I accidentally Runescape.

Biggest disappointment is that none of the DG items give soak. Other than Corp Beast, Daemonheim is the one place where you consistently get hit for 200+, and adding soak to various equipment inside could have added diversity to peoples' gear.

I'm 126 with max combat stats, so I just do it in F2P with range. Even against a guy in rune, I still wreck using addy arrows.

Did anybody else take note that you can LEFT CLICK your [cabbage] in a pile now? This is even bigger than the damage absorption, imo. Regardless the size of a pile, you no longer have to use the scroll>highlight> scroll across>action, you can just left-click on something.

FF12 was another game with an exploitable RNG. The most powerful weapon in the game had two methods of obtaining it-- one which you get 100% of the time if you did not open a few specific chests, and the other as literally a 1/1000 chance drop from a specific chest. Well, someone figured out how to manipulate the RNG using the amount of times enemies hit you and the amount of times you zone in/out of an area to guarantee the drop. It was very tricky to do because there were a lot of enemies between the closest save point and the chest, but it was definitely doable and could be repeated with other chests that have a low drop rate (and boy were there plenty of them in that game). /offtopic

idk, i'm kind of skeptical because of how low the soaks are That's not what I meant :P barrows items have better soak values in addition to better defense values (than bandos), so idk why people think bandos would go up expecting a bandos crash, since tassets were already in a bubble for whatever reason People are dumb. Bandos IS in a bubble right now, and that's why I went ahead and sold for max today. I made around 7 or 8m profit, and Bandos is guaranteed to crash in a few days. What I'd really like to know is why Jagex made the Dragon Defender such a minimal upgrade over rune (at the time, it was presumably to keep the DFS relevant), and then they went and totally shafted the DFS with this update. Whatever. The damage soak only really applies to Corp and PVP. Kree Ara has a max hit of 210 with magic, so range soak won't do crap... And Bandos has a max hit of 350 with ranged, so you'll save like 40 damage. Meh.

So karils has the same soak as Arma, good to know. I also was able to sell my bandos instantly at max. like 9m profit? lol Gonna buy 96+ summon. To me, thats far more valuable than bandos, which is grossly overrated. A v skirt and torso is almost as good for slayer and is much cheaper.

What's your gear?

There were two close calls I had, both in RSC. One, I had just bought a rune large helm, which was 100k and that was a really big deal (100k back then was a whole lot, about like 10m is now). Anyway, I was in melzar's maze fighting the lesser demon for rune meds. I was out of prayer and had no food and was very close to dying. There was another dude in there with me and he could have let me die. Instead, he decided to save me when I ran by attacking it. I was scared of lesser demons for a long, long time after that. Another, I was wandering around high-wildy and found a loot pile by the GDZ. I looted a rune plate and some other lesser items and then saw a white dot appear on my map so I logged. May or may not have been a close call.

I've been a firm believer for a long time that each account has a hidden "luck" variable. Some of my friends CONSISTENTLY get good drops with very little effort, whereas I CONSISTENTLY have to really struggle to get any good drops. There are some people who seem to consistently get claw drops ever 50-100 kills... It took me 600+ solos to get my first and only solo claws, and I've done many more since then without anything to show for it but some crappy rune items and blue charms.

Massing TDs is actually MUCH harder than duo/trio. It is potentially much more rewarding on LS, but it requires decent organization to avoid it becoming a huge cluster**** with five of the six demons raping you.

I find stab and slash to be about equal with the rapier at Wverns, though I do use x pots and turmoil.

Raising all skills to 120 would [bleep] up the game. Look at it like this: at GWD, a trio with max stats and gear can drop any boss in under 20 seconds. And these are monsters that are meant to be the toughest in the game, next to the Corporeal Beast. What do you think would happen if they allowed us to train combat stats to 120? Everything would become ludicrously easy. Also, making 120 a legitimate goal (as opposed to something done to boost total xp) would encourage an unhealthy play style for many people.

This all seems like a spectacular waste of time to me. Resetting stats does nothing, especially when they don't wipe the bank too. And anyway, since when does Jagex give a damn about bots? They don't. They never have and never will unless it begins to infringe on their bottom line-- money. That was the whole basis behind the 12/10 updates: they ignored the bot/RWT epidemic until it became a legitimate concern for THEM because of credit card fraud.

Possibly the update that has annoyed me the most of late. IT HELPS NO-ONE. NO-ONE. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't reverse the [bleep]ing order of the loot. Now, not ONLY do you have to go through an awkward, clunky menu to get to your items but all your best stuff is at the BOTTOM instead of the top. This means you HAVE to navigate the clunky awkward menu to get your stuff, since if you spam-left-click, you'll end up with a bunch of empty vials and whatnot. What the hell? They've made some really [bleep]ing brainless updates in the past (like changing the color of the stat interface NUMEROUS times) but this has got to be one of the most asinine. I really hope they listen to the player feedback and change it back, or at least change the item order to put the best stuff at the top again.

Went back tonight and got a couple helms and am up to 11 defenders, which is plenty for me. I have honed my clicking skills to where I get the spawn about 95% of the time.

This, and like others have said, if there were no hoods, we'd all just bind plates and leatherbodies. SO MUCH MORE VARIETY OMG. Variety is largely an illusion in RPGs. In the endgame, there's always a certain set of equipment that stands out above everything else, and serious players always use the same top-tier equipment. And in games that let you choose your own skills as you level up-- choice is an illusion there too. Usually there are several skills that are vastly superior than everything else and all the serious players min/max with these skills.

The hood was too good until Occult... With Occult brought more balance by adding a bunch of new mage-based enemies like Necromancers and lots of Lesser/Greater/Black demons, all of which see you. Oh, and lots of hell-hounds too. And from what I've heard, Warped is even worse. Also, the penalty of using a hood over a platebody is that bosses are much more likely to chain comboes and KO you.

I just tested it out, it's FAR better than it was yesterday. Still crowded, but now they nerfed knives so whoever gets the spawn is who has the fastest click. Also, it is also true that you can no longer have your cyclossus stolen from you, although if you take too long to attack it after it spawns then it will target a random person in the room.

There are some complex keyloggers that record mouse-clicks by taking a screenshot whenever you click the mouse.

Oh wow, you scared me for a second. I had to quick check to make sure they hadn't stolen mine as well. If they had, I would have RAGED! lol. Only happened to people who were in one of the two servers that crashed when they crashed. Their servers back up data every 15 minutes, so if it crashes, it rolls back to the last restore point.
