  1. Exactly what I was saying above...Yo bud, why don't you refrain from making statements that apparently come from Jagex? They're always [cabbage]!
  2. Iddison era sources don't count though because he did a crap load of game ruining money maker schemes they they complete back pedalled and tore out after getting rid of him rather quickly. I mean he was only there for like a year! And of that year the most notable thing would of been the gnomecoptor advertising and the other become a member! things from clicking members stuff in f2p. That's certainly true. While I believe MMG has better intentions and cares more for the game itself than Iddison ever did, however, I don't think he'll pass on the opportunity to generate more revenue through micropayments if he believes he can implement them without too much backlash from the community. So long as they only offer cosmetic items (at least in the beginning), I believe there's a possibility that Jagex will be able to get away with it. This is all assuming that they intend to introduce micropayments, of course, and I sincerely hope I'm mistaken. I don't have a source because Iddison was replaced years ago. 'Not the easiest thing finding an old source when you're not quite sure where to even start looking. Sorry Rien, that wasn't aimed at you. I was applying that statement to what 3Hitu was saying, not you. It's always a case from said person that "Jagex said this", when there's never any proof to back it up and it generally never happens. My apologies, ily Rien. And [bleep] yes, thanks for the quote above clarifying that it's not micro-transactions.
  3. That underlined/bold is exactly what they want to do, they've mentioned it loads of times before. Really? I've never heard them mention it before, care to link me a source? I don't have a source, but I believe Jagex once considered implementing micropayments under Iddison's lead. He can never provide sources to what Jagex supposidly say, funny. What you believe and what's actually going on, are more often than not completely different.
  4. I agree with this. Actually that's not at all a bad idea.
  5. Eh...loyalty rewards? If this is something you earn by doing something in-game, that's okay...But [bleep] if I'm expected to fork out money to obtain these 'loyalty points'...Then wow.
  6. It's not legally yours, so a legal document in relation to this is foolish if you think it will hold any weight. That's like going out and renting a car, knowing that you have very little time left to live so putting that car in your will. It's not legally yours so you can't legally transfer ownership of it, because you never owned it. And I don't know, I think it would be pretty sick (Not sick in the "Cool" sense, just disturbing) to be playing on the account of someone you knew who has been deceased..."Hey Tom!", "Oh no Tom died, I am his son..."...Awkward moment?
  7. I'm not referring to the bots. But rather people expecting things to just happen at the drop of a hat. They need to expect things to take time before a permanent, less demanding and more obvious solution is implemented.
  8. Read a few posts, most are going along the same line... The simple fact is that it is making an impact, maybe not something most of you realise but it is. Not majorly impacting on those who are there to simply advance in their stats, but it is working against the on-going battle against RWT companies. You'll find after a short session that there every world at the green dragons, etc. will be completely clean of bots. I'm really not interested in swaying the opinions of people on here, because many have it dead-set in their mind that everything done is PR related and nothing serious is actually being done. Well, believe what you wish, each to their own and all that jazz. They're not turning into any kind of Communist Dictatorship, that's just stupid. Oh well. Slow and steady wins the race, there's no miracles waiting around the corner. Patience is a virtue.
  9. I don't think that applies to runescape. Sorry, but it does, entirely. That post and Kaida23's post are perfect analogies of what's going on here. It's taking something on RS and applying the same mindset as if it were real life, which is exactly the debate. There's no point in shooting it down just because it's a game. That person playing Castle Wars to win is investing their 20 minutes (Or is it 25?) of hard work to try and earn the win to secure tickets to reap the rewards. You, and many like you choose not to earn it but expect the finished product anyway and laugh at people who oppose you. The smug attitude you've given off is enough to portray that perfectly when you say how others around you speak of your activities in these games. Not only is it visible in Castle Wars, but in Pest Control it's much the same case that a large group of people will take a loss due to the ignorance and laziness of others who secure the 50 points necessary and laze about watching T.V. for the rest of it. Why the [bleep] are you playing a game if you don't actually enjoy it? How [bleep]ing stupid is that? Stop trying to benefit of others...It's just like people who choose not to seek work but claim benefits from the government; granted, on a much, much lesser scale, barely comparable but the same idea still applies. Some of the attitudes of people playing (Are they even "playing" it anymore?) nowadays I just despise.
  10. I can't say RuneScape is becoming too social...While a lot more of this is becoming visible. As stated above, Name Changing brought along a lot of this...Alongside no filter it's become quite a haven for the behaviour. But it's not as if it's becoming an epidemic, it's just become the norm, for many. There are many people with relationships that are further than RuneScape itself; they take place in the real world (Yes, that one!) but those two people happen to also enjoy the same thing. I've seen it time and time again. And any talk of soliciting, etc. is a breach of the rules. Sexually-orientated talk, etc. can still be reported, just as before. People just choose to ignore it, because that's what they've become accustomed to. You see it as not acceptable, but put yourself in a position with the intentions to see it. You can always report it, and that will cut down on the number of people soliciting, etc. Not that I really care for it... I'm not one to take kindly to people asking for a bf/gf in-game, etc. But people who are in a relationship choose it, and in many cases it is beyond RuneScape, thus beyond our control.
  11. I'm good glitch finder. Just chillin'.
  12. Sounds more like you are trying to flame someone else for scamming, rather than attempting to scam. Not against the rules last time I checked. And newb, I have two things to say to you: A) Jagex should draw a line as to what is flooding the chatbox and what is not. I made sure to never have more than 1 line in the chatbox at once, in the 2 pictures I posted, the one in game I have my chat on friends, so it only appears that way for me, and in the other one it only shows what I said and what the person who reported me said. Also, do you not have barrows gloves :o? No flaming, im just curious as I always see you rocking a regen with torva :P And yes, I was well aware I could be muted, but I also made sure I did not break any rules where I would deserve one, according to jagex's standards. 6. What is flooding the chat window? Spamming/flooding the chat window is to fill the chat window with unnecessary text. This is an offence and is disruptive and unfair on other players, as it makes it more difficult for them to communicate and trade with each other. From the rules. You stated it is only one line in the chat box, but even that is going to cause a disruption if you are to repeat yourself so many times. It is really unnecessary, I'm afraid. No Barrows Gloves, no. Regeneration Bracelet all the way.
  13. • Should Jagex ban gambling Yes, most definately. The fact there are so many out there to scam alongside the apparent "Legit" ones should be reason enough to shut it down. • Should Jagex legalize gambling? No, they shouldn't condone it at all. • What do you think should be done about the means of gambling? They should be removed, there's really no real reason to have a Dice in the game, or things like that. People who are taking part and advertising should receive infringements on their account and dealt with in an appropriate manner. Money making rackets like this should not be allowed to exist, it is creating a very unstable foundation and is rapidly growing...It can not possibly become safe, so it should be removed entirely. Soupy17, as honest as you may have been trying to be...Pretending to auto typer is a problem. Yes, you're not using a bot, but you are being disruptive to the free flowing chat around you. It is never seen as necessary to repeat yourself the amount of times you did, you were basically asking to be muted. What you were doing is disruptive behaviour, and the potential to scam is always there so that's another strike. A tad off topic, one of these clans now has me on their ignore list...For no clear reason. Yes, you call yourself legitimate, I can state otherwise.
  14. Do you want to write a comic to go with that, PYR0? "The Backyard Adventures of PYR0 And Co. ; This week they let their imagations take them into the world of gangs, where they will engage in turf wars and hire crooked cops! Stay Tuned!"
  15. At this stage it's not about godfather-like conspiracies, simply immature people trying to play gangster in their fantasy worlds.
  16. Mew2, I knew I recognised your name... From "back then", and when you got in touch in more recent months. We haven't actually spoken, apart from sharing merchanting information for a few days. That's as far as it went. I am amazed at the responses in this thread, and this absolute joke of a "clan" and "our turf" that I'm reading. So laugh-out-loud worthy. I'm almost certain, unless you provide proof (LOL!) that no J-Mod is going to condone your behaviour, let alone come at your request to mute competitors. Things don't work like that. Funnily enough I just so happened to stumble upon world 22 Edgeville, thanks for the heads up. EDIT: On topic, for Jive. While I completely disagree with any form of activity like this, it is a disgrace to think that a Player Moderator is acting on their behalf. I do recommend you find yourself another activity to take part in to gather money, as this one is risky.
  17. To save myself some extra work, my replies are bolded underneath yours. It has since worked fine in the F2P General Discussion thread, the 200M in all skills? thread, 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion thread, the Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!, and so on. Pictures Thread: Yes, of course it works fine. Because people creating one thread for every picture is absurd. Likewise with posting a thread for every Video, and Sound. F2P General Discussion, if I remember rightly (And now after taking a peak at the opening page), wasn't created to compact the threads related to it under one heading, but simply to invite more people to discussion. That's because largely many other threads are P2p. 200M in all skills is the same - Likewise with the above, was created to generate discussion on the possibilities of said topic. That's what they've done, and that has been largely maintained and revolved around that? Rare item discussion thread...That goes along the same line. That was created so people could keep up tabs on "Hot items" (Taken from the original post itself). That's basically what has happened. It's on-going because those items are still hot. For those threads, content has largely focused around the main topic. Not swaying very far. But from what has been proposed...That's taking a broad range of topics revolving around the one large topic, throwing them into the one and expecting people to discuss them in a civilised manner. It really is a completely different situation. All the more reason to trial a central place to discuss it and see if the community is more receptive to it. Because isn't the hostility and the posts that toe the line for removal more damaging to discussion, in the end? Personally I think it is. Yes, you are right...But those actually wanting to discuss it shouldn't have an object put in their way because others choose to be hostile. Them people have to expect not to be let away scott-free and be more mature. I don't think this is a real solution. That's simply untrue, and proven as such by the previous examples listed. There is a historical precedence to support at least trying this. And if it does start to hamper discussion, there are two large chunks of time to compare it to (ie a month before the condensing, and a month after condensing) to see if there has been any decline in deep discussion. The previous examples listed will never change...People are going to continue debating over item prices, who's going to be first to max, etc. And in those threads there's pages upon pages to support that. I don't see the activity of General Discussion decreasing at all as a result of trying anything different to how we are now. But if there was, that again is easy to see and all the more reason to revert such a change if need be. I personally don't see it as a lazy way, easy way, or anything of the sort...just an attempt to see what the community wants in order to make it the best place it can be. In reality, activity has decreased. I don't know whether or not I've changed some settings which changed how many topics on a page...But I'm seeing threads from over 10 days ago on the front page. Before it was very active. The whole point of what you (Not you personally) are trying to do is to stop what people will call "Legitimate" threads being pushed off the front page. If they go to the second page, that means people are finished discussing them. A poll is not a concrete 100% decider for what action will be taken. Like this discussion, it's simply another piece of information to help the staff weigh in on a decision. And a detailed discussion, such as the one we're having now, is (in my eyes) x10 more valuable and has a greater impact on decisions than simple numbers alone. Yes I agree, it is not a concrete decider but simply having those numbers displayed is going to deter people from voicing their own opinions; for or against.
  18. I mean the obvious botting threads or posts that have been plauging users for months at a time. (and more, I just can't be bothered to fit them all into a witty demonstrative sentence) Just because they don't bother you in particular does not mean it's responsible to ignore the extremely large amount of users irritated by this occurance. And mind you, this was from the general discussion forum alone. These debates have been spilling all across the Runescape section. Having a concentrated thread to direct discussion to enables the staff to better manage this hydra-like trend and help a large portion of the community unhappy with this trend enjoy the board more. And the more people enjoy the environment, the better the posting environment will be for everyone. So everyone profits. Not just those who are unhappy with things as they stand. There is no reason not to try this method, especially when it's so easily reversed as saying, "you're no longer restricted to just one thread" if it doesn't happen to work out. Looking at those threads you've merely highlighted alone, I can't imagine how people would be expected to actively discuss such topics in the one thread. These threads aren't actually causing a disturbance, people are simply choosing to take a much greater notice and become far more hostile towards them. I'm enjoying the board with them, just as much as I would have without them. Actually, probably even more now. Because there's a wide range of people who are interested in the vast amount of things to discuss, many who pose interesting opinions... Take, for example the thread which highlights WoW's method to combat bots. If that was simply stuffed into one single thread, no serious discussion would have taken place. People wouldn't have been bothered to look and discover that such is possible. Not everyone is unhappy, many simply have chosen to take a more vocal stand against them by bashing the threads that are created. You don't see the people as being the problem though, basically their actions are being justified because there are other topics which are bot-related. I think it's an easy way out and missing the bigger picture. More topics should be welcomed, not compressed. But anyway there's little reason I see to bother voicing against things, polling has already swayed to show the favourite. Personally I think this should have been discussed before adding a poll.
  19. Exactly my opinion, completely unfair to force people to discuss it in a thread that's going to simply get overlooked in time...All because a handful of people dislike having to read the other threads (As if they are being forced to read them...!). I think it's a poor way to go about doing things. Give people an inch and they'll take a yard.
  20. I remember it was in December '06 when I decided to get membership.. I had previously been fishing in Karamja. When I updated my account status to members I returned to Draynor... Grabbed some coins and made my way to Karamja...Going through those gates was quite something...A whole new world had opened up entirely. Finding the docks and ending up in Catherby I think? That's where I remember best, anyway. Then going to Catherby to fish with the other members...Seeing someone wearing a set of H.A.M clothing and that's where my friendship with the first member I had interacted with began. We are still good friends, however he is not on so much since joining the Israeli Army two/three years ago. :(
  21. Personally I see no reason for a change. People post things to be discussed, that's the point. Everything a user brings up deserves to be discussed in its own area; it shouldn't have to be thrown in with everything it may be "Related" to. If someone wants to discuss sometjhing specific regarding bots, they should have the freedom to do so. I fail to see why people are so ignorant and go into these threads just to say "Not another botting thread...!" if they don't like it, they don't have to read it! Who the hell cares if there are too many, those threads are created by users who feel that it requires discussion. If a thread's posted, which is bot-related but essentially has nothing to discuss, that should be treated the same as all threads with nothing to discuss. Perhaps even get moved to Questionnaires. I find it unfair to throw every single thread together into the one, and force users to discuss things that way. That will most likely end up in content not being read and most likely only invite the trolls in.
  22. Eh, I see it as completely irrelevant for the staff to have to physically play the game to keep things under control on a forum. Do you forget that you're actually expected to be mature? You shouldn't have to be policed - but it's something anyone can do; whether or not they play a game related to it isn't necessarily. They don't need to know what the f*** they're on about...And people shouldn't be trolling, no matter how it's put. Don't spew that nonsense that Moderators are misconstruing information/opinions to be trolling, that's a childish excuse. Who says their input isn't valid? You? LOL! Who let the comedian out of the bag? I'm happy with the staff we have currently, mind you. They are a great team of people and a pleasure to work with. They should step down? Or some of the mouthy users should step back? Ah, I think the latter. Along with many, many others. Certain kids are ruining this community, which was once a great place. They know who they are. Not naming any names, though. Enough of the school-yard [cabbage] from most people...They need to grow up or get out. Oh and in before the broken-record "You're a rank and suck up to people", DERP we've heard that story before, too, Mr. Green. When mods take it upon themselves to go spy in a forum where they are clearly not welcome and then punish people in THEIR OWN forum for stuff that gets said in that OTHER forum, that is clearly crossing a line. It's especially bad because, in this particular instance, the mod in question twisted the facts to suit himself. I'm not really interested in getting into small details, but those who are involved, who have created a bit of a storm deserve what they get. And spying? This isn't the CIA. Get real. I do have more to say, but as said not interested to get into any debate like that. TIF has seen enough.

  24. Hiya Cowboy, your time and dedication has come very far...The pixel signatures are looking brilliant, keep up the good work.
