  1. The best solution I have is releasing new untradeable armor for 90+ defense that absorbs damage, but to obtain it you have to complete a grand master or master quest that unlocks a post-quest side-quest with multiple 90+ skill requirements. Completing that would enable you to purchase the armor pieces from an NPC for large sums of gold (30m+ per piece), and the armor would need to be periodically repaired for a hefty cost, with that cost heavily dependent on your smithing and crafting skills.
  2. Overhauling defense won't happen because they'd have to overhaul it across the board (i.e. update every single monster) to prevent it from making PvM an even bigger joke than it already is. And if they release new armor that blocks damage, it'll immediately be bought up en masse by greedy [bleep]ing manipulator clans and will remain unbuyable in the GE for years to come, being only available to the obscenely wealthy or those who possess discontinued items. It's really a catch-22.
  3. Thats a lot of snakeskin chaps. they bought his divine with the junk in his invent lol Do you guys think this is cool, or something? People who derive pleasure out of causing other people strife are among the lowest forms of scum on this planet.
  4. Been playing since 2001, obtained all my discontinueds in my sig, not counting multiples prior to '07. If you want someone to blame, look no further than Jagex. It's their flawed GE system that allows manipulators to take advantage of these flaws and Jagex is too lazy to do anything about it. I don't like manipulators any more than the next guy but I've been around long enough to see Jagex's ineptitude in trying to create a far market system. Ah, well I apologize for assuming, then. And yes, I'd actually be very afraid if Jagex did say they were working on trying to fix the loopholes in the GE that allow price manipulation-- Jagex has repeatedly shown they know very little about simple economics, and would therefore be likely to [bleep] things up worse than they already are if they tried to implement a "fix." Kudos to a fellow '01 player, though  I was around for the tradable discontinued drops (including crackers) but traded all mine away before the end of RSC.
  5. [bleep]ing manipulator scumbag mother[bleep]ing [bleep]s. Why can't Jagex ban these [bleep]ing [wagon]? This doesn't personally affect me because I don't consume brews at a regular rate, but the premise of raising something that is very commonly used from around 6k each to 14k each (over DOUBLE its price) is [bleep]ing ludicrous. EVERYBODY suffers just so some greedy [bleep]ing back-stabbing nerds can make bank. [bleep] Jagex for making a system as fatally flawed as the GE and [bleep] these scumbags for taking advantage of it. You mad bro? No, he's right imo. Price manipulation hurts everyone except the ranks of that particular cc. (and maybe some taking advantage of temporary higher prices) 99% unhappy, 1% happy (among them some RWT'ers who bought ranks in that cc) -> wrong imo. Also, judging by the amount of rares Mr. Gandalf has (if his sig is accurate), he's probably one of them.
  6. To the people who questioned about curses in F2P, using an altar still gives you the option to change prayer books even in F2P (assuming you haven't disabled that prompt).
  7. Its easier than before once you get used to it. I can pick up what I want instead of having to take up a whole inventory to get at something. I lost a fire cape to the old system, so I'm happy about this change. You are probably the only person who actually likes it.
  8. Just came back after a week or two break....what's up with the right click menus? :ohnoes: Looks like it would take forever to loot..... And why is VLS on bottom  Because Jagex had a stoopid and decided they'd do us all a favor and try to fix something that wasn't broken by [bleep]ing with the right-click menus/drop order.
  9. If I went into more detail, that's what I'd say. Reward-driven team updates don't encourage real interaction. Nobody can force that. Unfortunately, the way the community is means that nobody will interact without that reward at the end, so it's a catch-22. The procedure for writing for you guys is to PM a potential article to an editorial board member, right? I think another part of the problem is that, through natural progression of time and the process in which the game has gotten easier, there are more high-leveled players now than ever before. These players feel a sense of entitlement to things, and when you pit them against each other for the best things--whether it's items or skills or money-making abilities--they become cut-throat. As far as MHing goes, there are not enough high-level monsters in the game to accommodate the drastic increase in high-level players (especially after Jagex's stupid [bleep]ing idea of having not one but TWO experience bonus weekends). High leveled players are constantly trying to gain the edge on each other to usurp control of bosses; also, the power creep has made said bosses ridiculously easy. Have you been to Bandos lately? I went with a team of players who all had claws and overloads, and it was a [bleep]ing JOKE. A team of four people, and I have no doubt that we could successfully kill him without the tank using Protect Melee. We need new high-level bosses to challenge us and provide new rewards; then the strain on GWD would lessen some.
  10. I agree that I dislike the trend towards "uber-efficiency" in RS. I am probably one of the most inefficient players there is-- I have played over ten years, with almost a YEAR of total play time, yet I am only at around 200m total XP. I like to stand around in banks and chat with friends. I also do not like that player interaction is being forced upon us-- the average scaper has zero common sense and is your stereotypical rebellious teen. They don't like to follow directions and they [bleep] you over in team-based activities; it's because of that simple fact that "pro PC clans" emerged in ye olde days, and now "pro DG clans" have emerged. That really bugs me, because you can't train DG efficiently without getting level 100--- below that you're forced to use public worlds to get teams, and the average floor takes an hour or more and a fair amount of teams end up with someone who dies and then rage-quits. In a few months, it will get so bad that soloing will be the only way to train DG below 100.

  12. That guy is already banned, I think That's so stupid, ban him for pking when he wasnt the one to reset his def. If you're going to ban somebody ban them straight away, don't give him a huge advantage over others and THEN ban them for using it. Dumb Jagex. Since when has Jagex ever acted like they had any common sense? If they did, they wouldn't keep making STUPID fixes to crap nobody asked for, like the Achievement Unlocked butchery of the AD system and the horrid drop system.
  13. I saw someone offering in w2 for 2k brews + cash but he accepted 600 brews in the end. No clue how much brews are though. It's this kind of [cabbage] that makes me loathe merchants manipulators with the fury of a thousand suns. Yeah, okay making sure nobody will ever get an ESS/DSS in the GE is one thing; but when they buy up resources, that's something else entirely. Brews have been bought out for at least a week now.
  14. If you are making OVL, it saves the Torstol, which is awesome. Also, this is a big reason I made spec restores instead of making Xattack, even though X attack is slightly better exp/gp. You save super energy potions with spec restores, which are 3.5k each... Whereas you save super attack potions, which are like 1k each if you make Xattack.
  15. Not sure now-- about two weeks ago it sold for min if you left it in for a while.
  16. Welcome to XboxScape.
  17. I have 15.6k spec restores
  18. Jagex knows the game in the sense that they know how the coding is expected to work... But they do not have any idea how their players think, because few Jagex developers actually put in enough time as a player to learn that. They don't get how emergent gameplay develops in their game. Jagex doesn't have any idea what kind of updates the game actually needs, since when they ask the community the loudest voices are the noobs because they are the majority. And the noobs just want instant gratification and have no real idea what would actually improve the game.
  19. Order in inventory, with equipped items taking precedence. I am not sure how it orders equipped items that have the same protect value if you will lose both of them, since that is almost never an issue.
  20. The BGS is the only GS that really has any use anymore. The SGS is easily replaced by a multitude of things-- EEE heals more than SGS more than 3/4 of the time, and for the majority of slayer tasks a simple bunyip will provide enough healing. And if you do need heavy-duty healing, there is soul split and unicorns for that. The prayer restore factor of the SGS is negligible, since you could buy a ****ton of prayer potions for what an SGS costs. ;) The ZGS never did have much use. It's good for castle wars and okay for Sara GWD, but meh. I'd rather have another person with claws to drop her more quickly than freezing her and preventing a little damage. The AGS used to be good, but its specs have too much variance. Dragon Claws are much more reliable for MHing because of the way it rolls the damage, providing a much higher average hit than AGS. And in Edge PKing, the other niche area of AGS, Korasi's Sword has now replaced AGS because its spec is far more accurate (it's magic based and does lots of extra damage!) and because KS is a decent enough weapon to use it out-right, making defending against specs by safing more difficult. As an added bonus, if you die and lose KS its only a few hundred K to replace!
  21. The alch values really bug me, too. It's bull**** losing a chaotic weapon, which I value at around 35m based the figures of a mediocre 80k xp/hr (which is realistically what most people can obtain-- most people aren't a high enough level to benefit from the high exp rates or the efficiency of being in "dg clans") and a moderate 1.5m gp/hr, to something far less valuable. And didn't Jamflex say they were going to implement a way for players to get back lost chaotic items for cheaper? What happened to that? It'd be much better if they simply allowed you to purchase the ability to WIELD said items with the 2m tokens (perhaps, receiving the item in a broken form when you first purchase the ability to wield it) and then made you buy the items with actual GP. I'm sure most people would much rather shell out 20m gp to replace their lost chaotic maul or rapier than to spend another 30+ hours getting 2m dungeoneering exp. Many people I've met who are 100+ dungoneering don't really care the rest of the game anymore anyway. So the rewards are fairly moot for them-- the skill itself is sort of its own reward.
