An "inside job" ?
Chances are they did test it with the boss monsters, but not with a LS/CS on apparently. Or else something broke while they were updating the system.
-
An "inside job" ?
Mark said that a roll-back is possible, but too few abused it for it to warrant a role back of the systems (Which isn't once a day that the game is "Saved", I'm sure...) and it would mean there would be two hours downtime following the roll back. I can't believe there's conspiracy theories, now. That's beyond a joke.

End of an Era... probably...
I don't think you can really apply that idea to everyone that's 14. Not everyone has the same interests, etc. Many kids are addicted to sports...Sports games, even. Can play them day-in, day-out...Because that's what they enjoy. RuneScape is the same idea. If you enjoy it, your attention can be focused to it completely.

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
Yeah you can only get 138 when you've acquired all of the pieces from quests which are gear from the ancient Prime's.

Dice game
I'm honestly shocked that people are turning to this as a method of money making.

Um - is RWT not reportable any more?
I feel quite the same. I rather play a game with mature, aware and respectable people than immature, unaware and people who show no respect for others. I like the situation we have -- for the most part. People are required to be careful of what they say and abide by the rules. I don't want to imagine RuneScape without a 'report abuse' feature. People reporting others are being protective, granted many may be doing it for the wrong reasons - but then again you shouldn't be saying things/doing things that could get you in trouble. RuneScape without P-Mods or people who have respect for themselves and others who choose to avail of the Report Abuse feature and protect some potential victim would be quite a mess... I think it may still be fresh in peoples minds as to what happened earlier this year, with a young girl and a predator? Granted, these things can -- and quite obviously do still happen, but on a scale that's barely even viewable in reality...Can you guess how common things like this would become without people reporting others? So trading in real life is illegal? Good to know, i'll remember that next time i go to a supermarket. Yes, it would be wise to remember that. Especially if you were aware the supermarket you had planned on purchasing those goods had stolen them from another retailer and were selling them as their own. As that is essenially what's going on with RuneScape, no? You don't own the product, therefore have absolutely no right to sell it.

Um - is RWT not reportable any more?
Lol what? Encouraging other to break rules can cover people trying to make others RWT, but thats it. Not confessions of RWT or any acts of RWT. Multi-Logging - just plain wtf? How does multi-logging in ANYWAY relate to RWT? Account Sharing only works for specific cases. Eg confession of buying the account ergo having shared it or of having paid someone to train it for them again sharing. I'm not going to say much more than I already said prior, but you can report these things regardless. If you state that you bought 100M gold -- sure, who knows, maybe they can't check if you've gained a significant amount, but just by saying you did you're encouraging others to do the same. You know...Monkey see, monkey do and all that jazz. People seem to be running on the idea that, if it's not on the report screen it's not against the rules. Things you've mentioned still are against the rules, just coupled in with the others. If someone's saying they bought gold...That's reportable. Any form of RWT is reportable. RWT - Rule Account Sharing - Rule Just two links above for you. The rule regarding Account Sharing - contrary to several beliefs on here, they can check if you've been sharing your account. Of course, if you live under the same roof as another Scaper, there's going to be several problems with identifying that. But if there's a login from the UK on an account and then one on in the US, and this is constantly happening -- do you not think that would be something suspicious? Of course it is. If someone's admitting to doing it -- then they are admitting that they may [We don't know if they are being truthful] be breaking the rules, therefore it warrants a report so Jagex can look into it. Everything that was on the Report Abuse screen still, for the most part, is around. Just coupled in with other headings.
-
Um - is RWT not reportable any more?
You'll be able to report RWT under Encouraging, as well as Account Sharing under the same heading...And Multi-Logging.

21-Feb-2011 - Attack of the WildyWyrms!
Bought a mask for 10M, sold for 20M. I'm satisfied. Back to real life stuff, now. Overall a good update, I suppose.

18-Feb-2011 - You brought back the Wildynow you can prove it!
Are we talking about it like civilised people? Or are people making a huge deal out of something so small and insignificant? I think peoples negative reactions regarding this have gone beyond a joke. If you dislike what they do so much, then why are you still here? Everything they do seems to get a negative mouthful from most around here recently.

What annoys you the most on RuneScape?
Or people saying 'Fallz' to indicate to others to follow them. Instead of "Fall In", "Follow", or...to make it even shorter; "Fall". Why slap a "Z" on it?! Oh, also people who go out of their way to be a nuisance to others.

There's the 2147M cap for Gp/Items, but when it comes to trade screens, etc. It's capped at 2,000,000,000.

They're not so much as shoving it down our throats, though. They're posting it on the website for those interested in taking part. Just remember, it was gone for 3 years.

Wow, people surprised that a company is actually acting like a company? *GASP* I think it's rather pathetic to bash any attempts for a company to perhaps gain more customers. "Community [developmentally delayed]ation"? Are you kidding me? Do you know how petty that sounds? Oh and also, there may not even be a whole team on this, hell it could be 1/2 people; not every staff member. Shameful to think of how this place is becoming.

The Profanity Filter
Still representatives of a faction of the community in some form, and I'm not impressed. "I hate stupidity, something her person is rampant with"; then you must hate life; it is full of it. I daresay yourself, too. The above doesn't come across at all intelligent; flaming people over this? Yeah. That's stupidity. Hypocritical? Yep. "I hate stupidity." in itself is a stupid thing to say, Batman.

The Profanity Filter
You have to admit, this was kinda fun. Oh god yes, it was hilarious, made my day in fact. Yes, you're perfectly right. This thread does prove that the maturity levels has plummeted around here and people can't have any kind of mature discussion. The filter was removed, apparently, to allow the mature players chat more freely. Something tells me the majority of RuneScape players aren't ready to grow up yet, thus resort to using it needlessly. LogDotzip - "It would appear OP has left the thread. Rejoice, intelligent, reasonable people win once again. Now can this pointless ass thread get a lock please?" Intelligence and people being reasonable isn't what the last few pages have displayed. Immaturity, a lack of respect, yes. The former, not a hope. Indeed, the thread no longer has reason to exist because the people don't seem to be mature enough to have a discussion, let alone talk in RuneScape without a filter. Good job.

The Profanity Filter
Personally, I am highly against the necessity for this "update". Apparently, it's to please the "mature" players and allow them to use words that they're "mature" enough to use. Well, newsflash, people don't need to use profane language, especially not adults. Most of us haven't done so in our time playing, why it's it suddenly necessary? As a Moderator, any time I speak now I'm told to go "[bleep] off", or some other immature, childish remark's thrown at me. It's not the mature players that are doing it -- it's the ones that the filter was there for in the first place. I completely understand what you mean, Blyaunte. And I do think it's a disgrace, if I may say so. It was never necessary. I've been leading a clan chat now for almost two years; one of the most active clan chats there are on RuneScape and today I was amazed to see just how immature some people are. Racist slurs flying left, right and centre. Of course; nothing we could do at that stage because the rules themselves were so unclear.

Just the opposite
No, these updates haven't resulted in me losing interest in this game - I had lost that a long time ago - they in-fact brought me back to a more active level than I had been for the past year. With RuneScape, you have to do what you enjoy doing. For me, it's making money. But only by certain ways; some people go after money through pk'ing, skilling... I don't personally. I'm happier working the economy. But what I'm getting at is - that person who's been Monster Hunting for hundreds of hours is determined to get something; it's their personal goal. That Divine Sigil as a drop from The Beast itself is the accomplishment -- the self-satisfaction, the thing they play RuneScape for. Chances are, that Divine Sigil's going to be turned into a Divine Spirit Shield and they're going to be more effective at what they truly enjoy. Then...We have the Staker. Their motivation is the money, right? Not the monster hunting...Not what you've spent hundreds of hours trying to achieve something for yourself. They may make 1 million, or 1 billion - that's their goal. And they're knowledgeable that it's a 50/50 gamble - maybe even less. They're not going to buy the pretty armour you have and go killing Beasts, they're going to continue Staking. That's their drug...They'll have their ups and downs. Their luck will come and go. They'll probably get cleaned and start over...But because they've entered the business with the knowledge that they may very well lose everything - it doesn't come as much of a shock when they do. Basically, Staking's not for everyone. Neither is Mechanting, or Monster Hunting. That's the way RuneScape has always been. Just because you've made 1b in an hour Staking doesn't mean I'm going to stray away from killing Frost Dragons for the satisfaction. It's late and I think I got lost somewhere in my paragraph.

Feels like Sparc Mac is not very good at staking and should just stop now before something horrible happens >_> I'm at -900m, gave 80m to random strangers yesterday, but I'm not stopping ;) there's one way to stop staking and that's C L E A N E D  Looks like I could do with staking you! :P

Thank you, your abuse report has been received.
Surprised that scamming, luring, and general douchebaggery become extremely common with free trade? I'm not. I knew this would happen as soon as Jagex announced the poll. Nobody believed me... Nobody believed you with something that's so obvious? Doubtful. It's not a big price to pray to see these return. We've gone from one extreme to the other -- but this is one people are willing to accept. Prior to free trade we had "Merchant Clans"; people are moreso happy to see them go than the arrival of people scamming. Reasons being - one you can prevent, one you cannot. With all of the aids Jagex have given us it's amazing to still see people getting scammed. It was something much more obvious back in '06/'07 (And previous years) when there wasn't big red flashing exclamation marks indicating to you that the trade's been changed or when you needed to have a general knowledge of the price of an item. Now we've got those warnings; two trade screens and a "Guideline price"... I can't believe people can still fall victim to such simple methods of scamming. Educate yourself, adapt...Don't expect things to adapt around you. I'm fine with what we have, I welcome its return with open arms and a grin on my face, because I know from this things can only get better. People wouldn't be scamming if others weren't so gullible. The gullible just need to be educated more. Jagex have provided us with many guides on how to do things - here at Tip.It we have guides also. They need to open their eyes.
