  1. Thoughts of this update have made my unbelievably happy.
  2. Wow, exciting kick to 2011! Looks mighty fine! :)
  3. I like the tralier and the graphics. Most trailers you see for games, just like this, aren't actual in-game footage. You all know that, why are you trying to bash this video? It doesn't make sense. So what if they didn't slap, in tiny print...in an area of the screen you're not going to look...."Not actual in-game footage". Who cares? It will be in-game footage, sometime in the future. Why not look forward at things to come?
  4. It's not the P-Mod forums.
  5. Mod Valkryie posted on the Swedish forums (Translated the forum): "Latest news: You will have the opportunity to vote "no" tomorrow :))
  6. After opening the voting page...thinking it looked dodgey and re-clicking the original link from www.runescape.com...I was amazed to find only a "Yes" option. Oh well, yes it is. :D
  7. Funny to have seen all the nay-sayers saying he was full of BS on the other thread. I'm truly...amazed? Not something I would have expected, if I'm honest. Yeah, debating the issue and pondering the idea...but...now?. Haha, I'm excited. :D
  8. I'll do in 2011 what I have been doing for the previous few years. Not setting goals, taking things as they come and doing whatever I want that provides fun; no pointless grinding. So yeah...bring on another year of bankstanding (World 99, Edgeville) and Stealing Creations!

After reading some of this thread... and listening to some of the music posted...P.O.S has become a new favourite. I've also put GZA & B.o.B onto my iPod, and have refrained in reading...and listening..further as to save some space! Some of it's just too good.
  10. My original name, "Carl Dublin" came simply from my own name -- Carl -- and the city I live in -- Dublin. I then changed, back in March, to "Newb", as it was an available name...just because I could.
  11. Most of the words people use nowadays don't bother me, apart from being called a "Kid" by a...kid. I see it so often now that I've stopped caring, for the most part, but there's still that "*Facepalm*" feeling when one uses the word.
  12. The people who have been getting reset, though, have also been issued bans. Back when it was happening in mid-October, everyone who had been reset received a permanent ban. The same will probably happen in this case; at some stage they'll all be knocked down. And I've no reason to "Think" about people who claim they didn't bot - their word against Jagex's, sure, but Jagex is more than likely on the spot.
  13. You should have absolutely no reason to be worried about your account if you didn't bot. I don't know why you would.
  14. Oh wait. Then realise that ultimately these accounts are still going to face a ban. There's no second chance given.
  15. Interesting conversation you two had. Personally - living is something one just does. I don't expect much from it. As it is, we all spend until we're around the age of 18 in school. You then move on to college, if you wish, until you're in your 20's. You get a job. You spend your life working in that job or jobs around that area to fund just living. You reach ~65 and no longer work. You're not really free to do the things you once were able to. You grow old, you die. Basically, life is just getting educated to work to fund your life and a simply death. Nothing impressive, nothing "Wow", nothing that would make me appreciate it anymore. As others have said, they live for the "Now", as do I. I could get hit by a bus tomorrow.
  16. That's exactly what I was thinking when I read the title. Rather than what I would want to bring from the past, I would rather put myself back there -- when I first began. Just earlier when I logged on it was a pleasure to think of what it used to be, how amazing everything was and the complete awe one felt when traveling to places you've never been. What we all can't wait to get past, we long to have back. To add to the above post; the General Store. It was so amazing. I remember going from the bank to there with my money in-hand, waiting to snatch any gems (When I was a F2p'er several years ago) as they were thrown in. It was like fastest finger first, and nice things were often thrown in and grabbed immediately.
  17. It's interesting, but I think all of the weapons need somewhat of an overhaul. In my opinion they were fine before, then they were changed to something which doesn't really fit well in any way.

You're missing the point; Smithing was brought up simply as an example. It was said earlier that those without hats that want them are being greedy, yet those with hats hoarding more or with billions of cash trying to buy up everything with the sole purpose of profit aren't the greedy ones? A Party Hat, in reality, is nothing more than a status symbol. Owning one doesn't offer you anything in the game itself other than to show off, whereby spending that money on skills increases the number of things you can do within the game. I'm going to simply answer the original post; I feel I'm swaying off topic here slightly. Party Hats aren't worth it in the current economy; no-one wants one just to be happy. They're seeking them for profit and nothing more, in most cases I'm going to assume. There's very few people who will pay such a high price for a hat they're going to keep and hold on to for sentimental value.

You personally, perhaps, but it's something you'll eventually require if you wish to max in this game. I didn't say you had to have one or the other, by any means. All I'm saying is that skills have a use that Party Hats don't. Skills aid you in advancing in the game in terms of levels and what accessibility you have to areas. A hat doesn't. Anyway, as I said and shall repeat -- each to their own. I've done the whole party hat owning thing myself, already.

What does owning an item purely for cosmetic use have over raising your overall player statistics, which take you closer to 2475 total, allow you to smith armour that only people with your skill level can, allow you to use it in places like Dungeoneering to aid the rest of your team and also give you a cosmetic item that comes along with an emote and +9 defensive stats? You can't really argue that a Party hat is the same as a level 99; it really isn't. Although some may prefer to have a hat over a level 99, they're two completely different things thus comparing them shouldn't even come into it.

Yes throw it into a silly skill that does nothing makes a whole lot more sense. Skills are worthless unless you value showing off levels, while party hats show off wealth and INCREASE your wealth at the same time. I think you have the wrong idea here; The person said it's worthless to them thus they would rather spend that money on skills - not to show off but for their own benefit I'm presuming. Each to their own, really. I think the GE prices just need tweaking to achieve the right price. It baffles me to see people being called greedy themselves for wanting the item by those that have it. Look at it this way; most people buying/selling them are to merchant and hoard. Is it not greed to want several of the same limited item? Is it not greed to want a lot of money when you know you'll never ever need it all? I used to be a merchant; I gave up myself because I didn't need anymore money and I'm glad I did before things got ugly.
  22. 10/10, very awesome levels for the month! Sorry I missed the 99. :(
  23. Goodbye Carl, 10/10. It has been nice knowing you, although we haven't spoken much all of the failed highlights in #aod make me remember you every day. I wish you all the best for wherever you wish to take your life from here. Hopefully I'll see you about still.
