Try buying a rare through the GE... I've never had much success with it. So there is still interaction. Also, most of those measures were to cut down on rule-breaking. I think Jagex did a pretty good job with that. Oh, and as far as this "economy" is concerned, I have no idea what you're referencing. Before the GE it was near impossible to gain a macro prospective of the "economy"... well, whatever.

PJ'ing is not going to get you kills, it'll get other people kills. So enjoy your failcake while you eat to full HP... you're disadvantaging yourself while they get in free hits.

Quit being stupid. The "limited supply of materials" you speak of can be recycled once thrown out. Plus, the amount of "limited materials" is quite vast. Its like calling the sun a non-renewable resource, because eventually it will run out. Sure, that's true, but it'll take on the order of 5 billion years. Party hats and Christmas Crackers are of a very limited quantity, a number which can only decrease. Therefore, they are truly discontinued.

players complaints on combat traingle unequality
sees_all1 replied to losthopeandwings's topic in General Discussion
What I don't like is how with melee, there are 2 combat raising stats - based on tip.it's calculator, if you have 99 strength and 99 attack, you'd have a 67 combat level... and if you had 99 mage/range, you'd have a 50 combat level. This puts melee at a generic disadvantage. -
They don't want your offenses to pile up - they'd rather you not make stupid mistakes. However, if everyone was able to appeal every single offense (this being the internet :P), they would need to MASSIVELY increase the number of staff to review every case, and most of it would just be spammy anyway. Plus, if a blackmark keeps people from doing it again, well, its useful really. Sorry about your situation though, I wouldn't let it bother me.

From a F2P point of view - I believe you are mistaken. I play FoG on my nub acct, sqelt. Sqelt is level 38, and with him I've beaten about 30 level 90's or above. All they all morons? No, I would think not. I'm just that good at hiding. I don't let them find me, and when I do, its when I'm standing near a house... if you time it right the only damage you'll take is when you enter the house. Also, every so often, maybe 1/5 games, I'll play someone that's my level (And by that I mean between the levels of 20-50). And I destroy them. Oh, and to help prove this, Sqelt's stats - magic 55, defense 10, HP 40, cmb lvl 38... FoG rating - 5,423 with 5,611 ranking points.

Basics of repel ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6PHICQkrdE Advantages of repelling: -Allows you to keep the orb moving continuously while standing still. -Keeps your run up high. -Allows you to "covertly" get in orbs Oh, and when repelling in diagonally, the orbs will go in on the east/west side, and will slide across the north/south side. Maybe I'll do more work... who knows. -Sees

Whats the current F2P min? Sees_All1 - f2p.

Is there any evidence for this from a reputable source? I semi-doubt it, but it does make me wonder... Anyhow, I like programming in Java, and I've had fun programming with Java's robot class. It's able to take screenshots, move the mouse, input to keyboard, etc. I haven't tried to write a macro with it yet, however the logic is pretty straight forward - until you get to random events. Those would be a challenge, espescially depending on the scenario. One thing that has kept me from writing macros is because I don't know whether java applets can see the other classes that run or not - and having the robot class off and running is a sure sign of macroing. I know that most macros use scripting and not java, but whatever.

The goal of communication is understanding. If there was understanding, they achieved their goal. If there wasn't understanding, there's a problem. How big of a problem.... who knows?

No, that was NOT MAGIC BASED. Did you even see what it looked like? Those smaller shapes are its ranged attack, the big shape is its magic attack. When it hit me, it didn't hit for health, because of the protect from range. I don't care how much you can run around trees to dodge revs, they are still overpowered in F2P. If I wanted to engage a rev, and fight it, like I would have any other PKer, here is why I'm at a disadvantage. 1.The most any F2Per could hit at a distance is 18. Not 30. 2.F2P PKers cannot bind AND hit damage at once. 3.F2P PKers cannot team all at once in a single combat zone. 4.F2P PKers cannot use the entire combat triangle. If they did, there would be no room for food, or they wouldn't have any armour. 5.F2P PKers cannot teleblock. 6.F2P PKers drop all but one of their things. If I wanted to run away from a rev, like I would have any level 126, here is why I'm at a disadvantage. 1.F2P PKers cannot magically run through doors 2.F2P PKers cannot disappear and reappear across natural barriers 3.F2P PKers cannot prevent you from logging out before they've even hit 4.F2P PKers cannot bind and hit at the same time. 5.F2P PKers are stopped by aggressive NPCs in single way combat. 6.F2P PKers are much fewer in "dead" worlds - with 500 or less people. Not so with revs.

Right, but that's not an attack from far. Plus, they'd only hit up to 26/27 with a scimitar. 32/33 with a 2h, but then they wouldn't be able to hit so fast. Point being that if Rev's are going to replace F2P pkers, they should be able to hit like a f2p pker. Also, I could run to the aggressive spiders, and stop hitting back... Then, the 126 would have to deal with a spider instead, and in that time I could get enough distance, and log out.

You are wrong, as my video CLEARLY indicates No, I ran away the first time because I wanted to turn on my range prayer. Then, I ran back to see it. During the time after I indicated in the video, I forgot to turn auto-retaliate off. I was trying to keep my distance from it so it wouldn't use a melee attack, as that wasn't what I was testing. It also helped figure out when I was frozen - if I stopped running, then I was frozen, otherwise I would've been running towards or away from the rev. I also showed you that YOU CAN BE FROZEN WITH RANGE PRAYER you were wrong. My combat level is 90. I was in level 36 wilderness. When I was in level 35 wilderness, it lost interest BECAUSE OF THE LEVEL DIFFERENCE. Quit piling it on. If you run from a rev, you will be attacked at least 3 times. The first time it attacks you, youll know its there. During the first time, it has a very high chance to do very large amounts of damage. Then, youll either turn on your prayer or immediately start running. Youll get hit a second time. Finally when youre out of range, it will hit you again. If, at any time during the ordeal the rev uses its range attack, you have a 50% chance of being frozen WITH PROTECTION PRAYERS. This is not a small chance I would not bet against 50%. This makes it easy to get hit a 4th time. During those 3 times, expect to be hit AT LEAST 50. The most a f2p PKer could hit during that time with magic is 48, and with range is 54. That would be incredibly rare. Oh, and that ~50 figure counts in at least 1 splash. I could run the numbers... but that would take about 20 minutes, and I don't feel like wasting any more time on you. The chance of getting hit at least 1/3 times is about 60-70% - figure 25 damage The chance of getting hit at least 2/3 times is about 30% - figure 50 damage The chance of getting hit 3/3 times is 8% - figure 75 damage. They have more of a chance of killing you than a normal f2p pker. edits: getting the quotes right...

Here is a video I took of myself being attacked by a Knight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWD8LH08EiM As you can see, I turned on protect from range. It never hit through it, however IT DID FREEZE ME MORE THAN 1/2 THE TIME. In the 1:15 I was in contact with it, and had the range protect prayer on, I counted 23 attacks from the rev. 8 were range attacks, none hit for any damage, but 5 froze me. The other 15 were magic attacks. With next to the best magic armour, It hit me 10 times. That's 2/3 the time. Of those 10 hits, 6 of them were above 16, and none of those were below 19. In F2P, the best a PKer could have hit was 16 with magic. Every 3.25 seconds I was attacked by the rev. Every 13 Seconds, I was hit for more than 19. This would not happen in normal F2P pking. This is why revs are overpowered in F2P.

If you didn't get anything out of this guide, some things to remember: -If you're pulling on an orb, and its not moving, chances are you need to get off. Sometimes you will lag, and you'll think you're standing in the right position, but in reality you're hugging the orb. -If you're repelling ever at the air altar, you're DOING IT WRONG -Timing is key. If you click on an orb just once, it will move at least 2 spaces, provided you won't hug it. During that time, you can reposition yourself while its still moving -Only click on an orb if you're going to help its position towards the altar. Too many times you'll find someone dragging an orb around the outside of the altar, never getting it in. Also, many times people will "nerf" their own orbs, putting it in a place that is difficult to pull in, such as behind a pillar. Oh, and play 50/50 if you're new. That way you can learn the basics in a non-competitive manner, and no one will scream NOOB at you.

Creating new life in old places... But how/where?

Put an altar in the east section of Karamja, a bank in Rimmington, and I'll be happy. -
So you liked my idea :P Anyhow, this monster kind of reminds me of 2 thing - Bubble Trouble and "How many 8-year-olds can you take on?" [hide=a little tangent 'plaining]Bubble Trouble is on miniclip, if you haven't tried it out. The "How many 8-year-olds can you take on" idea is a simple one. Given that you are in a gymnasium, with no weapons, how many 8 year olds could you bring down before succumbing to them? Call them your standard size, and they are fearless.[/hide] I support.

I'm pretty sure most people don't have a computer science background at all, but I'm amazed that the GE works at all - Say that there are on the order of 2 million active accounts per day, half of which will use the GE. Call it a million items in a day, with about a million outstanding offers. The GE then has to match up every offer to pre-existing offers, on 170 different worlds. Not to mention the number of unique items. I have to imagine that there are probably 2 servers dedicated solely to the GE Adding this volume number, however, would take about 3 hours to program in, in a failsafe manner. Plus it would be 8 extra bytes for each object. It would be pretty neat though.

The limits seriously made F2P crafting a [female dog]. I could buy uncuts for a fraction of what they were worth... saphs for 50, ems for 100, rubies for 500, and diamonds for 1k - made training to 50 crafting a cheap breeze. Now that everyone knows what's worth what, I can't train crafting easily anymore. meh.

Could we get a mod to just [/thread] ? Seems to me that this idea hasn't taken on too well with TIF, probably because it looks like the idea is basically to add about 8 quests and package it as a "skill" - I did read through most of it, and I can't say I understand it. Unless the author wants to clear things up, or put more work into it, let's just let it die. [/fail]

I'm not familiar with Oblivion, so I couldn't answer. I will tell you that this idea is not independent, however, as I did receive inspiration from (believe it or not) Golden Eye on N64 - pick up the shields for a health bonus (There may be other games similar, but I personally don't own any game counsels, and RS is my only major game). If you, or someone else would care to explain Oblivion to me, please do. This would give your character a "buffer" - as a way to max over stats.
-
I'm not going to argue about what I don't know - if this works in F2P, then it works. This style of fleeing is not the same as it was back versus normal pkers, but whatever. In F2P, there were very few instances in which you had to worry about getting 3 hit... If you wore full rune, then whoever attacked you would splash often - if they maged you, they would only hit 16s. If they ranged you, the would only hit 18s, and would splash often as well. You would not be frozen, either. This is why revs are overpowered in F2P, whatever the context.

Actually, this sounds very similar to what I had in mind, but I feel like you did a better job explaining it. Thank you. :)

xp for repairing and blessing graves (9 support) updated!
sees_all1 replied to FreezePop91's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Make it 100 xp for repairing, 500 for blessing, no limitations, and here's why. It costs ~3 prayer to repair, and even then can only be done once every 5 minutes. Even if a player was bent on abusing this for xp in the monastery, they'd still get faster xp collecting bones at the chaos alter in the wildy. Also, upstairs requires a certain prayer level... which btw helps higher levels out. The incentive for someone at a higher level is the x5 for blessing, because it requires 70 prayer. The idea has potential; but don't sign me up as a supporter. -
Here's the deal. New weapon/armour updates for melee, range, and even magic threaten to turn PVP into a 2 hit or less KO fest. Any higher hits and PVP will be pure luck, and less skill. I think that this direction is unacceptable. What I propose is similar to the idea that Jagex raises the HP cap - except in a different fashion. Jagex should make a new way to improve armour by giving it HP, similar to shields in many different games. The potential for this idea might be limitless - new ways to use smithing, crafting, prayer, magic, farming, and herblore. Plus, the requirements for this new type of armour could be a combination of HP and Defence. Other features to consider: HP bonus degrades after a certain period of time. Armour is able to be rebuilt for a certain fee. Stuff used to rebuild armour could be new type of drop? Or could be similar to the cornucopia. Armour would be P2P, as F2P doesn't need it. Blood Argon had a better explanation of what I had in mind. Numbers could be fiddled with... Discussion:
