  1. WHARRGARBL  It's more fun to piss and moan, tbh. It's much easier to be negative than it is to be positive. I think that is part of why there is so much hate and intolerance in the world.
  2. And create so much hype that it's almost impossible for any update to be well-received.
  3. GET RID OF THE [bleep]ING BTS! The twitters were, imo, far more effective than the BTS. First, they created a little suspense as you couldn't always tell what the update would be. Second, it gave Jagex some flexibility with releasing stuff when they wanted. Thirdly, it prevented the over-hyping that leads to most updates being considered failures, since by the time an update in the BTS comes up it has usually been extremely overhyped by the RSOF drones-- the more hype anything receives, the more difficult it is for the actual release to meet expectations and that applies to anything in life. Fourth, the BTS leads to massive item speculation, which very negatively affects the economy. Take a look at all the GWD and other high-priced items: since the beginning of the month, they've been in a free-fall, primarily because people a) want to have spare cash on-hand to buy new TT items and b) because people are scared the new TT items will be better than their current gear. After the TT items come out and people see that they aren't better than their Bandos and Armadyl gear, there will be a huge buy-out in those items, making the prices soar and making them unbuyable for a couple of weeks. Now, I don't plan my schedules around updates because frankly, I couldn't give a [cabbage] less about most of the updates Jagex releases. For me, as a high level player, more often than not the "In other news" sections have more relevance to me than the actual main update. Whether or not there is an update, I usually just carry on doing whatever I was doing before the update. However, with the BTS present, people wildly speculate on items they believe the update will affect, which DOES actually affect me. And I don't like that-- I don't like losing tens of millions in net worth because of the masses of 14 year old sheeple panic-selling their items on behalf of the BTS. The same crap will happen again and again each month the BTS exists too---the BTS says you'll need a high level in X buyable skill? Guess what: all items used to train that skill will be bought out until a week or two after the update goes live, after which it will be likely that you can't even sell them at minimum price.
  4. That's an illusion. It's still only around 45k an hour exp. Granted, that is higher than you can get with slayer or runecrafting, but nevertheless, it's not fast exp. It just seems fast.
  5. Doing a WF task with a maul is hilarious. Even unpotted, my kills are significantly faster than the people around me who are using sara swords and z spears.
  6. actualy maul is 167 str, and its limited to 1 attack style, so while it may dominate skeletons its weak on zombies, mages, giants, and some bosses It's weak on all bosses except Cursebearer, the boss you have to mine, and the Gluttenous Behemoth. Moreover, a maul makes you completely worthless against shadowforger, who probably the toughest boss.
  7. That's why I don't PK. It's all luck with very little skill.
  8. Nice bob. Oh wait. I call fake. Nope. omgawd agility brawlers. Explain. Why would you die with your bank?
  9. Fury is crashing because uncut onyxes crashed. All "anti-junk" really consists of is rare items that are pushed way beyond the boundaries of the GE in "price bubbles." Like in real life, all bubbles will eventually pop sooner or later, and the items people were speculating in consequently crash very hard. Don't worry though, unless Jagex makes it easier to obtain onyx gems, all onyx products will eventually rebound. They're too sought-after and rare not to.
  10. DK = Divine Kings. They are a NH (no honor) F2P pking clan that is (or was at one time) heavily associated with VR (Violent Resolution), the biggest and most NH PKing clan that exists.
  11. Since when has jagex ever catered to the PKing community? They spent the entire first half of 2009 trying in vain to provide a reasonable alternative to the old Wilderness. Their current system ruined the economy by creating items whose only purpose is to be converted directly into gold. The Ancient Curses prayer book is mainly geared towards PKing. The climbing boot debacle originated because some idiot mod thought most PKers paid 70k for climbing boots and wanted the GE to reflect that-- the results were a change that made many PKers obscenely rich and completely ruined the viability of using climbing boots to PK. Shall I continue?
  12. Rapier and maul are about even for PvP. The rapier is better for the "eat and spec" fighters, but the maul has the potential to be more effective if you are clever and risk more. The maul is absolutely devastating if you utlilize the "quick switch" bug by switching from a MSB to the maul and back (which also helps negate your opponent's Vengeance, which is a big problem when you hit as high as you do with the maul) and/or if you use a granite maul to spec after hitting a 600+.
  13. Tbh, I'd rather see a game that catered to nobody instead of one that caters to the worst possible audiences: i.e., low-levels noobs, younger users, and (to use his own word) the insipid PKing community.
  14. The combo ignores defense, and procs bonus damage like crazy. Downside is low base damage though. If I were in it's level range, I'd certainly go for the set. wait a sec ur telling me it ignores def entirely? dear god..... also confirmed by the #1 rs player, zerker does work on spears and he does notice his 1.2x dmg upgrade on his spear learned a few great tricks from the guy, best way to solo ferret, how to solo a lvl 500 shadow forger, how to do a 5 man lever set with 4 people hes pretty good but not as fast as some guys ive heard about, castle wars was still fastest key runner ive played with I'm interested in the level 500 Shadow forger Solo  As for the rings, well, I've got my ring set on Blazer (which is actually quiet amazing for those large dungeons where you find a ton of High level zombies and warriors), and switching the ring is just too much of a hassle to take the time to do, so I'll keep my spear unless they make ring switching faster, in which case, I'll ask one of the math guys here to prove which one is better for me (lazy  ) One (really long) way to solo it is to run it with turm + super melee pot and hit it once and then teleport out. Repeat until it is dead.
  15. All GWD stuff is crashing hard; do you think it'll go back up after lvl 4 clues are released, or could this be the end of GWD as one of the best money-makers?
  16. I've done the dragons for a couple hours throughout the day in W99 (a fairly crowded world), and for most of that I was the only person there. There were a few times there was one or two others for a little while, but mostly, I was alone. You don't take into account that the people with the stats/gear to get 3m+ an hour killing drags can get much more by killing other stuff, like DKs or Bandos.
  17. Just get to level 7. Also, there are only three classes that seem useful: Berserker, Tactician, and Gatherer.
  18. I'm calling it now: Medic will be the most useful attribute in teams. 50% extra healing is too good to resist. Only when you heal OTHER players, which nobody really does.
  19. Jagex dun goofed.
  20. It's not over-rated, but it is definitely over-updated.
  21. It would have been great if they had just made it one speed faster, equivalent to a crystal bow's speed. Then it would have been a big improvement over a rune crossbow, since you could then attack with ranged as quickly as a whip when using rapid.
  22. 255. Includes NPCs, barrels and statues Figured that's what it was. Highest 8-bit value. They need to modify the code, if they can, to use 16-bits in Dungeoneering. 65535 would be plenty of extra room to ensure the monster limit is never hit.
  23. What is it called? Also, a friend made me a prom rapier and i was soloing dungeon for a little bit and someone told me that you can only get primal off bosses in teams. Is that true? or can you also get primal weapons/armour from soloing bosses You can, but it's very rare like 1/100 or something. In a 5:5 map, you'll get a t11 drop from the boss about 90% of the time.
  24. Level = maturity, more often than not. Sure, there are level 138s who are total [bleep]s, but often, higher levels are more mature. Reason being is that it takes YEARS to get 2k+ total. And usually, with age comes maturity.
