  1. I'm in agreeance to be honest. I don't think it's fair to tarnish someone after many years of conviction so publically. Something I definitely take a stance against. Unless he's proven to be a risk right now, which I doubt, I don't think it was fair nor appropriate. It's no worse than a tabloid paper such as the Sun digging up old dirt to tarnish someone. If the Sun were providing said someone support so its readers viewed their site, and looked at them as a positive source? Then yeah, if they were to pull that support upon finding out new information on that someone - they need to tell people. Then it would just look like Jagex is playing the bully and removing support to keep everyone in line or some nonsense. Some people here will find a way to spin it, for sure.
  2. They didn't need to do this publicly. They could have entered into private negotiations concerning the matter as Tip.it had done to gain it's platinum status. From there they might've worked out a possible solution that kept it all quiet. Jagex acted in a hamfisted manner, as usual. I don't think they should have been the ones trying to negotiate. It's plain and simple, the guy's had a serious histroy - no matter what way you look at it. This isn't going to turn his life upside down, in any way. Unless RuneVillage was his life, and in that case I feel sorry for him. But everything else can go on as normal. And sorry Fire, that's just an ignorant and uneducated post.
  3. If they didn't notify us as to why it was removed from support, you'd get another [cabbage] Jiblix style story, only having one side.
  4. ...Fifteen years ago. This is one of the problems with society. People are always trying to hold others' mistakes above their heads, no matter how long ago those mistakes occurred. At some point in time, an individual should be allowed to live and operate without whatever they did in the past constantly throwing the proverbial dark cloud over their head. Yes, but in this case we, along with Jagex, know the details. He's not some victim of changing laws. He did some stuff that was clearly very, very immoral. And I'm fine with this coming back to bite him the ass. I don't mesh with pedophiles. Keep in mind, he isn't just a sex offender, he clearly engaged in acts of storing and transfering child pornography. I'm not saying we should chase pedophiles with pitchforks and torches... ... I'm typing it. On another note, I'm gonna leave this thread. I have trouble staying calm talking about pedophiles and I don't need a suspension. Chasing him with pitchforks and torches? Really? He did the crime. He acknowledged he was wrong. He did his time. Ever since, he's apparently been working to piece his life back together. Why should he continue to be reminded of something he did 15 years ago? Everyone makes mistakes; no one wants those mistakes to be constantly lorded over them for the rest of their life and he most certainly shouldn't be subjected to the unbridled hate of people who think he shouldn't be allowed to live any kind of normal life. As it is, this guy didn't deserve to be 'called out' like that by Jagex. That's [cabbage]d up in so many ways. Apparently, Jagex seems to believe that he's still a danger. If they didn't, why else would they call him out like this? The chances are still there that he could be a danger. You don't 'change', no matter what - you just get better at not getting caught. No matter how much you punish someone, it won't change who they are and how they work.
  5. I have a cash pile, but not wlling to take a 400M loss! I did that for Herblore, certainly not going to do it for Construction. :P Plus, that would require me to do some quests.
  6. I'm 59 Construction. Wouldn't mind getting 99 - I have the cash. No idea how to go about it, though. I'm really not much of a Skiller, sadly.
  7. This isn't true, D_V. I'm certain that it's related to the cache/cookies or w/e - or at least some form of change that's been made since they last logged in as a member. I don't block their adverts, but they don't appear for me. I know after I've cleared all of my cookies, cache and history, etc. it gives me the advert at the top. I know I've seen it a few times within the past year or so, but after logging in once it corrects itself.

I'd have no problem trying to play it on the Wii. The whole point of it is to be free, as it already is. That alone is going to encourage people to give it a shot.

The cross-platform issue completely went over your head. There's a fair few examples of games on pc and ONE console that can interact, there's no qualms about that. The cross platform issued raised in the article is specifically about between consoles; nintendo, microsoft and sony won't allow their consoles to interact with other brands of console. A nintendo game can interact with Wii and DS users, but not with xbox or ps A playstation game can do ps and psp but not xbox or wii or ds An xbox game can do xbox, but not wii, ds, ps or psp Oh, someone jumped the gun a bit mouch there, eh? Apparently I mis-read, but that's not crime. No need to reply with a [cabbage] post like that in the future - cheers! I'm capable of picking up a mistake myself. This is essentially them starting as they aim to go on. They don't have to only launch with all three consoles. They could simply launch with Sony, at some stage other companies might see the sense in it. It didn't go "Over my head", I just read it differently: If was 3am. Nor was I aware of other games which are cross-platform at this time. It's a game using the basics behind the worlds on Eve and bringing a whole new element to it, an FPS. Being developed by the same company, it can only serve to make the current, vehicle-based game more dynamic. An MMOFPS on this scale, cross-platform and all that jazz hasn't been seen before. It's not j copying the current game, but bringing a whole new element to it that will invite a lot more players who rather console gaming over PC. It's a Sony exclusive due to the limitations with Microsoft, "The main reason why we couldnt go with Xbox 360 was the Xbox Live system; [...] when we wanted to introduce this game in the same environment as Windows PC it had to be PS3, so that was our choice. Microsoft has a different point of view: they want to have a closed environment for Xbox Live. [...] We couldnt come to an agreement on Xbox Live." <- This point is also applicable to why Jagex can't bring RuneScape to the Xbox, because not only will they not allow cross-console, but not cross-platform. "EVE Online, a massively multiplayer space simulation with a vast economy and thousands of star systems where player-controlled corporations and pirate clans are constantly trying to expand their influence. Through a little bit of cross-platform, cross-genre wizardry, the PlayStation 3 shooter Dust 514 will be tightly integrated with the overall events that transpire in the PC-only EVE Online."

Hmm, that news is rather odd. There's already a game in development for the Ps3 that's going to be cross-platform; Dust 514 ( http://forum.tip.it/topic/298325-dust-514-mmofps/ ). That will be able to interract with PC users in the same 'New Eden' server. So it's odd that they would say they wouldn't in this, and then do the complete opposite. Unless they're just not telling you all something. ;)
  11. Not going to lie, the F2P grandexhange was littered with just that. It's a shame to hear it had spread to P2P too, but I guess that's to be expected. Can you shed any light on the trade cap removal? It's not the same at all on P2P worlds. They are free from ad bots, for the most part. Bots are still here, yes. But the GE is spam-free. Everything is, as-it-was, in 2007. I.e Wilderness has returned as has Free Trade. Bounty Hunter and the like are gone. I'm not giving you a run-down of updates, they are already available at your finger-tips: http://services.runescape.com/m=news/list.ws
  12. Delete your cache from your system, that's all I had to do. And do a force refresh on the page and RuneScape worked perfectly.
  13. I'd presume only the people who we are better off without in the community would leave. Everyone else still hasn't gotten through the vast amount of content available for them. Yeah, they'll slowly grow bored but it will be nothing over night. People that QQ about every update and continue to play will thankfully go, I'm sure. Or, would they?
  14. Indeed, as mentioned above it was a jail. Before you could go in it, now you can not. It looks pretty, though.
  15. Being a customer and purchasing a product from a company and pointing out its flaws is one thing. You wearing that companies logo which there are several thousand others wearing, I'm sure, and telling others essentially to vote for a different product is a completely different story. Not only are you making your 'team' of logo-wearing volunteers look bad, but your running down the company itself. It would be different if you weren't volunteering for them and had a 'team' of people who are of the same status as you. This wasn't a constructive video, providing opinions on how it can be stopped or detailing the positives.

  17. I've no sense of real life experiences when it comes to volunteering? Such poor judgement. Please show me how volunteering as a Player Moderator; having a 'crown' and abilities regular users don't have (The use of a mute for players breaking rules) is the same as many real life positions. Especially where you're in a community where you can be interacting with hundreds of people at the same time, who all recognise your position. If you want to criticise those whom you're volunteering with, you won't be wearing your name badge and a hat which points you out from the rest of the crowd in pointing out issues you have. You'll raise those matters privately with them and not host it in a public domain. You're seeing this whole thing from one point of view; that of the volunteer player. You're missing the other side. There's always two sides to every story. They're within their right to remove your name badge and hat because they are giving you that position as a privilege (See it was what you wish.) And if you don't think it's a privilege to be offered the position, please take a look again at the community and the thousands of people who would love to be given the chance.
  18. And right there you've shown how far you're missing the point. You get paid to wear a logo and put a smile on your face when working in a kitchen. No one gets paid to moderate on here or on the RSOF (to the best of my knowledge). If I'm taking up a position voluntarily, the person I'm giving my labour to for free can just be damn grateful for the privilege, not the other way round. For the matter, there's been plenty of incidents where staff members have criticised the Admins on this forum in recent history, but none have had their ranks removed for it. Most of the members I have in mind left themselves. They don't get paid by cash, of course, but they're left with a status on their account which essentially represents the company whenever they speak or post on the forum. Voluntary or not, if they don't like the company they shouldn't have taken on board the position. If they did, and dislike the company and complain about it they deserve to be removed. And I'm not quite sure if you get it. You don't have to have that position. It's moreso a privilege to be asked. There's plenty more people out there wanting that position who aren't going to create uproar. There has been differing opinions on here, sure, but that's rarely with regard to how things are done. Anything like that always should be kept between them and the administrators.
  19. Frustrated at the attention? Or laughing at the foolishness of the masses to follow something like this and back it up with a "riot". I'm far from jealous or frustrated. It matters because there's a discussion that was created for it, you know, to discuss.
  20. If you're getting every bit as hysterical as the misinformed people does that make you any better than the people you're upset with? I'm getting hysterical, or simply trying to inform and correct? It reads more likely that you're here to misdirect and obfuscate -- really. Nobody's said that anything about what Jiblix has done as "groundbreaking" or "illuminating" -- the point is that one of the "faithful" has taken a stance about botting -- made further commentary about it -- and, as a result, has been defrocked. Just because you've got personal issues with Jiblix, it doesn't mean his point wasn't well-made. It wasn't well made. If I wanted to see bots I could do it myself. There's nothing new, at all. And there's other people saying that he's after "Uncovering the truth" and Jagex have been trying to "Cover up" the bot problem. How [bleep]ing stupid can some people be, seriously? And then for the attitudes of people like you. Jiblix is nothing but an attention [bleep]. He did it until he became a Moderator, and obviously the attention he was receiving must have died down so he needed to relight that fire. As BioIce said: "For someone who loved and thrived in attention, becoming a "martyr" is hardly surprising. Nothing more enjoyable than to be talked about gaining even more fame and notoriety. You have to admit, he has put an uncomfortable focus on botting and whether Jagex deserves the Golden Joystick this time around while getting his kicks from the whole thing." This isn't a personal problem, this is actually knowing what's going on - knowing what you don't know, Blyaunte. I'm not mis-directing at all. People are taking this case as if he's a good guy and is suddenly being punished... When that couldn't be further from it. Tell me -- if the point wasn't well-made, then why demote him? Why not just ignore him and let it die away slowly? Why allow someone who you've given a certain position to voluntary [cabbage]-talk you, when you don't have to allow it? As was said here earlier. If a Moderator on this forum was to start [bleep]ing about the Administrators on the forum, they wouldn't remain a Moderator very long, would they? If you were a chef, and I gave you my logo to wear with other privileges, I wouldn't leave them with you on your kitchen show if you're [bleep]ing about my company.
  21. I should be the one explaining? Not at all. Quite honestly I don't give a hoot if you are all so keen on following in a strangers footsteps so easily. I'm just setting some things straight. Things aren't always as they seem.

  23. Yes, and bringing up a players name without their permission can be seen as black listing. It would probably also depend on where you posted this, it could be in a thread regarding his position which is entirely between Jagex and him.
  24. If you're getting every bit as hysterical as the misinformed people does that make you any better than the people you're upset with? I'm getting hysterical, or simply trying to inform and correct? I'm not willing to get into an argument with you, we all know where they go.
