  1. What I am hearing in this thread is mostly: "I am a huge sadistic [wagon] and I can't wait to take away peoples' hard earned items through less-than-reputable methods." Seriously, there are people who can't wait to lure again, that can't wait to kill clue hunters or rcers? Grow a [bleep]ing pair and fight someone who has the slightest chance of killing you. Yeah yeah I know "lul u nub wild is dengerus and ders da risk vs rawrd" stfu. You're just a notch above the school bully who knocks down the puny kid and takes his lunch money. He should lift weights and bulk up and take karate classes so he can fight back, right?
  2. But the difference is that the Divine will go to one of the PKers, instead of being destroyed.
  3. No. This is the one reason behind their rigged poll: so that when the [cabbage] hits the fan and there are inevitable riots, Jagex can kick back and say "hey, you guys said you wanted this with 1m votes." The other reason was to get people who had retired friends to spread the word and get them to give a second look at returning to RS.
  4. Wow, you mean he thinks giving hackers a much larger financial incentive to hack might increase instances of hacking? Lol, what a moron. But yeah, any players worth keeping are going to adjust and move on. A lot of idiots will probably do a poor job adjusting ("selling green mask!" "I buy 125m meet me edge bridge" "omg a pile of coins on the ground in the wildy! *hops over*), and that is okay. We need some sort of foil for idiots to stop the game from being so damn full of them. That's exactly what he thinks actually. We've been trying to convince him that that is the stupidest thing we've ever heard. But he has made up his mind that he is right. I'm pretty sure you fell into the sar-chasm. This is exactly what will happen. Hackers/password scammers will become slightly more common BECAUSE there is an actual financial incentive to steal people's accounts now, instead of doing it just for "lulz."
  5. Some will probably try to go out and scam people, and many will probably end up getting scammed themselves. Everyone else won't care because they never experienced what it was like before.
  6. With all the strength boosting crap that exists, just using an ancient staff as a melee weapon would still be probably as viable if not moreso than maging.
  7. I still refuse to believe they're doing this out of good will.
  8. I know it would be extremely annoying to have to do, but that really would make Nex an extremely hard boss. Good luck killing 160 GWD generals (or just minions?) in under an hour if you die. :P Oh, I meant to say god not boss. It's late and I'm sleepy. Still, 160 kc would be very frustrating. Also, GL looting your [cabbage] with a level 900+ boss attacking you lol, especially since from the "15 unique attacks" comment you can infer that most of the boss's attacks have some kind of "catch" to them like the upper-level DG bosses, and are not simply "pray this against that attack style to reduce damage."
  9. Yes, I agree that 90 DG is good.
  10. Based on the hype Jagex created, yes I would venture to say it is stronger than the Corp. 15 unique attacks? Yeah, this is essentially a DGing boss OUTSIDE of Daemonheim. It won't be soloable for a long time after it comes out I don't think, but it may eventually become soloable a long time down the road due to power creep, unless Jagex gives it a spread-damage attack (something that does like 3k damage but splits it over a group, ensuring a OHKO if you are alone). I really hope that Jagex doesn't do what I am afraid they're going to do with regards to accessing it: 40 kc from every boss. That would be a massive pain in the ass... But on the flip side, it'd probably keep away at least some of the less dedicated people.
  11. At 80 range with no other bonuses but the range strength from dragon stone bolts the max hit would be 254. Add void and extra levels on and you have some seriously fast training. Who knows, maybe even a special attack? No. Just no. They said it would be the same speed as a chaotic bow, which is the same speed as other crossbows-- 4 speed (5 on rapid). That is too slow to be efficient for training.
  12. It's a bow, therefore it's 2h. Also, the pricetag on it will likely require a LOT more work than just getting 2m DG exp.
  13. Thats part of the fun of PvM Im totally with you on this one, what makes stuff like this fun is the glorious buffet of epeen internet tough guy drama that spews out of these situations like ash from Krakatoa, spreading the hate all over everything. Its marvelous and breaths life into my soul, and the only thing i can compare it to is watching Danny devito make passionate love to a ham sandwich. Instances in mmorpgs are lamesauce. I bet you are one of those trolls who crashes somebody and then spews bile like "umadbro" and "hilt ololololol." Competition at bosses is misery.
  14. *Boss loses 30K LP* *Boss regains all LP and enters stage 2 of the fight* *Boss loses another 30K LP* *Boss regains all LP and enters stage 3 of the fight* *Repeat for six stages, giving the boss 180K LP* That would be epic. We need another multi-stage boss like the KQ :D
  15. Alas most probably the latter. However... if it is instanced it could be a way of making the boss more difficult by putting a limit on the number of people who can fight it. 50 ppl all specing on one boss isn't much of a challenge. People don't PvM in groups of 50 in runescape due to the lack of profit. People who do this besides corp, are either pures or just noobs. But for a while there will be over 50 people in each world at the boss.
  16. Realistically, I don't think these new items will make older stuff completely obsolete, at least not initially. Just because something is better doesn't automatically make older stuff obsolete, if the new better item's cost is too prohibitive for many people. And since Jagex is touting this boss as the toughest yet (outside of DG), these new items will probably be quite pricey for a while. I just can't imagine them making new spirit shield esque items though...and if they are comparable to current GWD items in the harvesting rate I'm sure they'd be well under 100m(hiltish items) or 50m(armorish items) within a few months....That is assuming that they make hiltish and armorish items, though. Well, as I said in the other topic, making them the same rarity as the other GWD items will still keep the prices well above 100m... Since this boss is guaranteed to be several times more difficult to kill than any of the other GWD bosses. Harder boss that takes longer to kill = rarer items, even if the actual drop rate is the same as other monsters' drops.
  17. I agree, but if you have them go for it, and everyone should have 96 summoning, and you will get 95 herblore eventually anyway. I'd love to have 96 summoning, but that requires a good bit of money that I don't have. I'd love to be able to get money by MHing with a pro group like OTG, but seeing as I am only 92 herblore and 92 summoning, they'd auto-decline me, even though I have the best gear (except divine SS) and have overloads. See the quandary? Shouldn't it be 94 herb with greenman's m, not even considering that the stew trick(which I'm amazed ahsn't been fixed by now) could put it at 90...or 92 for sanity's sake? Just a thought... Not sure if they can fix the stew trick, as I believe it's part of the engine's design. Anyway, getting a +4 boost isn't terribly hard. Usually takes around 5 stews at most.

I'd love to be able to get money by MHing with a pro group like OTG, but seeing as I am only 92 herblore and 92 summoning (94 banked), they'd auto-decline me, even though I have the best gear (except divine SS) and have overloads/turm/max combat. See the quandary?
  20. Soul split and protect flicking is a bug? Or am I missing something? There is a bug (similar to the purple sweets bug of a long time ago) where Corp's mage attack hits slower than your SS effect, enabling you (with a HUGE amount of luck, as his melee and splash claw attack don't have this effect) to survive at 1 LP.
  21. Using a bug. Granted, the amount of focus and precision to do that is impressive, but that feat was with a bug, nonetheless.
  22. Unfortunately, OTG has a few really off-the-wall pointless requirements. One, 96 summoning. Okay, I understand the benefit of being able to bank your loots, but that's a personal benefit and not a TEAM benefit. Except at DKs, a yak and a pony are about equal when it comes to how long you can stay. This might change with the new boss, but that is to be seen. Two, 95 herblore. Why? Why not 92? I can make just as many OVL at 92 (or hell, even 91) herb as I can at 94 or 95. It's called the Stew Trick. Ya?
  23. Well, there is an easy way to counter the "much more overall k/ph with instanced bosses" downside: make the drops rarer. I'd happily take a 1/500 drop rate over a 1/100 drop rate if it meant not having to fight to take/keep a world.
  24. The best solution to the overcrowding is to make it CC-instanced. That is, everyone ranked (at least Friend) in a specific CC will have their own spawn. Then teams won't have to battle each other, the boss itself won't get obliterated by zerg rushing it en masse, and it promotes comradery rather than promoting being a cut-throat [wagon]. The community as a whole benefits from instanced team bosses, whereas the way Jagex has formatted bosses in the past fractures the community.
  25. I want to know about it now, lol. I don't see myself going there and fighting for scraps against 50 other level 135+ for a while, but I still want to know about it. My college starts up again the 10th, which is the week this will come out :c
