  1. Maul is a 4, same as godswords.
  2. More accurate than a godsword against 300+ slash defense :P
  3. Yep. Well my friends that wanted to go ended up not going -.- so we might have to wait a bit. From when I tried at td's (though that was only a few kills before I had to go) its too slow for my liking, would rather ls or rapier. then again I was doing it on a laptop which is a lot harder and slower too so that might just be why. The reason I ask is I learned to do TDs with a godsword and I've found that I like using a godsword more than a whip when I solo... So I was thinking a maul would be good for me.
  4. The reason the maul is so dominant with PKing is because the average guy in rune has what... 250 defense? With your equipment, you have around 180-190 attack, so it's basically the equivalent of constantly fighting someone in d-hides. And you do fight someone in d hides, your attack bonus is way more than their defense bonus. But you really need to hurry up and test it at bosses, mainly bandos/sara and TDs. I am 100k xp from being able to buy a chaotic weapon and am still undecided as to which I should get.
  5. Add a "solo bonus" (that you only get on Complexity 6) when you solo. The formula would be 2% times the current floor you're on. Therefore, if you do F35 solo then you get a 70% exp bonus. This is to help bring soloing closer in exp values to doing 5 man teams, since you not only get huge bonuses at the end but the overall floor and prestige scores in a large map are significantly higher than in a small map.
  6. Reported!11 :ohnoes: Grats on the plate
  7. But how often do you fight rangers, either? The vast majority of monsters and players fight with melee. This shield only blocks 10% of melee damage. That means if someone "rolls" a 600 hit, you'll still take 540 damage.
  8. Chaotic only blocks 10% melee damage and 20% ranged damage, without having any effect on magic damage. Therefore, Ely/Divine are better.
  9. Ive seen two level 520+ Hobgoblin Geomancers since the update. Those bastards hit 500s :ohnoes:
  10. Which weapon do you think would be better for solo/duo Tormented Demons, Total?
  11. Which is why the penalty will only take effect if you slide down the stairs or you are gone long enough for the rest of your party to finish the dungeon. If you disconnect for long enough for them to finish the dungeon without you, it's the same as leaving, imo. 5:5 bosses are extremely difficult (and time consuming) to kill with less than the full party, so even if you disconnect right before the boss, chances are your party will not have finished it by the time you get back.
  12. And Maul owns them both when PKing. When wearing rune (as the majority of PKers do), you just can't compete with the 180+ crush bonus it has... You'll eventually get comboed to death. But I don't PK.
  13. Not to mention he can hit several times in ONE TURN for over 500 damage EACH on 5:5 raids, where you lose close to 15% exp per death.
  14. Realized I hadn't used my Nomad Zeal... So that got me within 100k xp. This got me 137 combat! Smd thrower trolls
  15. Sounds good. I also think they should heavily penalize players that leave a medium/large dungeon. The penalty would only apply if several conditions were met: 1) 15 minutes have passed inside the dungeon. 2) Only the first player to leave is punished. 3) The player must either permanently leave the party via the sliding stairs or his party finish the dungeon without him. The penalty would be -50% exp the next time that player receives experience for a medium or large dungeon. Another change I would like is for them to give an extra bind at level 75. So you'd have 2 at 50, 3 at 75, 4 at 100, and 5 at 120.
  16. Why do you think that? The CLS has much higher DPS than the Maul.
  17. The bosses I do most are Tormented Demons and Dagannoth Kings, so would that make a difference in which weapon I should choose?
  18. Both are superb weapons in their own right, but which is more useful overall? The longsword is much stronger and more accurate but it is slightly slower. It has 19 strength, 13 stab, and 46 slash more than the rapier. For slayer, the rapier would definitely be better since it is faster and most slayer monsters do not have very high defense. However, against bosses... It's a lot closer. Bosses have high defense, so the additional accuracy of the long would likely come into play. Also, you need high max hits to anti-crash, as you probably won't get but 2 or 3 attack turns during one spawn before the boss dies. What are your opinions? EDIT: Also, don't bring cost into the equation. There are people who slay with OVL potions and cannons.
  19. From a quest. It's an undead chicken.
  20. Primal plate? O rly?
  21. The shade's ranged attack will wreck the **** out of you in melee armor. Therefore, I agree with Qeltar's assumption that it is indeed a magic-based ranged attack. It's probably the same as the waterfiends' ranged attack, albeit much more powerful.
  22. Actually maul would be pretty incredible for WFs, since it gives twice the crush bonus of any other weapon.
  23. I'm having a really hard time deciding which weapon to get once I get the required level (in about 12-14 days). Maul: +Highest strength in the game, capable of hitting around 690 with max strength bonus + super pots + turmoil +Highest attack bonus in game, and since melee attack style doesn't make much difference except against WFs, Dragons, and the Corp... This is the most accurate weapon. +Incredible weapon for PKing -Speed equivalent to a GS, so it's a bit slow. -Two handed, so it's not good for soloing anything other than TDs +Great for Tormented Demons and team GWD. Since TDs switch prayers after 300 damage, you want the highest hit possible before they switch. And at GWD, you want the highest hits possible in one or two turns to ensure your team gets the kill. Longsword: +More accurate than a GS when paired with rune defender +Faster than a GS, and only 5 less strength than a GS when paired with a DFS +One of the best weapons for killing dragons (rapier might edge it out) +Best weapon for soloing bosses, especially if you have a ESS/DSS +Great weapon for pking, since it's basically a perm VLS. What do you guys think I should get? I don't PK, and I rarely do team GWD. The bosses I do most are TDs and DKs.
