Bonus Xp Weekend - September
I am assuming instead of getting double exp, you will only be getting 110% exp instead. Ok that sucks - They did it to summon and not herblore? Summoning definitely needed a cap, but so did Herblore. Extreme pots/overloads have a HUMONGOUS impact on PvM, and enabling people to get them so quickly at such a reduced cost is highly detrimental to PvM as a whole. This could be the straw that breaks the camel's back and finally ruins GWD as a legitimate money-maker.

Bonus Xp Weekend - September
This. While I won't be here at all from next week until near the end of October so this doesn't directly affect me, this will still have a significant long-term impact on the game. Because Jagex, in their infinite unwisdom, decided not to do anything to limit the herblore exp people can get, expect the already-cutthroat competition at bosses to get that much tougher as more people unlock extremes at half-price. [bleep]ing ridiculous.

19-Aug-10 Dungeoneering The Occult Floors
Is for me too. Which sucks because I love dungeoneering music. :P - Also to get this out there, you supposedly have to hold the magical blastbox in the shield spot for it to use the runes in the box. Heard they are making a wave/surge box too. Yup, they confirmed the wave/surge box in the FAQ thread. Either way it's pretty useless. I'm not giving up my shield slot to save a few inventory spaces Depends what the magic bonus of the wave/surge box is. It could potentially be useful at a place like Ice Strykewyrms if you can't use a Yak.

An Elitist's View on Crashing
Most people do not crash for lulz. As has been reiterated multiple times in this thread, most people crash because at certain bosses, crashing is the most time-efficient (and often the ONLY) way to get a world.

TDs are the easiest of the major bosses to solo. Quests are the reason claw prices are high--- the majority of MHers are like "[bleep] quests."

19-Aug-10 Dungeoneering The Occult Floors
You'd only set it to burn quams? No wonder you think it's useless. If you're like me who likes to pick up every herb to clean for xp, this is an AMAZING item, aberant spectre tasks will require so much less clicking now, AND I'll get a little more experience from it. That WILL add up fast on a lot of herb dropping tasks. Ok look, Torstols are only 15 xp to clean... I know that it's not worth it to use it on Torstols, but for argument's sake, let's say Torstols are worth 1gp, so essentially you get 15 extra xp per torstol. 99 herblore is 13m xp. If you got torstols all the time, you'd get 433k drops to get the level. So no, it's not going to add up, and it's not going to add up fast. Now think about how slow it's going to be if you only use it on cheap herbs... Your missing the point its not supposed to be used to get you to 99 herblore its to save you some time and money over the course of your daily playing.... I got that. What I'm trying to say is that, like the Bonecrusher, it's so insignificant it's not worth the tokens. And in the end, you'd "save" MORE money and MORE time if you spent the time it took to get 34k tokens on making money. Unless you're one of those nuts who is going for 120 dung. Then, why the hell not?

19-Aug-10 Dungeoneering The Occult Floors
Because we all want d'bows to hit just a little higher with that spec. If it's anything like the mage version, it has an incredibly high drain rate... And besides... It costs 3/4 of a chaotic weapon, and ranged got the short end of the stick in every possible way with Dungeoneering.

An Elitist's View on Crashing
And that was on a LS world? Wow, he had some balls to crash a trio (I'm assuming you were each using a different combat style with extremes and maxed gear?). I know you said the RNG favored him, but was there anything else he was doing could've contributed? Was he using a steel titan and overloads? Td crashing is all about anticipating the TD's prayer switches. as long as you can hit above 300 often you can crash pretty well It was two range/melee hybs (me and another guy) and a dedicated mage. The guy who crashed was using a pony and extremes + turm. He was obviously quite experienced at TDs, as his switches were much better than ours, which was probably the reason why he won on several kills. Kudos for him for being more skilled than we were, but crashing a trio when they weren't bothering your spot at all is still a [bleep] move. That's pretty crazy. Yeah, crashing a LS world is pretty unnecessary, especially at TDs. I'm absolutely positive that someone is going to jump on this and say "oh look the high levels who love crashing are complaining about being crashed! HYPOCRITES!" When crashing TDs or DKs (and even Bandos if you tele out while tanking Graar), you accept the possibility that the person you're crashing will attempt to get you killed. This is why crashing Bandos is so much more common than anywhere else. Also, TDs are the most pointless boss to crash. There's very little to gain and a whole lot to lose by crashing. agreed Not really. Would you rather solo or have 3 other people helping you while still getting the loot? Its actually a very good strategy. Whenever I get Tzharr tasks and I don't have supplies for Jad, I'll hop to a busy world like W2 and get last hits on things and get noobs to tank for me. But most often, you won't beat out a trio when soloing, and it is quite easy to get somebody killed at TDs if you lure every spawn over to them. Of all the lucrative bosses, crashing TDs is the least efficient.

If it's only 20% accuracy, that is pathetic.

19-Aug-10 Dungeoneering The Occult Floors
Other than the vastly increased experience from dungeoneering, this update was a big disappointment, especially after they deliberately delayed it all week.

Yes there are. And there are new monsters that remove your cloak, too.

I ended up on the receiving end up a "fun crasher" earlier today at TDs. I was there trioing, and this soloer comes along and even though we weren't bothering his spawns at all, and without any provocation he decides to start attacking our spawns. He was using a Chaotic Maul and Hand Cannon, with Dragon Halberd specs. Sadly, he ended up getting about half of the kills because the RNG favored him with multiple 650+ hits, so I lured all the demons in the area to him and then my team and I teleported. I hope he died. Such a fate is deserving of everybody who crashes purely for lulz.- Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
I agree. Nothing was promised though. They only started using that disclaimer recently because their reliability has taken a nosedive and they needed a way to save face.- Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
But from what Mod Emilee has said, this update wasn't even delayed--- they ****ing PLANNED it for late in the week. This is one of the most anticipated updates in several months, definitely in this month, and they deliberately plan to release one several days later than what people expected? This just creating extra hype for the update and making it more likely the update won't reach expectations. Since you're a Jagex apologist, I expect you'll come back with a quip about how it's players own fault if an update doesn't meet expectations or some equally likely excuse.- SoL and arcstream
Unfortunately, magic damage bonuses do not apply to multi-combat areas. If you attack more than one monster using magic damage boosts, the boosted damage will only apply against one of the monsters and all the rest will receive unboosted damage.- An Elitist's View on Crashing
Ourg Bones are 14k and Frost Bones are 19k. With a Yak, solo Bandos is way better than Frost Dragons, because you not only get the benefit of the bones, but also the coins/alchables/bandos drops.- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
No, don't. The higher-end masks are still valuable. Black Dragon, Mith Dragon, and Frost Dragon are all still very valuable. The L3 masks crashed, and I'm not sure about the Bronze/Iron/Steel masks because I see some people trying to get lots for them and others who claim they are junk. - An Elitist's View on Crashing
