Armadyl Gear
Actually you should use falador. I looked it up and it gives like 30 defense bonus. 7 prayer>15 melee defense.

melee based slaying?
Proselyte only if you're using superhuman strength. Here's what I'd recommend: Helm: Black Mask/Slayer Helmet Cape: 99 Ranged Weapon: Saradomin Sword (for strength); Whip (for defense) Body: Torag's Shield: Rune Defender Legs: Verac's Gloves: Barrows Boots: Dragon Ring: Berserker You should always pray 10% strength. Naw, dragon sucks. Just get Torag/Dharok/Guthan chestplate and Veracs skirt. Dragon does not suck. It still has decent stats, despite the fact that there is better armor in the game. Dragon plate would work just fine. I slayed in dragon chain for a long time. If you have a dragon plate, use the hell out of it! If you are going to melee tasks I strongly suggest you invest in a slayer mask/helm. The bonuses are quite useful. Bandos is better in every imaginable aspect and is not much more expensive. Barrows has far superior defense bonuses though in some (not very many) situations the extra defense isn't worth the repair cost.

Blue Charms
Black demons>greater demons. Better charms, better melee xp, no wild dogs, less competition. It costs a bit at lower levels but then again you barely break even at greaters.

What's the best place to train combat nowadays?
Slayer isn't the fastest/best exp, but it is more fun and makes you money. Fun is subjective; and besides slayer is awful money, certainly far less than ghostly warriors or armored zombies. Skeleton gorillas, the ones people chin, are better xp than zombie monkeys.

Age old: Range, Warrior, Mage, Monk, or mixed?
Tank mage hybrid is the deadliest class in RuneScape.

Gilded Alter vs Ectofuntus Worship
^NO. Time is money; you cannot value time over time nor money over money. It depends on how much money per hour you can make; and judging from the general consensus that altars are better, the moneymaking requirement must be fairly low.

Armadyl Gear
This is RuneScape; what do you expect? Most level 50 members use granite mauls for training. Obby shield has a 60 defence requirement so (stupid) people assume that it is better.

Armadyl Gear
Then the armor/weapon market would be thrown into chaos.

Barrows
12 is best; get it on the crypt rats and bloodworms. Small profit is an understatement; the majority of your profit will come from the runes and bolt racks.

Range xp
Ogres or fire giants or something to 70, aviansies to 90, chins to 99.
-
Combat Spells
Fire wave aviansies. More profitable than metals though I don't know about the xp.
-
Armadyl Gear
No. Use a rune kite; it has better defence and a lower range attack penalty.

Barrows
Magic is more efficient than melee according to qeltar and DeviledEgg (aka compfreak), both of whom are experienced barrowers.

ranged training..
Aviansies and ape atoll skeletons are the best range training spots in the game. Yaks are awful, soul wars is awful, fire giants are awful.

Barrows
^YES! Few people realize the awesomeness of super energies at Barrows. Also you should bring super sets. Didn't notice that you didn't have them. And bring a second or maybe even a third prayer potion, and flash chivalry on Ahrim and Karil. Use a mix of pineapple pizzas and sharks instead of monkfish. I'm not so sure on the rune defender. It seems like it kills my magic attack, but I havn't actually used it to see how well I hit with it though... 11 mage attack is nothing. If you want to splash less, take my advice and use a Verac's brassard which only reduces mage attack by 6 compared to rune plate's 30.

Green dragon hunting
Thanks! I never knew food would take so much out of my total profit.. i better not waste too much. Although wouldn't it be better bringing pineapple pizzas because they are cheap and heal 22 hp? i will bring a shark or 2 in case a revenant comes, but otherwise eating in 2 bites shouldn't be a problem i think Don't listen to what he says, seriously. Kill them in the CT and use monkfish.

Barrows
Get a rune defender. Don't bother with range, just melee Ahrim. Fire wave>slayer dart. Verac's brassy>rune plate.

high level monsters to range with 73+ range?
What, a couple hours at most? Aviansies are the best range training spot in the game besides chinning at ape atoll.
-
high level monsters to range with 73+ range?
Aviansies aren't risky. Besides 60 strength is easy to get. It'll raise your combat level but you'll be able to train your range much more efficiently and that won't be a problem. :)

Mining Rune
Getting a full load in an hour is easy. I can get a full load in about 30 minutes in the Light Temple (full being the 22 spaces I have free when I'm mining there). So, I would say that if you use the Light Temple, about 12 hours. I've heard of similar rates at the wildy. Either way it's insane money.

Farming help
Orange/curry for cheap xp, as well as low level regular trees; not sure which is best out of those. For faster xp for much higher cost you can do pineapple or something. Obviously plant herbs for money.

high level monsters to range with 73+ range?
since his defence isn't ranked he would have to use pray and it would help to get it over 44 Beats the hell out of blue dragons to be sure. Besides at level 40 prayer you only use twice the prayer pots as level 99.
