That's amazing. Really, it's surprising what people can do within the confines of the game, and I've no idea how they even "get into" doing stuff like this. ... Or Ice Barraging in Dungeoneering... ... Or making Overloads at 85 Herblore. COUGH!! Pretty cool, but does tick me off a bit as well. :P People who exploited the bug have a 14 day ban atm (whilst the accounts are reviewed for further punishment = pemanent ban if applicable) Tbh, getting from 80-99 dung in one day is worth a 14 day ban, if that's actually all they got. Imo, Jagex should perm ban anybody who got over 1m exp using this bug.

Dood. It's 200k more exp. That's only five more larges.

Possibly the macro detection goes into overdrive if you get a lot of xp in a short period of time? Yes. In the first hour of bonus xp weekend, when training summoning I received a random about every 5-7 runs to the obelisk.

lost my cls
Once you have already purcahsed an item, you should be able to buy it back for 1/4 of the tokens you spent obtaining the item. Therefore, chaotic items would cost 50k tokens to replace if you died with them. To balance this, they would always be destroyed if you drop them upon death. Is that a fair compromise?

Maul vs CLS vs CR
Your numbers seem arbitrary to me, but I understand your line of thinking. I got the maul first, and the rapier second. I use the maul at GWD and TDs, and the rapier for slayer. I don't really PK. Speaking of maul PKing, you also have to factor in how badly you will destroy yourself with the maul if you fight an opponent that uses vengeance. You basically have to use the MSB/switch combo to survive against one of those players if you use the maul, otherwise it's inevitable that they'll hit a 400+ at around the same time you hit a 500+ and therefore you will receive about 800-900 damage in one turn because of Vengeance. With the MSB + Maul combo, you can also get off one maul attack at the same speed as a MSB attack, if done correctly. The other strategy to win with a chaotic maul involves using the granite maul for specs, which while it does own (as Tehuberelite can attest to), a g maul is worth about the same as a full set of rune, so...

Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
So by the looks of it this update has garnished the most negative response to an update since 12/10. :ohnoes:

Dragon Defender confirmed.
Until I can hit 500-490 with a single DDS spec, I am not satisfied.

Jamflex can be pretty stupid sometimes. A friend of mine was banned TWICE for macroing, when he never macroed in his life. After his second ban, he quit the game because he was fed up with Jagex's [cabbage]. As a fellow Nightwish and Within Temptation fan (symphonic metal FTW!!!), I'm sorry to see you go.

Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
Actually, now that I've thought about it, I agree with Sly. After doing a bit of research, I discovered that the two biggest P2P clans, RoT and Brut, don't even use climbing boots. They use colored boots, for the most part. Also, say the total amount of GP brought in by this is 1b. It might cause a short-term spike in prices because of manipulators and panic buyers, but consider how much gold exists in the game. Even 1b is a very minuscule percentage of the overall economy. The reason PvP artifacts created so much inflation is because hundreds of millions (or more) were entering the game EACH DAY. This update may have created a large amount of gold, but it was a one-time event, which means the effects of it will quickly abate.

No, but doing anything that requires money is going to become far more difficult for several months to come.

Nobody ever truly benefits from inflation. It's an illusion at best, and people with nothing find it that much harder to move upwards in the game.

Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword
They're just jealous, so they put you down to try to make themselves feel better. Don't let it get to you ;)

Saggitarian Longbow
The only bow worth keeping in here is the hexhunter. It really is godlike. But it's also extremely rare. There's probably less than 10 of them in the game.

15 June 2010 - Ancient effigies
Nothing, it just advances forms. The point of getting assists is to evolve it 4 times so you get a dragonkin lamp, which translates into 30k+ exp in any skill.

Use ring of life - You never know when that DC might hit you! Reds are a massive waste of money. Use grays. They're about 20k-30k exp less per hour and are roughly 1/4 the cost of reds. ;) Much, much better exp/gp ratio.

Dungeoneering Strategy Discussion
If you get a sag longbow, you also get 100-125 sag arrows. Skeletal Horde drops the Primal Helm, and much of its rarity is because people usually don't do the floors that spawn that particular boss in 5:5 larges. Therefore, the RNG has to spawn the boss in F30-35 (where all bosses from non-ice levels can spawn), which is quite uncommon.

Dungeoneering Strategy Discussion
Don't do the above. It's a sure fire way to royally piss people off-- especially if the remaining members get "stuck" in a dungeon because of it. Anyway, I guess I need to stay playing with more people who have 99 slayer, because I've never once seen a Soulgazer, and I'm 80 dung. Many 90+ dungeoneering vets are parts of various groups that keep lists of players who quit during dungeons. You do not want to end up on one of those lists if you want to still find quality team members. Speaking of the Soul Gazers, as I said I'm 220k off 88 and I've never seen one, and the teams I go with usually have at least two 99 slayer people. And these people themselves, many of whom are over 100 dungeoneering, have never seen one either. They are just extremely rare.

Dungeoneering Strategy Discussion
By the way you say it, it seems to be the most powerfull weapon in dungoneering so far. What level does it require to wield? 98 ranged. But given the rarity of the level 99 slayer SoulGazer and that it's not a guaranteed drop for it, good luck getting one. I'm nearly 88 dungeoneering and I have never seen a SoulGazer.

Dungeoneering Strategy Discussion
Order of 2nd binds: Hexhunter shortbow > Shadow Silk Hood > Promethium Platebody > Primal Full Helm (just because of rarity) > Blood Necklace (overrated item, imo, but it is a great 3rd bind if you get 100+ dung) > Primal Skirt > Everything else The hexhunter bow (and therefore the SoulGazer enemy) does exist, as a friend of mine has one. It's probably the rarest item in the game right now, and it is extremely powerful in the dungeons. Against Forgotten Mages, Shades, and most bosses, it hits consistent 300-400s and because it is a short-bow, it hits them very quickly. If you can get ahold of one of these bows and can use it, I highly recommend binding it over anything else. The Shadow Silk hood is also amazing. It allows you to be neutral to the majority of enemies in F30-35: skeletons (but not skeleton mages), forgotten warriors, forgotten rangers, and hill giants. The big two things to watch out for with the hood are Forgotten Mages and Shades. If a Forgotten Mage spots you, it disables your "invisibility" for about 15 seconds, which can be lethal if you are in a room full of monsters by yourself. Other enemies that the hood doesn't work on are pickaxes, hobgoblins, spiders, bats, dogs, dragons, and brutes. That may seem like a lot of monsters that the hood doesn't protect against, but zombies, skeletons, and forgotten warriors/archers are the most commonly found enemies in the later dungeons so it's better than it seems. Note that most enemies in the ice levels can see through your hood, but seeing as it is most efficient to just c1 rush the ice levels, that is of little consequence.

Stay high end, my friends.
Nope, I thought of that too
