  1. Like RSW44 said, there are 13 confirmed drops. Even if each one has a 1/250 drop rate, isn't that the same as 1/20 chance to get an item? That's really high even if it's like 2 kills per hour. No, that's a 1/250 chance to get ONE of the thirteen items. Just because there are more items to get as drops doesn't increase or decrease the rarity of them.
  2. With 13 drops confirmed, the drops will be pretty common compared to other bosses. However, I think the challenge is Kills per hour. If you can't kill many per hour, the common drops make up for it and possibly make the drops equal to that of Bandos. There are plenty of maxed out characters who will crowd every single members world when this comes out. Don't expect anything to be 500M tbh. If they have that kind of money in GP, they'll be at the dungeon. I could see the bow going for a solid 100M for quite some time; and the armour, except to pay 250M+. This is the other reason I am really disappointed with the way Jagex has approached this. A new boss with only one spawn per world, without the requirement of a difficult quest to complete to access it like the Corp Beast. Thanks to the stupid [bleep]ing exp weekends, all the fierce competition of Bandos, Sara, and Corp Beast will flood to that single boss, making it a Sisyphean task to get any kills. Hell, I doubt anybody will really figure out how the boss works for a week or two after it comes out because with dozens of maxed players with OVL in each world speccing it as soon as it spawns, it will die within seconds. I really, REALLY hope its instanced. Wonder if there'll be a DG req? If it's instanced, Jagex can prevent it from being so flooded the boss gets raped, and also make it so people can actually kill it. Hopefully they've learned their lesson with bandos. Hardest boss in the game just because its so crowded with 138s with overloads and chaotics imo. Hah, Jagex learn their lesson? Pfffffffffffffffft. When have they EVER displayed that they learned from their mistakes? They ENDORSE unhealthy competition between players. No, I highly doubt Jagex will make it instanced. In fact, I'd put real life money that they don't.
  3. The drops need to be more common than other GWD drops because the boss will no doubt be much, much harder. A 1/150 drop from something that takes five minutes to kill is a HELLUVA lot rarer than a 1/150 drop from something that yields one kill every one and a half minutes (with 95% of that time coming from respawn waits).

  5. Well, it's all speculation at this point. However, an unlimited ranged weapon without any strings (degradation, etc) will be in very, very high demand. Also, a boss that has 15 different moves? Sounds like this boss is going to usurp the Corp Beast as the toughest and most dangerous boss in the game. Therefore, unless its drops are DK-drop-rarity, they will be extremely valuable. If Jagex makes them sigil rarity (I really hope they don't, because it'd permanently put all these items out of reach of 95% of RS), the items will be hundreds of millions or even into the billions once free trade returns.
  6. If it doesn't degrade at all and ends up being ranged's version of a melee weapon, it will go for 500m or more. At which point, I don't give a [cabbage] because I'll never be able to afford something like that.
  7. Jagex said bow and not crossbow. So fellow chaotic crossbow owners, you don't need to fret, yet. If it IS a bow then it will be 2h, which significantly limits its usefulness.
  8. No, it's not how it was manipulated before the GE, but since the GE has come out price manipulation has become the only way many people know how to make money. Not to mention the people who run those clans are going to find a way to continue leading mindless hoards of peons in pursuit of easy GP. I can already think of a few ways to do it using the GE system I think Jagex could use, but until we see what the real system is we can never really know if manipulation will work. This is what I was saying. I know that is not how price manipulation worked before the GE, but it's one plausible approach as to how it will work AFTER free trade returns.
  9. [bleep]. I AM SICK OF THEM MAKING ALL THE HIGH LEVEL GEAR LUCK BASED DROPS. WHAT THE [bleep] [bleep]EX? Also, they are ALREADY making the Chaotic Bow worthless? [bleep] you [bleep]ers. I don't like.
  10. its a lot of effort to turn it into a true auction house. I doubt Jagex will bother, although it would be nice. Would an auction house be better? I kind of like the current system, though how it works can be improved. Yeah, it's not transparent, but that allows a system where you get a great idea of overall player perception of item's worth. PS: I assume Shared Loot will change so that the players get the gp as if the item is sold for the average price. It'd be awesome shared loot worked with PvP (reduce risk of PJ even more). How do you implement auction house into graphs like http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/frontpage.ws ? Removing the 10% price limit is easy but turning it into something that can, um ... do auctions and bids is completly different. Btw, anyone got scammers linking to phishing site like wildness-vote.net? Not sure where do they come from, havent seen a rs password scammer lately. Password scammers are going to make a huge come-back now that there is profitability in it again.
  11. Seems like the entire market crashed so people could have cash for free trade. If I was a would be invester the first things I would dump is my battle potions. I am so looking forward to people buying/selling everything for twice what the GE price is once free trade returns. Just because the money exists and because they can. You really don't understand how the economy works, huh? Sure I do. I made a whole lot of money in the days before the trade limits by merchanting in W2 Fally. What's to keep a clan of price manipulators who all have several of X item from gathering in that item's specific buy/sell area and spamming "Selling X item for <millions over the what the price was 5 minutes ago>." When there's a group of people all spamming something, and it's all people see, suddenly the price temporarily BECOMES that because if somebody wants what they're selling and they appear to be the only ones around selling it, then that's what the buyers have to pay. Sure, your average unaffiliated joe will undercut the clans, but chances are he only has one or two of the item they're selling and therefore will sell them quick and then the price will once again be controlled by the group. Basically all I'm saying is that after these changes occur, the market is going to be a complete cluster**** for a while. Manipulation clans have gained such popularity in the GE era that I am positive they won't die out once free trade returns. The only change that will occur is that if you want something now and have money, you can once again pay more for convenience instead of waiting hours/days while the GE processes offers ahead of yours in the queue for an item with artificially inflated demand.

  13. Well there you go, if "they don't care", then it shouldn't matter to them weather free trade comes back or not, so the vote should be discounted. If they DO CARE, and don't want it back, then they can and will vote. But at the moment those people are few and far between. Whiny noobs and PKers have always [bleep]ed up anything Jagex had us vote on, since they are the majority of the people who play this game. High levels and knowledgeable players know that noobs and morons are the majority so they don't even bother to vote, thus continuing the cycle.
  14. Hopefully never again. Bonus exp weekends royally [bleep] up the markets and they lead to overpopulation at bosses.
  15. It's stupid to expect the same amount of votes because a password is now required to vote. Now we won't have the hundreds of thousands of inactive accounts voting yes. J Mods are kinda stupid tbh... No, they're brilliant. As Lowc said, this is all a ploy to get more people interested. At this point, they HAVE to follow-through regardless of the poll or they will receive more negative publicity than they've ever seen. The amount of rioting would dwarf the 12/10 riots.
  16. Rose tinted glasses. What we do need is damage reducing armor/higher health (Torva) Lol I just looked up your bh rank and you only have like 500 score so I doubt your 2 big on pking. I've been a pker since I started rs and I've witnessed alot of changes and it was definitely better in the original wild in 05-07 without these weapons that can take off 90% of your health in 1 spec RSC PKing was the best.
  17. Honestly, the biggest reason I don't want OVL in PvP is because it'd drastically drive up the price of what is already by far the most expensive potion to make, at around 75k per three dose potion. And yes, I can make them.
  18. I'd have no problem with OVL in the Wild, if Jagex had done damage absorption properly. But as it stands, damage absorb hardly helps.
  19. We need higher soaking armor and soak itself was designed very poorly. You absorb UP TO your percentage of soaking, from damage that completely ignores the first 200 you are hit for. So instead of being hit for a 500 with 25% absorb and reducing that to a 375, it ignores the first 200 damage in that calculation and so the maximum amount you'd absorb is 75, leaving to to still eat a 425.
  20. d00d, players already hit 600s in PvP with super pots and turmoil. Do we REALLY need to raise that to 700s by allowing OVLs? FFS.
  21. Well, they are allowed to do that, because after all, it is the wilderness. Did skillers feel they owned the wilderness? That they shouldn't be attacked because they're "skillers"? All this time, I've been sympathizing with some of the people on here who said that PKers could be [wagon] sometimes, but all this constant complaining about something that was meant to happen... :wall: Look, you close the warning box, step over level 1, and you have a chance of being killed by another player. Whether or not he's nice or a douche doesn't matter, he's allowed to attack you. If you die, that means you came unprepared. You could gear up and fight back. See that RC pker over there? Fight him, make sure he never messes with you again, make sure he gives you back that glory amulet and knows whos boss. Never said that skillers should feel entitled to be left alone in the Wilderness--- in the past, the Abyss was balanced because it offered a great increase in output but at the cost of increased risk due to PKers. I was just explaining the rationale behind why some PKers choose to target defenseless prey instead of targeting people who are tougher battles but offer the potential for better rewards. And FWIW, fighting back against PKers is counter-productive to efficient skilling. If people didn't want to die to Abyss PKers, they should wear some of the pro gear I saw some people wear; Bear heads, black d hides, glory, barrow gloves, ancient staff, mystic boots, god cape. All stuff that maximized mage defense. Sure, it made it a bit more risky but they were almost never PKed.
  22. Merchanting clans won't have nearly as much influence over the market though because the prices will again be fluid. Sure, they can try to buy up the supply of an item but the thing that made GE manipulation work-- price updates being too slow to accommodate sharp changes in demand/supply-- will be fixed by allowing players to set their own prices outside the bounds of the GE's price caps.
  23. PKers hunted clue hunters for the same reasons that PKers hunted RCers: for the lulz and/or because they sucked at PKing too bad to kill people who were actually geared to fight back. There were some people who were actually good at PKing who still hunted skillers just to make them rage, but I'd venture to say that an equal amount hunted skillers because they lacked the skills to compete with their own kind and wanted the ego boost gained by killing somebody.
  24. In 2007-, dragon claws and Korasis's Sword didn't exist, and AGS was an extreme luxury item owned by few. Face it, clue hunting will be much harder in the "new wildy" than it was pre-2007 because one-itemers are MUCH more powerful than they were during that time period.
  25. Pictures like that are why I hate manipulators. No one should have that much wealth.
