  1. I like the name I made for getting people on Clan Wars... Cloned Jesus. I also like the names Fated to Die, and Holy Crap A ... when you hover over this one it says "Holy Crap A" lvl 3.
  2. The more you know... Of course, he didn't know your situation, that you recently obtained it. The one thing you shouldn't have done was corrected everyone else... saying that it was OK and that you weren't annoyed. You should've given it to him until logout, and then when you feel he is in the fight pits, at some high level wave of monsters, logged out... his armour disappears, and he dies. That would've been funny.
  3. Zamorak Platelegs, Zamorak Full helm (Although the guy I killed was wearing full zammy)
  4. I thought the idea was epic win though. Too bad - maybe we should petition Jagex for that though.
  5. I've done alot of my training at moss giants - PVP worlds usually are empty, just make sure you get lobs when you're down to about 4 or 5. IF you do get attacked by someone, just gotta run north to the lesser demons, and let the lesser hit them. Then you can keep running up and down the rope until the 10 seconds is up, log out and go to a non pvp world. -sees
  6. Just wondering, do Teleother spells and the like work on NPC's? I think it would be funny if someone unleased a Corporal Beast in a PVP world... tele it to falador. Lemme know, and post a video if you try it and it works :P
  7. So its different in P2P? I just kind of accepted it that you lose your boosted stats when you log out. TBH it doesn't bother me. I guess this is a F2P rant I'm not supporting ... (:P feels weird)
  8. Cooked lobsters have a price ceiling of 368 gp. I wish I had the data, the charts, a screenshot. But when PVP came out, you could not buy a cooked lobster on the GE for more than 368 gp, even though I'm sure people wanted to pay upwards of 500 gp per. In fact, for several days the middle price of a cooked lobster was the same as the max, 368 gp. Swordfish is another example - the max you could buy a swordfish for was around 470 gp. I know this because I bought about 25k of each before pvp was introduced, waited for 2k weeks afterwards, and saw this with my own eyes. Oh, and rune armour too. It was somewhere around 70k maximum for a platebody. You can know that a price is fixed when the median is closer to one end than another. And rune scimitars. And 2hs. Actually, pretty much all f2p combat related stuff had price ceilings. But I'm betting that you didn't see any of this, you didn't try to buy rune armour or scims or 2hs about 2 weeks after pvp came out. Trust me though, they were there.
  9. I was questing with my little sister, and I had to go do something real quick, so I logged out. I told her before I went that she should meet me in Varrock. She was near the goblin village, and wandered into the wilderness, was attacked by level 7 dark mages, and ended up dying. When I asked what she dropped, she said all of her money. And I was like, ok, the 500 gp I told her to get out for the quest. And then she says, no... all of it. All the 291k that she had gotten from drop parties and such, as well as all of her armour. 1 minute to get to a remote section of the map is not enough time... I was not able to make it. She was very disappointed, and hasn't played since.
  10. I enjoy GOP, FoG, BH, PKing and Clan Wars on F2P. I also enjoy merchanting and woodcutting when I get tired of those. Yes it is possible, otherwise I would've gone members about 2 years ago, or quit.
  11. Well, I've got 2 broken adamant pickaxes and 2 broken rune pickaxes. I bought them at max before the first GE price update, and I put an order in for 100 each - probably before many people noticed, or did anything about it. The price I paid was (I think) 1200 for adamant and 18000 for rune, or there abouts. IF jagex fixes them, then I will alch them (and make about 500 gp off the rune, and nothing off the adamant). IF jagex does not fix them, and they vanish, then I lost ~38k. IF jagex does not fix them, and they remain, then I have discontinued items. Have the randoms completely gone away yet? If not, you can start powermining and intentionally break a few pickaxes. And then you could sell those broken ones instantly at max, if you're worried what will happen to them. As far as the number of broken pickaxes, I think the total number hovers around 10k total. They aren't really used for anything....
  12. how about... INSTAWIN! costs 999 deaths, 999 airs, and 999 nats. Provides an Instant Win to runescape - not sure what exactly this would be, but its instant, and its win, and its magical. All in one. If anyone knows how to beat runescape... quote this in your reply... and then we'll figure out what INSTAWIN! does. Oh, and its a level 102 spell. So you'll have to figure out how to get 102 magic in f2p.
  13. I'm not complaining about anything. If I was, I would have posted this under the rants section. MY point is that any combat spell in the regular spell book is underused, that crossbows and other weapons are able to hit in excess of 50 in one shot, even without specials, giving them a combat advantage that magic does not have. What you've described is not double casting, its timing 2 spells so that they overlap. Its like saying a range / 2h combo is the same as the dark bow's special, or a dds, when in fact its not, its timing. With a DoubleCast, there would be less clicking, less timing, more "luck", like there is with other weapons.
  14. That is due to a timing delay in the animations of the different spell, and is not actually a DoubleCast. A DoubleCast would be two spells in quick succession that are the exact same.
  15. Um, no. If you want to look at it from a historical perspective, you'd have horses, or camels. Why are spears so effective? Look at the scene in Braveheart, when they're charging with a bunch of horses, and at the very last second, they pick up those incredibly long spears (twice the length of the longest man). Its the same concept of jousting, the longer your spear, the more advantage you had. Spears were not used in hand to hand combat. (Well, unless there was a phalanx but that isn't 1v1), And actually, swords were not used for stabbing or slashing. They didn't stay sharpened for long, after hitting armour a few times, they'd quickly be dulled. In fact, going up against a fully armoured knight, your best option would be to hit him from a far distance with a big stick (knock him out... not stab him), or use a long bow or a crossbow (from serious distance, serious ownage). If it was a knight against another knight, it'd be fight until knocking one down, and then jab a [bleep]e through their eye-hole, see Kingdom of Heaven. oh, and GF Dark_Aura, and a_local_guy. I suppose you win. :P
  16. could someone post that? It would be appreciated. If ancient magicks were not included in DoubleCast, or the staff did not have an autocast feature for them, would that make it more reasonable? I see that some responses were 60 in one hit is too much, but keep in mind that 60 would be as rare as it is to hit a 30, * as rare as it is to hit a 30, *.10, at the maximum level. I'd estimate this would leave it as 1/1000 or even less. Unless you're hitting someone with full rune, with cruddy mage defense, then it'd be closer to 1/40. -sees
  17. I have a level 90 - I'm not sure how long I stayed in a hotspot, but I gotta figure it was about 1 hour. I was maging someone who (foolishly) had on zammy shield, helm. Not sure about legs or plate, I don't think so. Anyhow, I wore him down to the point of no food, and then finished him in a hotspot. The drop I got was zammy legs - I was not risking much more than 50k. I think it has to do more with what they're wearing than Jagex'll admit.
  18. I just put in an order for 100 broken pickaxes, rune and adamant. I figure if they don't remove these from the game, we have another batch of rares brewing, and if they do fix them, I just got a good alch deal.
  19. So I can write a macro to get 99 smithing and mining, right? The mine there is the perfect setup.
  20. I believe scimitar will not be nerfed, and the specs of the current weapons will not be changed, unless there is a new RS release, like RS3. That is to say that Jagex will only add in weapons with different stats, to try and balance their game more. I think a weapon as fast as a whip, and as strong as a whip, but can train strength is needed. There needs to be some downside to this weapon though, it has to degrade, need sharpened, etc. Then the base will split between this weapon and the scimitar.
  21. Well, I didn't intend DoubleCast to help out F2P when I originally wrote it, but I suppose it could. (Actually I didn't want the thread being bogged down with "F2P should pay, so no DoubleCasting") Here's the link, its in the bugs and suggestions. viewtopic.php?f=37&t=781401
  22. What if that was placed as another circle by the minimap... so you'd have run, prayer, summoning, hitpoints, and special? Would be an appropriate place for that. And it would change colors when you equip a weapon that is able to use it, and you'd be able to use it without switching interfaces.
  23. It would hit up to the same amount that some range configurations can hit, without spec. Plus, there's no guarantee that this would hit 2x 30, as each is independent of each other.
  24. So, some people have stated that magic does not have the PKability of melee and range - and this is because the highest magic can hit is 32, with a costly staff and spell. I have yet to work out very specific details for this, but here is the basic premise (feel free to expand on this) A new staff would be introduced, or there would be some sort of process for blessing/enchanting an existing staff. All this could come as a new quest. Once you have this special staff, you now have a chance to cast doubles. DoubleCasting requires the same amount of runes you would normally need for 2 spells. The difference is that the spells come out in rapid succession. Each would hit with the same randomness of a normal cast. I looked at all the different combat spells from the normal and ancient spellbooks, and realized there would be a problem with DoubleCasting - hitting 2x30 in a 3x3 area, and binding your opponents for 20 seconds with Ice Barrage may be a bit over-powered. So how to combat this? With this new staff, you would have a base 1% chance of DoubleCasting - i.e. its very rare. Your magic level sans the spell requirement increases this chance. For instance, my magic level is 76. Fire Blast has a level requirement of 59. I have a 17 level difference. Take 1/3 of that, or about 6, and add it to my chance of DoubleCasting. So every time I cast Fire Blast, I have a 7% chance of DoubleCasting. But wait - that would leave someone with 99 magic a 2% chance of DoubleCasting Ice Barrage - or about once every 50 times. That's a bit low - so DoubleCast also takes into consideration the magic bonus. For every +10 magic bonus, the chance of DoubleCasting increases by 1%. This would mean someone with level 99 and Ahrim's would have about a 10% chance of DoubleCasting Ice Barrage. There's more though - This new staff has the ability of a special - this would force a DoubleCast, and it would use 75% of the bar. Both spells would hit a minimum of 10% of their max, so no splashing. Thoughts? Hate/Rate/Debate, also fill in or tweak anything that needs it. EDIT: would it be better if the ancient magics were left out of DoubleCasting? Would this then improve magic without making it over powered?
  25. Alright, so to keep with my OP - What should F2P not have gotten? What extra content did Jagex release to F2P that should have been members only? I hate sounding like a broken record, but this thread isn't about asking Jagex for more stuff. There's the "Why Can't F2P have .... !?" sticky for that. This thread is to debate the merits of things that F2P already have, things that Jagex were extra generous on, as well as things that P2P have now that would not ruin the F2P/P2P relationship if F2P got it. It is also about existing F2P content that is glitched, or in dire need of updating, because without updating it takes away from RS in general. OT: I think canoes are a good idea - how many members actually use those? I also think it's kinda weird for Jagex to give Teleblock, but they didn't make snare F2P. Gotta say though I can't wait for 85 magic!
