Game female characters
I don't mind the short tops. I have tops in rl that look like that ...though they aren't terribly historically accurate. What I don't like is the way there is a dark line around your character's waist when wearing robes -- its like an odd belt. Though that's a minor complaint. My real issue is with the generally manly look of the girls..I understand why we are "flat," but I hate my character having such a manly body shape -- especially arms. I don't use sleeveless outfits because of the manly arms (and I didn't choose "muscly" arms.) Though I suppose with as much mining, smithing, woodcutting, etc. as a typical runescape character does, "manly" arms may be unavoidable.

~How long were you F2P for?~
I've been playing about a year; I was a nonmember for the first two months. I was happy as a nonmember. In two months, I certainly had not run out of things to do. I only switched to members when I did because the friend I had started playing with got a membership and then kept nagging me to get one too because he didn't like having to always switch to a nonmember world to play with me. I switched and was overwhelmed with all there was to do at first, but acclimated pretty quickly. On a relate note: If you played P2P for a while, what made you finally decide to go to P2P? Looking back, was that too soon, do you wish you'd done so sooner, or was it about right? I think I switched pretty early(especially since I don't play all that much and was about level 25 at the time), but I can't really see any disadvantage to having done so.

Girls in RuneScape
Eeww, eeww, eeww!! I have got a few comments like that. My favorite is, "You're hot." Right. Like you know what I look like. Do you assume I look like my character? Are you saving my character is hot? That's a bit creepy. My response to that is usually "Does your mother know you talk to girls like that?" I used to say, "And you must be about 12," but too many of them answered "No, I'm 13!" One time I got "Almost. I'm 11 1/2." Scary.

Cost effective way of training magic
At your level, I ran law runes and did Fally teleports till level 45, then switched to Camelot telports. If you run the law runes, this is almost free experience -- just the cost of the waters from 42 to 45. Wind blasts are also really cheap if you cat farm.

Best F2P food?
No. You start with a whole cake, take one bite. You now have a 2/3 cake. You take another bite and have a slice left. Then you eat the slice with the third bite.

Fremmy Isles.
You can do it easily. I still do not have your stats and I did it a few months ago. At the time, I believe I may have had 60 defense, but my attack and strength were like 60 or 61 and I had probably 40 range. My magic was 55 or so, but I didn't use it. The most important stat I had was 45 prayer. I used about 3 prayer pots. I tried to use melee on the group of trolls (a d long if I remember correctly) and did nearly die. I used a teletab and went back and ranged them and was stunned by how easy it was that way. The troll king was not hard at all -- I just kept protect from range on the whole time. As long as you have a decent prayer level, you'll be fine. My stats were far lower than yours (except magic , but then again I never used magic) when I did it and I didn't find it that bad. Honest.

Monday Poll: What caused your first Runescape death?
A cow killed me. I wouldn't believe it possible...but it happened to me.

Adiós, general shop merchanting.
Yes, but all of the things that you could buy at low prices were from player stock. Herbs, pure and regular essence, coal, uncut gems, and arrows were all true bargains whenever they appeared in any of the general stores. I'm sure there are more that I'm not remembering. I just bought a bunch of pure ess on Saturday for 1gp each --- that can't happen anymore. In fact, any item could be a bargain if there were enough of them in stock. When I was a new player, I made money buying iron platebodies from the Varrock General Store when they had a huge stock of them (which was fairly often) and then running across the street to sell them Horvik, buying them until the price went up to what Horvik would pay for them (about 335 gp if I remember correctly). I couldnt unload all of them on Horvik at once, but I'd then sell them 5 at a time over the next few days. It's a shame, but this will probably hurt lower-level players more because they seem to do more of this low-level merchanting. I know I will miss being able to occasionally find a bunch of pure ess or coal in a general store..now they will cost the market price, even in the general stores. It's a minor thing, really....but it was nice while it lasted.

Using potions to do hero's....
Are you sure there's not another level in a different skill that you're missing? I know that you can do that quest with a fishing level <53 because I did. I did the quest at level 50 or 51 fishing. I took an admiral pie with me and just ate half right before I started to fish. I didn't even need the whole thing. I still have the other half an admiral pie in my bank. I don't see why a fishing potion wouldn't work (assuming a fishing potion will get your fishing level to 53). Though Tip.It's guide doesn't mention using fishing potion or admiral pie, RuneHQ's guid does say that you can do the quest with a fishing level of 50 and a fishing potion. Something doesn't sound right.

Question about white berry
I've recently had slayer tasks of borh wolves (I did the Canfis people without the wolfbane -- they count) and cave crawlers. Both assignments were for about 150 each. I did not get any white berries with the Canifis werwolves. I got about 10 with the cave crawlers -- and they are far easier to kill. Just remember to take an antipoison with you. The cave crawlers also drop tons of herbs.

Obviously you are a guy.

20k to 1mil within 4 hours - can you do it?
I think I'll take the challenge---but I probably won't get an uninterrupted block of time to play until this weekend. It will be nice to try something different for a change. It seems like all I do lately is slayer (to level), craft nats (boring!), or fish (so I can do more slayer). If I make some money at this -- I'll be thrilled. If not, at least I've tried something different. Hopefully, since I won't get around to this until Saturday, there will be some tips posted before then. I have absolutely no idea where to start. I don't even sell the stuff I do make (nats, lobs, steel bars, etc.). I get my sister to do it because she's better at it than I am.

Online dating etc...
I wish I'd have seen him. I could have taken his 10k and then used part of it to go to the makeover mage and turn into a man. Then I could follow him around asking him why he didn't love me anymore.

How do i get trading sticks.
I know it sounds strange, but I collected over 600 sticks this way in about 1/2 hour this weekend and traded them in for villager robes and sandals. I was crafting nats and noticed them hanging around the fairy ring. I killed one of them just to see what it would drop. When I saw it dropped trading sticks, I killed a few more to get 100 so I could get sandals -- just to see if it would work -- and it did. I then proceeded to kill enough to get both pieces of the villagers robes (pink, of course). Anything to get more new clothes! Of course now that I have them, I'm not so sure I like they way they look -- it's a shame you can't try clothes on first.

How do i get trading sticks.
I honestly think the fastest way is to kill the whatever monsters it is that linger around the fairy ring nearest to the nature rune altar. I think they are level 28 hobgoblins, but I'm not sure. They drop like 10-30 trading sticks each...and yes, you can use those and not bother with any of that other getting favor stuff and trade them. Much easier.

New member
I would also add doing at least enough of Fairy Tales Part II to access the Fairy Rings - invaluable when doing Slayer.

Online dating etc...
I used to think this phenomenon was limited to low-level players that didn't stray to far from Lumbridge. I was wrong. Yesterday, I was doing a slayer assignment (pyrefiends for the record) and a level 70-something starts the following conversation: Him: Hi Me: Hi Him: You dong slayer too? Me: Yeah, I have about 90 left Him: Wow, that's a lot. (Pause of about 30 seconds.) Him: Will you be my gf? Me: What? Him: Will you be my gf? Me: Why would I want to be the online gf of someone I do not know? Him: Why not? Me: Changes worlds

Dogs in Varock=NOT ANIMAL ABUSE
I've been told I'm "cruel" and "heartless" by more than one person for selling cats for deaths. One of them was horrified that I don't bother to name the cats.... I feel so evil.

Was I in the wrong?(edited to include a reply to my apology)
I'm not going to weigh in on whether or not you did something wrong. I think both sides have been well represented. What I am going to point out is that your assumption that you could tell if this person was a drop trader by checking his stats is mistaken. Even if he had had no scores in the high scores, you cannot assume he drop traded. I happen to play quite a bit with my younger sister. She is not in the high scores (level 20-ish with no skill above 20 that I know of). She plays mostly to socialize because many of her friends play. However, because she is my sister and I can afford to, she has plenty of expensive items. Furthermore, she often sells items (like nats) that she can't craft herself for me because I hate to do it. I let her keep a percentage of the price as a fee -- she gets some easy income which doesn't feel like charity to her and I get to avoid selling (which I loathe). Under your logic, however, you would refuse to trade with her, assuming she was a drop trader. Hopefully, you would not report her :)

Mage
Wind Blasts. 25.5 xp per gp (base xp + more xp for the spells that hit) if you have some fish you don't want in your bank. Buy a kitten from Gertrude (100 gp). Let it follow you around for a few hours until it becomes a cat (cost - a few low level fish). Trade it to a "civilian" in West Ardougne for 100 deaths. (This assumes you have done the Biohazard quest) 100 deaths + air staff = 100 nearly free wind blasts. Maybe not the fastest xp, but *very* cheap. Before you do the wind blasts, stop at Gertrude's in Varrock for a new kitten. Keep the kitten with you while you do the wind blasts. You'll run out of wind blasts before the kitten is grown (no system is perfect!), but kitten farming (!) makes for some VERY cheap xp.

There's a hole in my pocket, and it lead to jagex
College students drink beer??? College students can be alot older than 21???????!!! What?! Why are those slackers still in school at 21? I *was* kidding, in case it wasn't clear. Although I wasn't 21 until a few months before I graduated, there are a lot of college students that are 21 or *gasp* even much older.

There's a hole in my pocket, and it lead to jagex
I have to admit that I am almost afraid that Jagex will read posts like these and realize that even though Runescape is quite a moneymaker for them, it could be an even bigger one. Compared to other leisure activities we spend money on, it is a relative bargain. I just hope that Jagex doesn't decide to change that. I pay $5 (U.S. dollars) per month for membership. This gives me the ability to play the game for as many hours as I want for one month. The last time I went to a movie (and it may have gone up since then) it was $9 for a two-hour movie. Even matinees, student tickets, and second-run films are at least $5. A coffee drink at a place I go far too often and will not mention by name is nearly $5. A hot pretzel and drink at the mall food court is $5. All of those things are gone in minutes. I think a month of Runescape is a far better value -- though I admit I spend money on all of them. I am not wealthy by any means, but I am employed full time at a "grown-up" job. I think that most people (and I am speaking for those of us who earn our own money) have a certain amount of of discretionary income. I feel that compared to other forms of entertainment, a Runescape membership provides a lot more for $5 than most other options. That's just my opinion -- but then, that's why I will continue to pay for it. I am sure that there are others that would enjoy that $5 more if it were spent elsewhere and if they feel that way (and that is certainly a valid opinion) then they should spend money on what matters to them. If $5 per month is truly financially difficult, however, I think it is imprudent to be paying for membership -- F2P isn't THAT bad!

You do not have to use your Runescape character's name as your username -- you can keep the two separate if you like.
