewarding than teaming. At least, in theory. I'd also like to see them make some changes to the rare slayer drops; either make slayer monsters drop their special drops 100% of the time (so if you see a Night Spider, it always drops a hood), or allow players to purchase the slayer drops in exchange for tokens. You would have to select which bind to replace with the slayer drop after purchase, but this would make it where if you are one of those unlucky people who have gone 10m exp without seeing a hood, you have hope and it would also enable more people to have Hex bows. Of course, the prices would need to be steep... Like 1m tokens for a Hex bow and 500k tokens for a Hood. They also need more token rewards in general; stopping at level 90 DG with the useless piece of [cabbage] necklace is not good. They need to make rewards that require like 100 DG, 105 DG, etc all the way up to something really freaking good at 120 DG. Some rewards they could add are an inventory item that automatically picks up charms or coins, chaotic spear, modifications that you add to the DG shields to make them better, etc.

Changes to Lunar 'other' spells in single-way combat
Logdotzip brought up a good point: Since Jagex decided to fix this, they need to fix PJing too, at least with regards to mages. They can't fight how they are meant to fight (i.e. from a distance) because as soon as they start to farcast, some other douchebag rushes them.

Changes to Lunar 'other' spells in single-way combat
Honestly, I'm more annoyed by the sudden decision to fix it long after the fact than the actual ramifications of the fix. Yes, it needed to be done--- PvP was broken; heck, a few of my friends regularly got together to go out abusing spec xfer. And honestly, c'mon guys, who do you know ACTUALLY used these spells in PvM? Lunars only really have a couple uses: 1) Getting new tasks without having to go anywhere; then again, a lot of people have mucho points saved up, so they skip tasks often to make training Slayer more pleasurable/rewarding. 2) Farming Runs 3) ZMI rcing 4) DMing, but that's a very niche use. Otherwise, the benefits of Lunar are far outweighed by having to give up Fire Surge/TB or Ice Barrage. Lunars need an update.

Wat. Well I couldn't sell the extra top, so i was like, wow, I'll sell it 1 gp and get it for 200k or whatever min price it's at. But no, I got it at 1k. So I decided to undercut that [bleep] and buy for 1001. That's really sad. They're THAT cheap now?

Finish maxing out your stats and gear, and join OTG / PID / some other big PvM clan. Some do LS, some split, so just make sure you find a splitting team. Would I need divine/ely for gear? And just 99 mage for stats right? 99 attack, strength, defense, HP, ranged, magic, 91+ herb, 96 summon. And gear is very subjective.
